Harvest-ival song writer records winning song

ARTIST Sammy Morgan was busy recording her piece ‘Revolution Song’ at The Barn Recording Studio in Plainland on March 17.
Sammy won best original song at this year’s Harvest-ival Music Festival and was prized with an opportunity to record her song with music producer Steve Robin.
The Coominya based singer said her song aims to call for people to experience things on their own accord.
“I wanted to really speak to people about learning for themselves,” she said.
“To not just believe what
ADVERTISMENT everyone’s telling them, but to go and experience something and not just be stuck in what other people are saying.”

Sammy said ‘Revolution Song’ wasn’t her original choice for the Harvest-ival, but the song’s lyrics spoke to her as the appropriate alternative.
The Barn recording studio owner Steve Robin said the festival’s goal is to bring local music together.

“The whole point of the Harvest-ival is to bring some local people out and get them to meet and and try and centralise the scene,” he said.

“To have someone professional work on your song plus have someone like John Hudson who has won Grammies for mixing songs, it’s such a great thing.”
