NATHAN DANIEL KOSKE

WINAMAC, IN - Nathan Daniel “Nate” Koske, 46, died Thursday, July 10, 2025 at IU Health White Memorial Hospital in Monticello, Indiana.

Nate will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Party on Nate Dog.

He is survived by his parents, Daniel and Rita Koske and siblings: Adam Koske and Melissa (Chace) Nies.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Riley Children’s Foundation.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

FRED TIMOTHY ALEXANDER

WINAMAC, IN - Fred Timothy “Tim” Alexander, 68, died Saturday, July 5, 2025 at his home. He was born June 4, 1957 to Bob and Marilyn (Nims) Alexander.

Tim was a 1975 graduate of Winamac High School, where he played golf, ran cross country and spent his free time focused on working on his hog farm and pursuing his future wife, Sue Hoffman. He attended Purdue and was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity and Purdue Livestock Judging Team. He loved farming, history, finding new music, supporting his grandkids, the annual family vacation to Michigan and his family. He loyally followed the Chicago Bears and the Purdue Boilermakers.

He is survived by one daughter, Megan (Chris) Wegner, two sons: Jim (Katy) Alexander and Mark (Janelle) Alexander, eight grandchildren, his father, Bob and siblings: Jenni Goudarzi, John (Shellee) Alexander and Scott Alexander. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Alexander and his mother, Marilyn Alexander.

Private graveside services will be held in the Tippecanoe Cemetery in Winamac. Memorials may be made to the Tippecanoe Cemetery, the Winamac FFA or the Community Foundation of Pulaski County.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

DOLORES I. STROPKY

SAN PIERRE, IN - Dolores I. Stropky, 89, died on Sunday, July 6, 2025. She was born August 31, 1935 in Gary, Indiana to the late Michael and Julia Fitcze. On August 18, 1956, she married Michael Thomas Stropky. Dolores was an active member of the English Lake Church. She enjoyed living on a small farm, gardening, canning vegetables and sewing. She will be missed.

She is survived by three children: Thomas (Therese) of Michigan City Indiana, Timothy (Judy) of Phoenix, Arizona and Eileen (Ronald) Winfrey of Grand Rapids, Michigan and five grandchildren.

Visitation for 9-11am CST on Thursday, July 17 at the O’Donnell Funeral Home with a memorial service immediately following. Burial will be in the All Saints Cemetery in San Pierre. A luncheon will follow at the English Lake Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Red Cross.

JAMES EDWIN SELLERS

KNOX, IN - James Edwin Sellers, 93, died Thursday, May 29, 2025 after an extended illness. He was born November 24, 1931 in Knox, to Samuel Issac and Millie Pearl Kenyon Sellers. Jim was first married to Betty Jo Hurt (deceased), later he married Irene Bailey Reed (deceased) and in 1980 he married Nancy Ann Samuelson. Jim was a veteran of the US Army. He was a farmer, ran a dairy and drove a school bus. He was interested in rebuilding International tractors and could repair anything with a motor. He had worked for several area farmers,

maintained a pristine garden with flow ers and vegetables, loved chickens and other animals and looked forward to seeing his friends for coffee at McDonalds.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy, her daughters: Bonnie Samuelson of Culver, Indiana and Beth Samuelson Baker of Knox, his sons: James (Christine) Hurtsellers of Fernandina, Florida and Joey (Shelly) Hurtsellers of Maumee, Ohio, many grandchildren and great grandchildren and one brother, Paul (Arlene) Sellers Jr. He was preceded in death by siblings: Ida Oliverius, Joseph Harold Sellers, Samuel I. Sellers Jr. and Glenda Belle Salzar.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, July 19 from 11am till 2pm CT at the Starke County Council on Aging in Knox.

Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox.

DONNA LEE WALTERS

ORA, IN - Donna Lee Walters, 83, died Monday, July 7, 2025 at her home. She was born October 26, 1941 to the late Edward Allen and Eileen A. (Hazlett) Tanner. On September 30, 1959, she married Rutherford Byron Walters.

Donna enjoyed hosting family gatherings, handing out Halloween candy and hiding Easter eggs. She had worked at The Shirt Shed in Culver, Indiana and at a nursing home in Knox and then at Walters Grocery Store, where she was manager.

She is survived by her husband, Rutherford, children: Donna (Niel) Holcomb of Ora, Kathy (Brad) Minnick of Winamac, Indiana, Connie Cogdill of Lebanon, Indiana Helen (Bob) Short of Toto, Indiana, Debbie (Edward Sr.) Anderson of Rensselaer, Indiana and Rutherford “RB” (Brenda) Walters of Monterey, Indiana, twenty two grandchildren and twenty six great grandchildren and siblings: Ronald Tanner and Sue Fritter both of Plymouth, Indiana, Eloise (Jack) Monter of North Canton, Ohio, Carol (Doug) Craddock and Jana (Rick) Richardson, both of Warsaw, Indiana, George Tanner of Rochester and Jerry Tanner of Winamac. She was preceded in death by four great grandchildren and one brother, Rodger Allen.

Services were held Friday, July 11 at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Burial was in the Alexander Heinemann Cemetery in Ora. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

DANIEL LOEHMER

LOGANSPORT, IN - Daniel Loehmer, 76, died Tuesday, July 8, 2025. He was born August 27, 1948 in Monterey, Indiana to the late Nicholas and Veronica (Schutz) Loehmer.

Daniel was a 1966 graduate of Monterey High School in Monterey, Indiana. He was a veteran of the US Army and was a member of the Iron Workers Local #379 in Lafayette, Indiana. He had a 38 year career as a union ironworker. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed hunting and fishing, liked a good card game, never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune and was well known for his large vegetable garden. He loved his family very much and was a proud “Big Beard Grandpa”.

He is survived by one son, Joshua Loehmer of North Manchester, Indiana, one daughter, April (Keith) Stouder of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, two grandchildren and siblings: Raymond Loehmer of Portage, Indiana, Irene (Daniel) Forest and Loren (Angela) Loehmer, both of Monterey and Loretta Watkins of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was preceded in death by siblings: Ralph Loehmer, Virginia Mutt, Virgidelle Weasel and Vivian Reinhold.

A celebration of life visitation will be held from 4-8pm EDT on Thursday, July 17, at Frain Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Anne’s Cemetery Fund.

FRANCES ROWE

MEDARYVILLE, IN - Frances Rowe, 57, died Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac, Indiana. She was born October 8, 1967 in Rensselaer, Indiana to the late James and Ethel Mae (Wireman) Allen. On August 24, 1985 in Medaryville, Indiana, she married Rickie Rowe.

Frances attended the Goodway Baptist Church in Medaryville. She devoted her life to caring for others, working as a CNA for most of her career. She loved her family very much and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Rickie, her children: Felicia Rowe and Brandon (Gabrielle) Rowe, bonus daughter, Sara Miller, four grandchildren and siblings: Sadie Wireman and Sylvania (Brian) Chadwick. She was preceded in death by one son, Nicholas Eugene Rowe, siblings: Susie Bailey and Ronnie Allen and her step father, Newton Campbell.

Visitation from 4-6pm EDT on Tuesday, July 15 at Goodway Baptist Church with services at 11am EDT on Wednesday, July 16 at the church. Burial will be in the Goodway Cemetery in Medaryville. Memorials may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Medaryville.
