After
two years since being in the pandemic, the Academy of Saint John held the 19th Commencement exercises of the Graduating Classes School Year 2021 – 2022 at the ASJ school grounds from April 29 – May 01. Some 200 students from Grades 6, 10, and 12 had their face-to-face commencement exercises while some 30 Kinder pupils had their commencement exercises virtually through Zoom Meetings and Facebook Live. The school council pushed for the faceto-face commencement exercises after the
Department of Education allowed schools in areas under alert level 1 and 2 to conduct in-person commencement exercises last March 25. Students from Grades 6, 10, and 12 went to school for 2 weeks observing 1 and a half hour practices daily for the baccalaureate mass and the commencement exercises. ASJ School council set the commencement exercises as a three-part series wherein the Grade 10 had their moving up ceremonies last April 29 followed by the Kinder and Grade 6 graduates the following day, April 30, and lastly the Grade 12 graduates last May 1.
