The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has taken a proactive step in ensuring the professionalization and development of football in the country by collaborating with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to conduct a three-day club licensing workshop for clubs participating in the Men’s and Women’s Premier Leagues as well as the National Super League
The workshop, which commenced on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024, is being held at the Mövenpick Hotel & Residences Nairobi in the bustling district of Westlands
The participants of the workshop include two representatives from each FKF Premier League and FKF National Super League club The focus areas of the workshop revolve around the CAF Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP), with comprehensive training sessions being conducted to familiarize club representatives with platform usage In addition, detailed presentations are being provided on the CAF Club Licensing regulatory framework (edition 2022) for both the men’s and women’s categories.
This entails an in-depth explanation of the mandatory criteria for clubs to meet in order to participate in domestic and continental competitions
Leading the workshop were experienced instructors including Emmanuel Dasoberi, a CAF CLOP Instructor, Hamza Sorouri, a CAF CLOP Officer, and Miguel Revera, a CAF CLOP Expert
Their expertise and guidance are invaluable in helping club representatives grasp the intricacies of the club licensing process and ensure compliance with the set standards.
By adhering to the CAF Club Licensing system, clubs will be better equipped to meet the standards required for domestic and international competitions, ultimately raising the overall standard of football in the country
Through various initiatives, FKF is working towards improving player welfare, infrastructure, and the overall quality of the sport
