Knitters needed The Bacchus Marsh CWA Day Branch has been gifted with loads of wool and material. Now, the local volunteer run organisation is desperate for as many knitters, crocheters and sewers. “We would like people to help us make things for us to sell to donate for the charities we sponsor,” Karin Wilson said. “With CWA, all money does go to where it is meant to go,” she said. Ms Wilson said the donated wool or material is also available for personal use, for a small donation to the CWA. Can you knit one, purl one? Please contact the group by email, phone or call into their rooms at Darley; open Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings from 9am-12 noon. offered assurance that it is prepared for the post-lockdown era. Speaking with the Moorabool News in January, Mayor Cr Tom Sullivan said, “in some businesses, 25 per cent of staff are away, probably for COVID-related reasons”, and similar circumstances could prove a problem for Council. But Council CEO Derek Madden said Council was ready for the challenge. “As with many sectors and organisations, the impact of COVID-19 is being felt at Moorabool Shire. Council is supporting employees and workplace contacts who are affected by COVID-19 as the health and wellbeing of our employees and community is our primary focus; this is of course having an impact on resources,” he told the Moorabool News. “However, Council employees continue to work tirelessly to deliver services and support our community. Council is well-prepared, and has detailed plans in place to ensure services continue to be delivered during these unprecedented and difficult times.”
