“If we don’t have it, you don’t need it” says the sign above the counter, and after visiting the more than 100 vendors at the Surf City upscale resale shop, Our Yard, Your Sale, you would probably agree with owner Shelly Turco. Need a funny dish towel for Aunt Jane? An aqua towel that proclaims “Salty about not being a mermaid” might fit the bill. How about casual outdoor furniture that can withstand the coastal environment. Take your pick from a large selection of heavy-duty Adirondack chairs in several colors. Or maybe you are looking for a few new signs for your beach house: “Thankful. Blessed. Welcome to Topsail Island.” “We have vintage items, jewelry, household items, farmhouse deco, beachy deco, clothes, signs, lamps, new and slightly used items,” Turco says of the family-owned business located off Highway 210 near the Surf City disc golf park. The parking lot is always full of cars with license plates from New Winter 2022-23
