About us Our rigorous Academy of the Arts and Academy of Science & Technology programs encourage students to question, debate, challenge and learn from the world around them. Our student-centered curriculum inspires students to pursue their passions, encourages risk-taking and creative problem solving in the classroom, and emphasizes the importance of intellectual curiosity and critical thinking. By making learning relevant, engaging, and tailored to student interests and needs, we ensure our students experience true growth, developing the skills they will need to be successful in college and beyond.

DANCE Our co-ed dance program is focused on building artistic athletes who can incorporate rhythm, movement and expression seamlessly. Studies are ballet based, but include lyrical, contemporary, jazz and tap dancing.

DIGITAL BUSINESS Digital Business & Marketing exposes students to

career-focused skills such as resume writing, research and entrepreneurship; while applying skills learned to market and manage school events and performances.

DIGITAL MEDIA Utilizing software programs like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere, students create original artwork targeted for the online digital audience.

This pathway allows students to be on the front lines of digital media in society.

INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC Instrumental performing groups include orchestra, band and drumline. Students learn music theory and composition, arranging and have opportunities to perform as soloists and combined ensembles.

THEATRE With a focus on acting, students engage in a wide variety of theater experiences including playwriting, creating and producing live performances and critically reviewing theatrical productions.

VOCAL MUSIC Students in performance choirs grow their ability to read music, both melodic and rhythmic, perform four part harmonies, and vocalize in an array of styles from classical to jazz to modern. Groups perform with accompaniment and a capella.

VISUAL ARTS Students grow their design skills through drawing, painting and sculpture Coursework is designed to advance their abilities to express themselves and leave with a well rounded college art portfolio.

Academy of

Science & Technology Pathway examines the science and impact of current biotechnological issues.

Students explore major areas within

biotechnology including agricultural, environmental, and medical applications.

Coding in various languages, such as Scratch, CSS, HTML, Python, and Java, is the foundation of this major. Additional

topics include graphics, applications, security, data management, and hardware.

At the conclusion of freshman year, students may apply for a pre-medical minor.

Dual enrollment is embedded in select on-campus classes, while Early College courses are college-lead online courses. We partner with Delaware, Delaware State, Wilmington, and West Virginia Universities to offer these programs..
