MICHAEL R. HAJEK
NORTH JUDSON, IN - Michael R.
“Mike” Hajek, 61, died Monday, July 19, 2025. He was born June 6, 1964 in Lafayette, Indiana.
Mike was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing and just being outdoors. He was very social and loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his children: Brendon Hajek, Chelsea (Ethan) Ashton and Emma Hajek, his father, Robert “Bob” (Margaret) Hajek, his mother, Lyn Hajek and one brother, Jim Hajek.
Services were held Friday, July 18, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home.
Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox, Indiana.
MARTY SCOTT MARTINDALE
MONTICELLO, IN - Marty Scott
“Sparky” Martindale, 61, died Monday, July 14, 2025. He was born April 1, 1964 in Winamac, Indiana to Wilbur Scott “Marty” and Yavonna Joyce (Long) Martindale.
Marty was a 1982 graduate of Winamac High School and attended IUPUI and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Purdue University. As a Mechanical Engineer, he traveled the world troubleshooting problems for Variotech based out of Lafayette, Indiana. He was raised in the Star City Church of Christ and most recently attended Refuge Worship Center in Logansport, Indiana. In his younger years he had played on the Tigers for Star City Little League. Marty enjoyed water skiing and partying. He loved ‘80’s music and his Camaro.
He is survived by his mother, Yavonna of Winamac, Indiana, one brother, Marshall (Shannon) Martindale of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and one sister, McKenzie (John) Forest of Winamac. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur Scott “Marty” Martindale.
Graveside services were held Saturday, July 19 at the Buck Cemetery in Thornhope, Indiana, with Pastor Dave Somers officiating. Memorials may be made to the Warrior Youth Baseball.
Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
MARK LOVELY
PLYMOUTH, IN - FORMERLY OF ENGLISH LAKE, IN - Mark Lovely, 62, died Tuesday, July 15, 2025. He was born December 4, 1962 in Gary, Indiana to the late Cecil and Dorothy (Gibbs) Lovely, Sr.
Mark had worked throughout his youth at the family tree nursery and auction house in English Lake. He was extremely outgoing and lived a colorful life. He enjoyed the outdoors and was very proud of his children. He is survived by four sons: Eric Lovely of Culver, Indiana, Mark A. Lovely of Knox, Indiana, Jackson Lovely and Logan Fletcher, three daughters: Sarah Lovely, Brittany Harmon and Ashley (Gary) Buchan, all of Knox, Indiana, thirteen grandchildren, and siblings: Robin Stills and Billy Lovely. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Cecil Lovely, Jr. and Clyde Lovely.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

DOLORAS A. DAN
MISHAWAKA, IN - FORMERLY OF BASS LAKE, IN - Doloras A. Dan, 84, died Saturday, July 12, 2025. She was born June 2, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Ernest and Edith (Hasse) Scheuchner. In 1983, she married John Dan. He died in December, 2005.
Doloras had volunteered for Community Services of Starke County, Knox United Methodist Church and the Starke County Humane Society.
She is survived by her children: Christy Day of Glen Ellen, Illinois, Sandra Bolt of South Bend, Indiana and Michael (Lisa) Dan of Knox, Indiana, ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and two brothers: Marvin (Ellen) Scheuchner of Michigan City, Indiana and Gerald (DiDi) Scheuchner of Trenton, Illinois.
Services were held Thursday, July 17, at the M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Starke County Humane Society or the Community Services of Starke County Food Pantry.
Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox.
REGINA MAE KROFT
INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Regina Mae Kroft, 89, died Saturday, July 12, 2025. She was born January 27, 1936, in Winamac, Indiana to the late William Henry and Caroline Ruth (Klampe) Kroft.
Regina attended Purdue University and received her master’s degree in education and taught for nearly 40 years as a Chemistry teacher at Speedway High School.
She is survived by two nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by one sister, Marilyn Sue (Kroft)
Williams.
Services were held Friday, July 18, at Frain Mortuary with Jill Rhoda officiating. Burial was in the Winamac Cemetery (McKinley Addition).
Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
TODD A. CATANZARITE
FULTON COUNTY, IN - Todd A. Catanzarite, 75, died Saturday, May 24, 2025 at his home. He was born October 10, 1949 in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Anthony and Alma (Young) Catanzarite.
Todd was retired from NIPSCO.
He is survived by two sons: Jason and Jacob Catanzarite, his former spouse, Ellen Catanzarite, one step daughter, Erika Grasham and one step son, Chad Grinder. He was preceded in death by one sister, Judy Nawrocki and two half brothers: Wayne and Wally Wood.
Private burial will be in the Marion National Cemetery in Marion, Indiana.
Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac, Indiana.
GERALD L. WILKE
KNOX, IN -Gerald L. “Jerry-Merg” Wilke, 59, died Friday, July 11, 2025 at his home, following an extended illness. He was born October 11, 1965, in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Lawrence and Sharon Sallee Wilke. On January 1, 2011 in Grovertown, Indiana, he married Kim Kampe. Jerry worked in construction. He loved riding motorcycles and go off-roading, being with his family and his animals.
He is survived by his wife, Kim, three sons: Gerald “JJ” (Brittany) Wilke of Lapaz, Indiana, Curtis (Kristi) Wilke of Plymouth, Indiana and Harley (Sarah) Robbins of Columbia City, Indiana, thirteen grandchildren, one brother, Lawrence “Peewee” (Cathleen) Wilke of La Porte, Indiana and one sister, Jacqueline (Greg) Watt of Crandall, Texas. He was preceded in death by one son, Kolton Robbins and one brother, Harvey Wilke.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

PHILIP C. KELLEY
KNOX, IN - Philip C. Kelley, 79, died Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Northwest Health La Porte, La Porte, Indiana. He was born October 17, 1945 in Gary, Indiana to the late Carl and Marjorie (Engelbrecht) Kelley. On March 18, 1982 in Las Vegas, Nevada, he married Mary Collins.
Philip was a retired supervisor at ArcelorMittal in Burns Harbor, Indiana. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in North Judson, Indiana. His many passions included hunting, fishing, working on cars and spending time with his family. He was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, one son, Kyle Kelley, two daughters: Carla (Mike) Kelley and Kendra (William) Trent, all of Knox, eight grandchildren, four brothers: Mike (Edwina) Kelley of St. Louis, Missouri, Kevin Kelley of Vienna, Austria, Patrick (Laura) Kelley of Carmel, Indiana and Tom (Linda) Goeddel of Fair Haven, New Jersey and three sisters: Nancy Gahl of Zionsville, Indiana, Mary (Brett) Freedman of Rochester, Minnesota and Kathy Goeddel of Portland, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Kaye Kelley.
Services were held Monday, July 21, at Braman & Bailey Funeral Home, with Rev. Daniel Speckhard officiating. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery in North Judson. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church.

MINNIE LOU CLEMONS
LA CROSSE, IN - Minnie Lou Clemons, 91, died Monday, July 14, 2025 at her home. She was born August 7, 1933 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late Ebert and Martha (King) White. On September 17, 1949 in Winamac, Indiana, she married Charles Clemons. Minnie worked as a self employed tax preparer. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, where she loved to sing and served as a Sunday School Teacher. She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking cakes and being with family She is survived by her husband, Charles, two sons: Kenny (Lynn) Clemons of La Porte, Indiana and Michael (Alissa) Clemons of Wanatah, Indiana, one daughter, Angela Thomas of La Porte, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren, three brothers: Don (Helen) White and Byron (Betty) White, both of North Judson, Indiana and Guy B. (Maggie) White of Knox, Indiana and one sister, Sue Patrick of Crossville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Clemons and siblings: Johnny and Paul Edward White, Millie Ann and Fanny Roselene White.
Services were held Saturday, July 19, at Braman & Bailey Funeral Home, with Rev. Brian Pinson officiating. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery in North Judson. Memorials may be made to Pop’s Park.
