DO YOU HAVE THE ANSWERS??
As a resident of Railroad Township in Starke County, I have recently witnessed the transformation of our paved roads to gravel. This decision was based on the road usage need of the solar company, Next Era, during the construction of the infrastructure of the Dunn Bridge solar project. We were told our roads will remain gravel until completion of the project in summer of 2025.
I believe all residents of Starke County should be asking some questions:
1) Who is paying for the material & labor to convert our roads from pavement to gravelNext Era, NIPSCO or taxpayers?
2) Who will pay for maintaining the gravel roads for two years?
3) Who will pay for the paving in 2025?
4) What are the specs for the paving in 2025?
