HENRY L. HOUNSHELL
KNOX, IN - Henry L. Hounshell, 86, died Tuesday, July 30, 2024, in Knox, Indiana. He was born March 23, 1938, in Jackson, Kentucky, to the late Bryson and Betsy Ann (Clemons) Hounshell. On September 13, 1959, in Knox, he married Betty Robinson. She died February 21, 2022.
Henry enjoyed gardening, bee keeping, hunting, fishing, reading his Bible, going to church and spending time with his family whom he loved very much. He had worked as a Farm Electrician for Gumz Farms.
He is survived by three sons: Larry (Barbara) Robinson and Jason Hounshell, both of Knox, Jerry (Michelle) Hounshell of North Judson, Indiana, two daughters: Wilma (Mike) Rowe of Knox and Tammy (Bryan) Baker of North Liberty, Indiana, twelve grandchildren, several great grandchildren with one on the way and one brother, Everett (Shirley) Hounshell of Breathitt Co., Kentucky. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Carl Wayne and siblings: Warnie, Arthur, William, Clifton Paul, Alma Jean, Pearl and Earl.
Graveside services were held Friday, August 2, at the Round Lake Cemetery in Knox.
Arrangements were made by Braman & Bailey Funeral Home in North Judson.
JERRY PAUL STEPHENS
KNOX, IN - Jerry Paul Stephens, 71, died Monday, July 29, 2024. He was born September 5,1952 in Hobart, Indiana, to the late Kenneth Dwight and Iris (Zelenka) Stephens.
Jerry loved his farm, owned J&L Construction for many years, an active member of the Morocco Masonic Lodge #372.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Vesely, children: Jeremy Stephens, Courtney (Louie) Aquilera, Jerry (Leslie Schroeder) Thamm and Jennifer (Joe) Hager, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one sister, ruth Elliott. He was preceded in death by siblings: Betty Seivert, Mary Lou Kolczak and Kenneth Eugene Stephens.
Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox.
RONALD J. VANNA
KNOX, IN - Ronald J. Vanna, 77, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. He was born June 24, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Clarence and Mary (Hernandez) Vanna.
Ron was a man of many talents and he enjoyed simple things such as sitting in his driveway, going to the casino, being a jokester and a self-made mechanic and always helping people. He was a loyal Kansas City Chiefs fan and he loved his family more than anything.
He is survived by many loving children, siblings and grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday, August 7 at 2:30pm CST at M.C. Smith Funeral Home, with visitation 2 hours prior to services. Burial will be in the Oak Park Cemetery in Knox.

EDWARD BONCZEK
NORTH JUDSON, IN - Edward
“Eddie” Bonczek, 93, died Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at his home. He was born November 18, 1931, in New Chicago, Indiana, to the late Leopold and Roszalja Bonczek. On June 17, 1961, he married LaDella Miller.
Eddie was a 1950 graduate of Hobart High School and worked several years at EJE Railway. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving in the Korean and Vietnam Wars and retired after over 20 years of active duty. He had also worked at US Steel in Indiana. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in San Pierre, Indiana. He enjoyed fishing, camping, volunteering at the Jasper-Pulaski Fish and Wildlife Area in Medaryville,
Indiana, traveling to Europe visiting Polish relatives, visiting aviation museums, and playing the piano. He loved his family very much.
He is survived by his wife, LaDella, two children: Helen (Paul) Nunnelly and Joseph (Sherri) Bonczek, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three siblings: Walter and Stanley Bonczek and Helen Lewman.
Services were held Saturday, August 3 at All Saints Catholic Church, with Rev. Terry Bennis officiating. Burial was in the All Saints Cemetery in San Pierre.

LOWELL GREY SCUTCHFIELD
TOTO, IN - Lowell Grey Scutchfield, 80, died at 9:05am, Friday, July 26, 2024, at his home. He was born February 16, 1944 in Toto, Indiana, to the late Art and Mary (Coldiron) Scutchfield.
Lowell loved to talk about his memories of growing up in Toto and was often referred to as the “mayor of Toto”. He originally worked for Ford Motor Company in Illinois and then spent 30 years building his career in the aerospace industry working for such companies as McDonnell Douglas, Hughes Aircraft and Ford Aerospace, where he traveled to the Middle East and Asia, working as a Satellite Tech and crew leader and also worked on many space satellite installation projects at Cape Canaveral in Florida.
He is survived by his daughter, Christina Marie Scutchfield and one sister, Susan (James) Long of North Judson, Indiana. He is preceded in death by three brothers: James, Donnie and Dusty Graveside services will be held at a later date.

CARL M. ANSPACH
WINAMAC, IN - Carl M. Anspach, 89, died Friday, August 2, 2024. He was born March 20, 1935 in Buffalo, Indiana, to the late Floyd M. and Clarisse M. (Jones) Anspach. On March 16, 1958, in Pulaski, Indiana, he married Dorothy A. Good.
Carl was a 1953 graduate of Winamac High School. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and had retired from NIPSCO after 32 years.
He was a member and past-president of the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Reserve and Pulaski County REACT. He was also a 50 year member of the Royal Center Lodge #565 F&AM. Carl enjoyed volunteering at the Pulaski County Human Services Food Pantry and was an active member of the Friends of the Panhandle Pathway.
He is survived by one daughter, Carrie (John) Ingram of Winamac, two sons: Alan (Angie) Anspach of Winamac and Jerry (Becky) Anspach of Thornhope, Indiana, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three brothers: Thomas E. (Patty) Anspach of Winamac, Gene R. (Rena) Anspach of Marshfield Hills, Massachusetts and Earl J. Anspach of Logansport, Indiana and his companion, Lynn Downhour. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, his second wife, Julie (Raszipovits) Budd Anspach, one great grandson, Tyler Thomas and two brothers: John J. and Ken A. Anspach. Visitation from 9-11am EDT on Saturday, August 10 at Frain Mortuary with funeral services beginning at 11am. Burial will be in the Winamac Cemetery (Southlawn Addition). Memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of the Panhandle Pathway or Pulaski County Human Services Food Pantry. Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
DENNY CONLEY
DeMOTTE, IN - Denny Conley, 94, died Friday, August 2, 2024. He was born October 12, 1929, in Kentucky to the late Cevard and Cora (Smith) Conley.
He served in the US Air Force and was a teacher/coach. He coached Little League for many years in DeMotte. He enjoyed golfing, baseball, tennis, bowling, coaching and his family.
He is survived by his children: Sharon (Russell) Hochstedler, Connie (Lyle) Bollin, Ellen (Thomas) Lundy and Ben (Kelly) Conley, sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren plus one on the way and one brother, Raymond (Mickey) Conley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine, and siblings: Verna Snook, Vertis Noble, Barbara Davis, Pearly Timmons, Ernie, Herman, Thurman, Hurley, Burley, Roby and Kearney Conley.
Visitation from 3-7pm CST on Wednesday, August 7 at the Boersma Funeral Home. Services are at 10am, Thursday, August 8 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Weston Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

RANDALL OTTO WARNKE
NORTH JUDSON, IN - Randall Warnke, 97, died Monday, July 15, 2024, in Brooksville, Florida. He was born December 16, 1926, in Richmond, Indiana. On December 26, 1954, in College Church, Central, South Carolina, he married Clara Williams.
Randall was a 1944 graduate of Knox High School. He played trumpet in the Starke County Band and played basketball for Knox High School. He was a 4-H member and participated in the Starke County 4-H Fairs. He was a veteran of the US Army, where he played in the band. He had worked on the family farms and then as a meatcutter at the Kingsbury Locker Plant. He then worked for the US Post Office for many years and retired in 1988. He was a member of the Davis Wesleyan Church and had served as a Sunday School teacher and a lay leader. He also played his trumpet in the orchestra he led at church and managed a softball team in the church softball league. He was a generous man and contributed to many charitable causes. He enjoyed men’s college basketball, especially the Purdue Boilermakers.
He is survived by his wife, Clara, one son, David Warnke, one daughter, Deborah (Jay) Beuoy, five grandchildren, two great granddaughters and one sister, Mina Beam. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Rhonda Pinilla, his parents, Otto and Edith (Stigleman) Warnke and a sister, Mary Norem.
Visitation will be held at 1pm CDT on Saturday, August 10 at Davis Wesleyan Church in Hamlet, followed by a celebration of life service at 2pm CDT. Burial will be in the Hanna Cemetery in Hanna, Indiana. Memorials may be made to: Davis Wesleyan Church, Save the Children, Doctors Without Borders or Habitat for Humanity.
