On a well-planned raw diet of meat, bones and organs, ample calcium is absorbed from the diet into the blood – the body keeps the blood-bone concentrations steady by depositing calcium into the kitten’s bones. There are many other complex nutrient interactions (which explains the long ingredient lists on processed foods). Luckily, nature gets the balance right for us.
