11:11 – Traffic stop conducted. The driver was unable to produce a valid drivers license. A voluntary penalty of $233 was issued. 11:13 – Subject arrested on outstanding warrants. During the arrest, meth was found and the subject was charged accordingly. 18:42 – Report of mischief in Vegreville. The complainant indicated that one male had smashed the window in a vehicle. Members attended and it was determined that all the parties involved were family members. No witnesses were willing to provide a statement and no charges were handed out. 20:08 – Report of loud music from a neighbouring house. It was reported that this was going on all day and all night. Members attended and there was no music playing when they were on the property. This is an ongoing dispute between neighbours.

December 17

00:04 – Report of a suspicious vehicle with two unknown occupants near a business in Mundare. The complainant indicated in a follow up call that the vehicle had moved to another business. Members attended but the vehicle was unable to be located. 04:21 – Report of a break and enter in progress to a business in Mundare. Members attended but the suspects were gone when they arrived. The safe from the business was located down the alley with break and enter tools which were retrieved for examination. Fingerprints were obtained on scene for purposes of identification. Investigation ongoing. 04:27 – Report of a break and enter to a public building in Hilliard. Members attended. It was determined that the safe had been taken along with other items. Investigation ongoing. 12:23 – Report of Mitsubishi Lancer driving into a power pole near an approach. The driver attempted to drive away but was arrested. A field sobriety test was conducted and the driver failed. The driver was determined to be impaired and the vehicle was towed. The driver was arrested for impaired driving, charged accordingly and later released to family members with documents for court. 13:03 – Report from a student at a Vegreville school regarding 2 other students who had posted a video on social media. The video appeared to show the students smoking marijuana while in a vehicle. The report was passed on to the school principal for follow up. 13:14 – 15:15 Traffic enforcement con-

ducted resulting in multiple speeding tickets (over 10). 15:27 – Report of a fuel theft from a rural property. A fence was cut and a small amount of diesel fuel was stolen. Under investigation. 19:09 – Report of an assault during a family dispute. One unwanted male entered the home and refused to leave when asked. The subject of the complaint assaulted multiple people and then left. Members attended and found the male at a Vegreville business. He was arrested, charged with assault on one minor and later released to a different family member with documents for court.

December 18

06:55 – Report of a stolen truck out of Mundare. The truck along with cash and tools that were in the truck were taken. The vehicle was later recovered at a later time North of Mundare. 06:57 – Report of a stolen vehicle overnight. The vehicle was recovered North of Mundare at a later date. 07:03 – Report of mischief to a vehicle. A window was smashed to gain entry and personal items were stolen. CCTV is being reviewed. Under investigation. 08:00 – A tip was received about a possible stolen vehicle. The vehicle’s plate was determined to be stolen. The vehicle was located and a subject was found in the drivers seat. The subject was arrested, lodged in cells and brought before a Justice of the Peace who then released the subject on a $500 cash bail and documents for court. 11:11 - Traffic enforcement conducted including tickets issued for one vehicle (window tint, vehicle equipment and speeding). Other tickets were for speeding including one with a voluntary penalty of $439. 12:58 – Report of an alarm at a residence. Members attended. Damage was found to the residence and garage. One item was determined to be stolen. Under investigation.

December 19

00:49 – Report of trespassing. Members attended and it appears that people have been using the property as a shortcut for walking traffic. 11:07 – Report of domestic dispute. A male showed up to the door of an Ex’s residence. He had previously threatened the female. Members attended and arrested the male. The subject was found to be in possession of weapons which was in breach of his recognisance. He was held for a hearing and then remanded into custody. 13:25 - Traffic enforcement resulting in multiple speeding tickets and failing to provide insurance card.

December 20

14:07 – Speeding ticket issued with a voluntary penalty of $414. 15:42 – Report of a vehicle in the ditch. Members attended and a male was located in the vehicle, appeared to be in a state of confusion and possibly in medical distress. The male was transported to the Vegreville Hospital and it was determined that he had a very high blood sugar level. The driver was issued a 24 hour suspension, his license was seized and the vehicle towed. 19:53 – Report of an erratic driver. A description was given and located. A traffic stop was conducted in Vegreville and the driver was issued a roadside breath demand. The result was a 0% alcohol content. 23:22 – Report of a verbal argument between 2 people where a male indicated that he would shoot himself with his rifle. Members attended. The male was intoxicated but co-operative. Firearms were seized for an expired PAL. No charges were issued. 23:51 – Request to assist fire department. Members attended and found a vehicle on fire on private property. The owner stated that there was a control burn underway. The owner indicated that he did not like the way the fire was burning and in an attempt to move the burning bale, the owner drove his truck into the burning bale and got stuck. The vehicle burnt.

December 21

11:30 – Report of a theft from a vehicle overnight. Registration, insurance and a parking placard were taken from the unlocked vehicle. 14:59 – Report of a large bale on the highway. Emcon was advised and members attended. A local farmer had seen the bale and returned with a tractor to clear the bale from the roadway. *** score one for good neighbours

December 22

18:42 – Traffic stop conducted due to burnt out taillight. The vehicle came back as an uninsured vehicle with expired registration. Vehicle was towed and the driver was charged accordingly. During the week there were 120 calls for service made in total including: 2 false alarm, 3 false 911, 1 animal strike and 28 tickets from traffic enforcement.

Vegreville RCMP seek assistance to identify suspect of break & enter Submitted

During the early morning of December 10, 2019, a shop in the County of Minburn was broken into. The activity was captured on surveillance and shows the suspect attempting to steal fuel from the property. The suspect was unable to get away with anything significant however the property was damaged and this is not believed to be the first attempt.
