Lions no match for Bears in home game

THE REDBANK Plains second season game in damp conditions, with Redbank adjusting better to the wet conditions.

Bears U14s were in full throttle on March 24, downing the Laidley Lions in an emphatic 46-4 win at the Laidley Recreational Reserve.

Bears coach Boyd Mareko said the team changed their approach to wet weather games.

“In this sort of weather you just got to be more patient,” Mareko said.

“We try to come in closer and not throw the ball around as much.”

Both sides started with a solid defensive game, with plenty of denied opportuni- ties in a nil-all opening 10 minutes.
