Introduction to Goshen

Goshen has it all. Our city, with the support of our Chamber of Commerce, is host to an ever-growing industrial base and a vigorous retail area, with customers traveling from beyond our region to experience the crafts, food and art our community has to offer.

The Goshen Community School System is excellent, with high rankings for diversity, college preparation and highquality teachers. Since 1903, Goshen has been the proud home of Goshen College, a highly ranked small liberal arts institution with an outstanding international reputation.

Goshen has award-winning parks and recreational facilities, with bike and pedestrian trails that weave through the city, providing residents and guests scenic, environmentally friendly routes for their commutes and enjoyment.

Nationally recognized for our commitment to protecting the environment, Goshen has adopted a Climate Action Plan to transition governmental services to be more environmentally friendly. Going solar, switching to electric vehicles and expanding the tree canopy are just a few examples of how we are reducing our carbon foot print.

The heart of town is a hub of creative activity where residents and visitors come to play. Goshen’s vibrant downtown is comprised of artists and locally owned businesses, and is the location for various community events throughout the year.

More importantly, Goshen is home to nearly 35,000 people who care about their city. One of Goshen’s greatest assets is its diverse population. The city is striving to be more inclusive every day. Whether just passing through, considering a lengthy stay, or a permanent relocation, you will discover that Goshen is an uncommonly great community.

It is my honor to welcome you.
