BATTLE GROUND, IN - Savannah Belle Isom, 22, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. She was born August 12, 2001, in Lafayette, Indiana to Freddie and Gretchen (Overmyer) Isom. Savannah was a 2019 graduate of Harrison High School where she enjoyed being in choir, cheerleading, dance and FFA. She was a talented singer and participated in numerous state solo and ensemble contests-always winning gold with perfect scores. She had the privilege to perform at the Elliott Hall of Music at Purdue University and had auditioned for The Voice. She enjoyed the hymns and fellowship at the Apostolic Christian Church where she attended with her grandparents and she loved working on their farm.
Savannah was a loyal friend and companion to her mother and an amazing big sister to her younger siblings.
She is survived by her mother, Gretchen of Battle Ground, her father, Freddie C. Isom of Lafayette, one sister, Scarlett Virginia Isom and one brother, Freddie Collier Isom, both of Battle Ground and her grandmother, Beverly Bell Overmyer of Francesville, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Richard Overmyer.
Visitation will be from 4-8pm EDT on Friday, October 6, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11am EDT on Saturday, October 7 at the Apostolic Church in Francesville, with Ministers of the Church officiating. Burial will be in the Roseland Cemetery in Francesville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Christian Church.
Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Francesville.

KNOX, IN - Raymond C. Walton Jr., 62, died Friday, September 29, 2023. He was born July 22, 1961, in Van Wert, Ohio to the late Raymond C. Walton Sr. and Gay F. Walton.
Ray loved these three things the most: His granddaughter, riding his Harley and going to work.
He is survived by long-time companion, Mary Simpson of Knox, Indiana, one daughter, Alyssa (Shane) Walton of Knox, one granddaughter and one sister, Jennifer (Aaron) of Christiansburg, Virginia.
Services were held Tuesday, October 3, at the M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Burial was in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox.
Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home, Knox.
JAMES E. DEMIS, SR.
KNOX, IN - James E. Demis, Sr., 80, died Friday, September 22, 2023, in Eupora, Mississippi. He was born May 26, 1943, in Gary, Indiana, to the late George and Edna (Hyndman) Demis. His first wife, Vivian Kay Demis died in August of 2020. In January of 2021, he married Diana Dismore.
Jim loved to tinker and could fix or build just about anything. He and his sons have built dune buggies, repaired and maintained semi trucks and built several homes together. He loved old cars. He had worked at the Ford Stamping Plant and owned and operated his own trucking business.
He is survived by his wife, Diana, two sons: James Jr. (Barbara) of Hamlet, Indiana and Robert Demis of Plymouth, Indiana, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two sisters: Shirley Hall of Texas and Linda Newcomb of Hobart, Indiana.
Services were held Friday, September 29, at the M.C. Smith Funeral Home.
Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox.
EDNA M. GIDNEY
WESTVILLE, IN - Edna M. Gidney, 92, died Friday, September 22, 2023 at her home. She was born June 1, 1931, in Salyersville, Kentucky, to the late Clark and Elizabeth Wireman. On October 27, 1976, she married William “Bill” Gidney. He died September 5, 2023.
Edna was a long-time member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Knox, Indiana.
She is survived by her children: Dana A. Deerberg of Wheatfield, Indiana, Anthony B. (Sue) Deerberg of La Porte, Indiana, Kema D. (Henry) Justice of Westville, Martin K. (Kasia) Deerberg of Germany, Billy (Charlene) Gidney of Washington, Indiana and John C. (Susan) Gidney of Florida, many grand, great and great great grandchildren and one brother, Kenneth R. (Val) Wireman of Lafayette, Indiana. She was preceded in death by one son, Gregory A. Deerberg and five siblings: Clyde and Lewis Wireman, Nita M. Barkley, Geneva Bradley and Lilah Leigh.
Services were held Thursday, September 28 at the New Hope Baptist Church.
Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox.
MARGARET JOAN LEDFORD
WINAMAC, IN - Margaret Joan
Ledford, 92, died Thursday, September 28, 2023. She was born June 18, 1931, in Headlee, Indiana, to the late Willard and Pearl (Dulin) Geisler. On June 19, 1949, she married Robert Wesley Ledford. He died December 15, 1989.
Margaret was a 1949 graduate of Buffalo High School and attended the First Baptist Church in Francesville, Indiana. She was a long-time church song leader at Paul’s Chapel Church. She enjoyed gardening, especially caring for her flowers and attended her grandchildren’s sporting events. She loved her family very much.
She is survived by three sons: Ricky (Anita) Ledford of Winamac, Indiana, Michael (Pam) Ledford of Francesville and Chris (Annabelle) Ledford of Hopedale, Illinois, twenty grandchildren, thirty seven great grandchildren and one brother, Eugene Geisler of Winamac. She was preceded in death by two sons: Randy and Timothy Ledford and one sister, Beverly Adair.
Visitation will be from 11am-1pm EDT on Friday, October 6, at the First Baptist Church, with services beginning at 1pm EST, with Pastor Dennis Gutwein officiating. Burial will be in Paul’s Chapel Cemetery in Winamac. Memorial contributions may be made to LifeWise Academy.
Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Francesville.
