One thing is clear, to attract and retain businesses in Goshen our community needs to have welltrained, highly skilled workers for the jobs of the future. The Goshen Chamber of Commerce, along with Goshen Community Schools, Fairfield Community Schools, Bethany Christian Schools, St. John the Evangelist Catholic School, Clinton Christian School and Goshen College, lead the way to Champion our community’s business future.
The Goshen Chamber Board of Directors recognizes a direct link between educating our community’s young people and developing a workforce ready with 21st century skills for tomorrow’s jobs in Goshen. With the assistance of many Chamber members and their businesses throughout Goshen, the Chamber supports all schools in Goshen.
ACCREDITED PRESCHOOLS
Give your child a step up in preparation for kindergarten with one of Goshen’s accredited preschools. The city of Goshen has two accredited preschools in three locations.
Unlike daycare centers, these preschools provide developmentally appropriate learning opportunities for children following guidelines and standards set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Both of Goshen’s accredited preschools have also achieved the highest rank possible in Indiana’s Paths to Quality childcare quality rating and improvement system.
PRIMARY SCHOOLS
The city of Goshen has three primary schools located within the city limits. They include multiple award-winning schools providing students both quality school experiences and educational opportunities out of the classroom.
With a high school regularly highlighted by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best in the state, Goshen Community Schools provides students with the skills they require for college or a career following graduation. Boasting top extracurricular programs including award-winning music and impressive engineering programs, Goshen High School also offers a demanding large International Baccalaureate two-year program that earns students college credit while still in high school. Goshen Community Schools also works to incorporate interactive learning with a one-to-one laptop program and the high school and other classrooms’ technologies throughout the elementary and middle schools.
A fully accredited private Christian school option is Bethany Christian School, which provides students with service opportunities and space for spiritual growth alongside academic learning. Bethany’s innovative programs include its one-to-one computer and tablet programs and J-term program, which allows students to explore in-depth subjects during January. Following graduation, 90% of Bethany Christian’s students go to college or technical school.
St. John’s Catholic School provides elementary school programming for students looking to learn in a church school atmosphere. With a challenging curriculum, St. John’s (an extension of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Parish), has classes for preschool students through fifth grade. It also offers an afterschool program for students to complete homework, receive additional instructional assistance, socialize and play.

Fairfield Community Schools is in the southeastern portion of Elkhart County and is a district of roughly 2,000 students from Elementary through High School. The corporation is made up of a wide range of economic and ethnic backgrounds. Since it is in a rural setting, many families make their living farming. Community involvement is one of the school system’s valuable assets.
The foundation of Clinton Christian School’s philosophy lies in their vision and commitment to three pillars: Distinctly Christian, Decidedly Excellent, and Deeply Connected. Because its primary goal is to prepare students to follow Christ in all aspects of their lives, the faculty, staff, and curriculum are distinctly Christian, with both Bible memory and spiritual instruction occurring at every level. Additionally, Clinton Christian seeks to develop and strengthen their students’ ability to connect and serve within their community, excel academically, and thrive while participating in a wide variety of extracurricular activities. Clinton Christian School has Preschool & PreK thru 12th grade.
SECONDARY EDUCATION
Quality education options in Goshen do not end with a high school degree, Goshen is central to several branches of large, public universities along with being the home of Goshen College, the #1 Bachelor’s College in Indiana by the Washington Monthly. Goshen College is a private, Christian, liberal arts college. This college offers Graduate programs - 3 master’s and 1 doctoral, Undergraduate programs in 47 majors and 53 minors, along with several adult degree-completion and certificate programs. The 135-acre tree-filled campus features a world-class music center and a recreational center for 14 inter-collegiate athletic teams. Beyond academic degree programs, Goshen College is filled with a variety of options for continued learning.
Ivy Tech Community College North Central
includes a campus in Goshen and in nearby Warsaw, Elkhart, and South Bend. Ivy Tech North Central grants degrees in more than 45 different programs, along with workplace and job skill training with convenient schedules for adult learners.
Indiana Tech offers a College of Professional Studies with degree programs in 18 different programs. This provides local students a nearby campus in Elkhart.
The Indiana University South Bend Elkhart Center provides students a nearby campus to begin coursework toward an Indiana University degree and a variety of additional services.
