I’ve long been questioning what my dream in life really is. Many dream to be doctors, nurses, pilots, engineers, or maybe even astronauts. I, on the other hand, dream of ... finding my dream. However, ever since I’ve been in con stant communication with someone who always seems to be asking what my dream is, I feel like little by little, I’m realizing what I really want in life. At first, I found it an noying since he was quite repetitive, but as time passed and as he started sharing his dreams with me, I slowly realized what he was trying to do. To find out what your dream is, you must first find out what a dream means. Dreams are one’s ambitions in life. They are the desire for a better future held by all living things. When one dreams, a journey begins and a young flame is born.
Our school is a product of a dream—a dream like no other. Twenty years ago, a few individuals dreamed of continuing and expanding quality Lasallian education not only in General Trias, but also in places outside the city. With only a limited amount of resources and time, it would seem impossible for a small group of teachers, accompanied only by the support of parents and stu dents, to put up a Lasallian school in General Trias. But by God’s grace, that dream eventually came true, marking the birth of the Academy of Saint John.
When something is birthed, it grows; and so the school grew through the collective efforts of its community. Now, twenty years later, the Academy of Saint John stands firm, still holding onto that “dream” of continuing and expanding Lasallian education in service to the community.
Twenty years. That’s how long the school has remained true to its vision and mission. For 20 years, ASJ has not only served as an academic institution; it has also served as a home. A place to hone and develop talents, a place to learn, a place where you find comfort, a place to meet new friends, and most importantly, a place where you find family. For 20 years, ASJ has never failed to instill in their learners the values and the meaning of being a true Lasallian. From being a small, aspiring institution aiming to produce well-rounded citizens who will contribute to our society to having been successful in producing such indi viduals, ASJ has truly grown so much.
As we celebrate two decades of being with the institution and in continuation of Mr. Crisostomo’s legacy, the Lasallian Rheims presents its Second Special Maga zine dedicated to reuniting members from the Rheims cur rent batch and Rheims alumni batches as they share their fondest memories and their messages for this institution. In this issue, we have also selected teachers and students to share their precious dreams for ASJ. Together, let us take our time to read the messages coming from some members of this community and cherish as well the memories we have made as we have grown along with the school. As we rem inisce about the past and look into the future while reading this magazine, I would like to resonate with Genshin Impact’s Zhongli’s line but bring it closer to our context: Osmanthus wine does taste the same as we remember, and here we are, sharing the memories with each other.
We would like to extend our gratitude to all of our alumni writers and artists who, amidst their hectic sched ules, went out of their way to contribute to this magazine. To our current members and layout artist, thank you for spend ing your time and effort to make this magazine possible. To Mr. Kent, our adviser, and to the Advisory Board, thank you for your 100% support and trust in us!
We would also like to express our gratitude to the teachers and students who also shared their mes sages for ASJ; and to our readers who have shown con tinuous support for Lasallian Rheims. Without you all, we would not be able to make it where we are now. And to ASJ and its community, the school that has served as our home for years and the people who have made ASJ’s years more fruitful, thank you!
On a side note, I would like to thank ASJ for, well, everything it has done for me. For shaping my char acter, showing me how the world works, for introducing me to great people who have been my companions for years (months, for some; looking at you, Rheims people), and what not. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t tearing up during the making of this part of this message; that’s how big ASJ has impacted my life. Having been with the institution for more than 80% of my entire life and 100% of my educational life so far, I’ve witnessed the school grow ever since I entered it when I was five years old, and as a matter of fact, I myself have grown alongside the institution. It’s in ASJ where my dream was born, and it’s in the institution where I’m currently growing as I aim for my dreams. I’m the type of person to feel immensely attached to something or someone I’ve grown fond of after quite some time, and probably, that’s what hap pened to me as I’ve studied here in ASJ.
After all these years and in spite of all of my uncertainties in life, I can say that there’s one decision that I and my parents made that had one of the great est impacts on my life: trusting in the Academy of Saint John. I really do not know where I’ll be and who I’ll be if I hadn’t entered and stayed in ASJ.
Seeing alumni reach great heights and wit nessing students working hard to achieve their ambitions, I can proudly say that ASJ really is something “different” and something that I will forever be proud of. May ASJ continue its service to its community for years to come, as it has done so for the past twenty years. May ASJ continue to be a place for children to find their dreams and to grow their character. Keep on dreaming, ASJ. With all my heart, thank you so much for everything. I end with our Lasallian prayer, “Live Jesus in our hearts, forever.”
Happy 20th founding anniversary, ASJ! Forever tayong Berde, Animo La Salle!

Alere Flammam Veritatistruly brought out something different in me when I studied there.
There were a lot of experiences that really shaped me and brought me out of my comfort zone so I can really experience growth. Many of the contests in school and outside of the school really pushed me to try my best. I remember participating in a science competition during Junior High where I was just a replacement. At first, I was really baffled by the decision of me being the one to represent the school, but I realized then and there that ASJ believes in my potential. That through training every student to the best of their ability, even someone like me that, admittedly, views science and math as difficult can com pete. Surprisingly, I got past the qualification round, but lost the next round by four points. However, just the idea that I was able to qualify where many could have been there in my place was beyond unbelievable to me and I have ASJ to thank for that. Going forward into their bright future, I only wish for ASJ to continue bringing out the surprising talents of their students that would have been hidden otherwise. Keep honing the students’ skills and giving them more platforms to grow like how it happened for me. I completely trust what ASJ is capable of as I am a product of their fine teaching. [R]

Congratulations to the school on the 20th anniversary.
In this bright event, I wish the school further prosperity. To the faculty and staff, the pride of this educational institution, I wish you all good health so that you can continue to teach minds, touch hearts, and transform lives. May our alma mater continue to garner more accomplishments, continue its efforts in reaching out to people in need, and to further produce excellent students. Happy school anniversary!
To this dear school, our beloved second home, I am grateful for the knowledge and wisdom you have imparted and experiences you have cultivated, with patience and effort. I’m not sure if it is due to time turning all past memories rose tinted, but it does not matter, as studying within those comfortable
walls, the clamor in those halls, were fond and cherished memories.
I’ve spent 13 years of my life in ASJ. It has been with me through the years and I can say with certainty that the Academy of Saint John has greatly affected the lives of its students. Evidently, ASJ graduates are not only competent in academics but also upright in character. The school is definitely a great environment for building long-lasting friendships; the ties I made in the school are things I truly cherish. To my alma matter, for giving me the skills that prepared me for the next steps, for devel oping in me habits and perspec tives in study and work that lead me to competence and excellence, and for giving me opportunities to discover my passions and strengths, you have my gratitude. [R]
Diamond formation occurs when carbon deposits deep within the earth are subjected to hot temperature and high pressure. Some stones take shape in a matter of days or months, while others take millions of years to materialize. Making the cuts on a diamond to shape it into a prized jewel makes it worth much. These cuts are the reasons why a diamond shine.
Since the first time I entered those white gates, I was a diamond from the rough who needed to be shaped and cut for years. During those times, we always greet everyone we knew, study the basics, and form a line and run during dismissal. As years go by, I was slowly being shaped and cut. From being the usual quiet person, I became a student-leader, student-athlete, and a student-journalist. And during my last year of being a student of the Academe, I would never forget all the accomplishments that I have done for myself, and for my alma mater. I may say that I have made a mark in ASJ, which makes me shine bright like a diamond.
I will always remember the staffs of ASJ, teaching and non-teaching, on how they formed the students to become assets of social change. They were the ones who laid the foundation for student excellence, guided by the Lasallian values of faith, service, and communion; how I met my friends from my batch, even from the earlier and next batches, and now treating them as my siblings; and how the sceneries in school look like after a long day of learning. This is what ASJ has; this is why the green and white is soaring high over the City of General Trias for two decades.
As the Academe reaches its 20th Anniversary, I wish that everyone realizes how important the role of ASJ is in upbringing its students and in re leasing their full potential. ASJ indeed is a gem cutter that continues to shape, form, and mold the students for them to shine on their own. May ASJ continue to be committed to impart the values and traditions that distinguish Lasallian students above all others. This is what makes ASJ, like its students, shine bright all over the years, with the blessing of our Lord Jesus Christ, forever. [R]
“Win or lose, it’s the school we choose.”
Where do we even begin?
I mean, I have spent 14 years of my life studying at ASJ. The institution has been a witness to how I grew up, how I conquered challenges, and how I became who I am today. It is where I experienced the best and worst of times, met friends and colleagues, and channeled a vision of who I want to be. ASJ is not just a school; rather, a family and home that I can lean upon and go back to, even to this day.
Maybe, I could focus on a single word - MARK. Specif ically, what mark has ASJ left in me after my 14-year stay in the institution?
More than achieve ments and opportunities, I would be eternally grateful for the life lessons and values that the ASJ family shared with me. My teach ers, friends, and colleaguesevery single one of them has impacted my life in so many ways. My teachers were there to remind me of how much more I can grow; that there are more skills, assets, and traits that I can develop over time. Life does not
solely revolve around academ ics - that’s the number one thing that they have left in me. My friends, on the other hand, taught me how to love and create meaningful relationships that will last a lifetime. They showed me how much happier and more significant life would be with a family that I could come back to. My colleagues and co-Lasallians have helped me go through the grueling process of completing life and school challenges respectively. Their support, love, and encouragement have been invaluable; thus, giving me the boost and confidence to break through the shells that limit me to unleash my full est potential.
Undeniably,
ASJ has left an indelible mark since the person I am right now would not be complete without the lessons and values that ASJ has helped me hone over the years. Today, I am able to survive the challenges of life and of college because of my formative years in the institution. This may be a far more complicated and tougher world but I need not worry for I have a strong foundation thanks to my Lasallian formation. True enough, I am proud to say that I am
an ASJ graduate who will never hesitate to come back home to my second family who did not hesitate to welcome me with open arms.
I am delighted to see and celebrate with the communi ty as the school reaches its 20th year. All our efforts and sacrific es prove to be tougher than all the challenges that we’ve been through. As we celebrate in humility, may we thank all those who were, are, and will be a part of our family. ASJ would not be the same without each and every one of you.
As we reflect on ASJ’s 20-year journey, may we also re alize what it truly means to be a Lasallian and a perpetual mem ber of the ASJ family. More than academics and sports excellence, we are defined by our values and radical transfor mation. The way we relate with people, deal with life, and act in our societies - are far more important than achievements, and accolades for these things are the basic testaments that we tru ly understand what it means to be a Lasallian and a per petual member of the ASJ family. [R]
The Academy of Saint John has produced students who are achievers and now successful contributors to the progress of our society. They brought with them the Lasallian attributes and values which became an essential part of their journey inside and outside the campus. Throughout the years, the institution never stopped achieving the highest peak it can possibly reach and never failed to bring out the best of its capabilities. Not only does the school hone the academic excellence of its students, but also their moral character.
The mission and vision of the institution would not be achieved without the guidance of the faculty and staff who gave their utmost per formance to give the students a qual ity and exceptional education. All the time, attention, and effort they invested paid off as the teachings and works that they have done bore fruit.
Being one of those students, I cannot be thankful enough to my alma mater for giving me the opportunity to show my potentials and know more about myself. It feels great to look back as I recall my memories with ASJ. Many bonds were built, good and bad times that we have shared all throughout, and moments that I will cherish forever.
On its 20th anniversary, I wish that ASJ would never stop believing in their students’ potentials and help them become better persons. May ASJ continue its ambition of bringing excellence and grow more than what it is today. There will come a time when the school will become known outside the city as one of the best institutions where the sky is the limit. Happy Birthday, Academy of Saint John – La Salle Green Hills Supervised. Animo La Salle! [R]
My wish for ASJ now that it has reached its 20th year is, for the school to be able to mold more people to continue pursuing their passion no matter what. [R]
As of writing this message, it has only been months since I last stepped foot in my alma mater, the Academy of Saint John. While it seems that it’s just a short period of time, it’s nostalgic to see posts and videos of events that took place within the past 10 years. Now, I only wish that I was able to attend the many events that ASJ is holding (maybe someday I can). Actually, the last 10 years are now all flashes of lessons for me—the friendships we’ve built, the adventures we’ve had in the guidance office, and the tiring but fulfilling performances that we’ve had to practice during the mass demo. With the different activities that the students experience, the quality education they are given, and the different lessons that the teachers impart on them, one could say that ASJ spells the difference, as everyday is a chance—a chance to bring out each student’s potential for excellence. For that, we thank you, ASJ, for the past 20 years. Animo La Salle! [R]
Just like the trees that surround itself, may ASJ grow and continue to deepen its roots in the hearts of the young peo ple it teaches. I hope it doesn’t forget why they started this school in the first place: to educate with quality and care. Just like their Vision-Mission presents itself with intentions to prepare them for this fast-paced world, hopefully they adapt to said world for the sake of the students they intend to guide. [R]
Happy 20th founding anniversary, Academy of Saint John! It makes me proud that every year, you ought to inspire, touch more hearts, and transform more lives. May this institution be a place of comfort and dreams as it was for me during my stay. May your sunsets be more wonderful as the teachers, students, and alumni age more with grace. Ten years from now, I’d like to see the academy fulfil their vision and mission, and thrive in excel lence and abundance like the stars in the sky. Happy birthday, ASJ! All the love. [R]
PascualAsa former student of ASJ, I can proudly say that the school shaped who I am today. I was able to broaden my horizons and improve myself thanks to the different opportunities provided by the school, and the people I’ve met have become lifelong friends of mine. Every experience I had in ASJ left me with lessons that have remained relevant even as I pursue my own endeavors outside the campus. My stay in ASJ can only be described as fruitful, and I believe the same can be said for my schoolmates.
Given my experiences in ASJ, I know that it is destined for even greater things; as such, I pray that it remains for many more years. I hope that it continues to nur ture gifted students, teachers, and staff for a long time. May the school al ways be filled with love and excellence. Again, happy anniversary! [R]
Being in a new environment like college has made me realize how different I am from others. ASJ has been a significant influence on me, teaching me ways to be acceptable in our society, and for that, I am doing well in college and only have ASJ to thank for. I remember when I used to question ASJ’s teaching and disciplining methods, but now, I am who I am because of it. And for the new generations of the ASJ family, I can only say, “Trust the process.”
Twenty years of existence and the only mission of ASJ was to help children be assets and potential contributors to society. I wish for ASJ to continue supporting and reaching out to those in need. [R]
Icould never put in just one picture what makes Academy of Saint John, special. There are too many things that come to mind: the events and programs, lunch breaks, the dreaded examination days, but most of all, the people. As I was on the search for something nostalgic to contribute to this magazine, I realized that the photographs I was choosing consist of my best of friends, teachers and staff, and so many more people who basically had grown with me throughout the years. Without them, ASJ would not be complete.
I will always look back at how I got to experience so much more than just learning inside of a classroom. I literally was sent outside of ASJ, to places I never thought I would be able to go to like Baguio City and Ozamiz City. I was not only a student, I also became an athlete, an art ist, a leader, dancer, photographer, even once a choir member, and so much more. If there is one thing I can guarantee you, it is that ASJ truly does teach minds, touch hearts, and transform lives.
You have been good to me, ASJ. Thank you. Happy 20th year, Animo La Salle!
Till this day I can still clearly remember the very first time I met you back in 2011. We were both still young at the time, your paint a different color, your lush trees a bit shorter than they are today, the star in the roton da, still non-existent, so was the senior high building along with many other structural details that came and went. But aside from all that, I can remember how you welcomed me the day I entered your gates for the very first time.
As a Grade 1 student, I was fully clueless of all the amazing things you had just waiting in store. You taught me to multiply and divide, as well as how to make friends. You trained me to be a team player the same way as to be a leader. You helped me discover my talents which helped me become a believer in myself. The challenges you threw my way have strengthened me, the faith you taught has guided me, and the animo you’ve lit will forever be burning within me.
Looking back throughout the years, little did I know that the class lessons you’ve taught me would now be my lessons in life. That the friends you’ve intro duced to me in class would now be my lifelong constants. And that the ordinary days with you would now be those cherished moments that I love to look back on. Which is why now in your 20th year, I want to express my thanks to you.
Thank you for watching over me through the 10 years that I’ve been with you, thank you for the memories and friendships, and lastly, thank you for molding me into who I am today. Although we have already parted ways, know that wherever life may take me, you are the second home that I
Haven’t written as many essays recently in comparison to the days I used to do editorial pieces for Rheims. I almost feel pressured, as if I need to maintain the same standard and level of professionalism and meticulousness—but, for this one I’ll just keep it short and sweet. ASJ has given me many opportunities I haven’t had before, and met good friends along the way. When I first came here, I didn’t know what to expect. It was my first time transferring to another school, and so the prospect of a new environment and a bunch of new faces everywhere seemed pretty daunting at first.
Didn’t take long though for me to meet and get to know some people, the same people who are now some of my closest friends up to this day. The sense of belongingness within the community of the school gave it a feeling of home even though I had only been there for a year before transitioning to online classes. It was a shame I didn’t get to stay for the Christmas party back then; went through the whole year without being sick once until that very day. How unfortunate is that?
ASJ has also given me plenty of academic opportunities not only within the school, but outside as well. I got to participate in several regional and national competitions and even won some of them. And of course, I got to join the Lasallian Rheims through a certain somebody’s definitely non-coercive ways. It was a good thing though; Rheims helped improve my writing and critical-thinking skills. I also got to enjoy drawing again thanks to the editorial cartoons I had to submit every now and then.
Looking back, my short yet eventful time in ASJ was full of good memories to look back on—I find it almost hard to believe that all of them took place in only one year. I honestly wish it could’ve been more. And now, ASJ has reached 20 years of service, educating and rais ing students to become well-rounded people. In the following years or even decades ahead, my only wish is for it to continue nurturing and guiding its newcomers, to give them another place to call home, and to be a boon for good memories just like it was for me. [R]

MayASJ continue to develop its academic programs and adapt through the changing times yet retain the best practices that it inherited through its supervising entity. To continue to give service to others through its reach-out activities and community projects. And to continue to strengthen the spir itual and moral values of children through activities that will mold them as better individuals in the future. Thus, continuing its leg acy to teach minds, touch hearts and transform lives.

This definitely calls for celebration. True enough, there’s no easy way to success. Likewise, it was not an easy journey to your 20th. With all of its turns and bumps, it was winding and uneven. But look where you are now—a thriving school in Cavite. Nothing, not even the pandemic, can stop you. Indeed, hard work pays off, and prayers work miracles. To our dearest ASJ, your birth may have been unexpected, having been born out of a tumultuous situation, but like a tiny star in a vast sky, may you continue to shine and reflect your light until it sur passes the magnificence of the sunrise or sunset. All the best to you and to all the stakeholders. Long live ASJ!

One word: Mission
Some will say it’s tiring, Some will say it’s boring But to ASJ, it’s a devotion For 20 years,
ASJ has served, and continues to serve Providing the community with what they deserve Facing every challenge and conquering all fears
With a strong sense of community, Never did ASJ give up Never did ASJ stop Here’s to more years of success, to more years of unity!

In the 20 years of Academy of Saint John, We stood as a community and as one Projects done with good intentions To praise God and accomplish our missions We grew closer to one another, So close, in fact, that we’ve basically become brothers This school transformed our lives With challenges that have arrived
We all have a mission to fulfill until the end With blood, tears, and sweat to spend We unite as a community with others, In achieving a mission and give what we can offer Our relationship with God Is strengthened with communion We accept missions even if it's odd As we are to love God in this institution We unite to fulfill one thing, We relate to keep on recovering From the challenges in his mission We will see a perfect vision.

To see is to believe Two heads are better than one
To give is to receive

Jesus in our hearts, forever.” This Lasallian prayer is one of the ways to end a prayer in a Lasallian Fashion. A prayer that was taught to us the day that we first came into this school. A prayer that holds an important part of our Lasallian culture. A prayer that strengthens our spirit of faith.
“Live Jesus in our hearts, forever” means that we live by the values that Jesus taught us. Values that will not only help us but will also help other people, such as being loving, caring, and doing the right thing. As we recite this prayer, we are reminded to talk, speak, and act according to the teachings of Jesus.
Let this prayer remind us of the spirit of faith that makes us Lasallians. Let this prayer remind us of what being Lasallian is all about. As Lasallians, let us make Jesus present in our daily lives! Live Jesus in our Hearts, forever! [R]
Written by Raj Remmor Cruz Writer, Batch 2022-2023Ihave grown fondly attracted to this weird nostalgic atmosphere of crowded hallways and noisy rooms. Those rooms that smell oddly like wall paint and wet hardwood in the morning. I have grown fondly in love with the light hearted conversations of each student towards their teachers. I have grown attracted to that ambiance of learning and understanding.
I have grown fondly in love with our school. With every little speck of detail into its flaws and differences. This school has become a second home of mine. The passion to grow and the commitment to teach was overpouring. The energy to give efforts and the love of those teach ers for their students was heartwarming and wholesome.
So on this anniversary of our school, I once again thank you for be ing and having the perfect environment for students to learn. May God be the glory, and may Saint John Baptist De Lasalle guide you in your journey of educating young minds. [R]
Written by Joana Kiara Frando Writer, Batch 2022-2023Aswe celebrate the 20th Founding Anniversary of ASJ, I took a moment of silence to appreciate everything ASJ has done. I then realized how much ASJ helped a lot of people. ASJ has a perfectly balanced performance, when it comes to the three Lasallian core values. But what I admire the most, is how ASJ performs the second Lasallian Core Value, Zeal for Service. This Lasallian attribute is the act of whole heartedly giving oneself to serve others, in gratitude, generosity, and commitment. ASJ didn’t only serve its students, it also served other people outside the school, and served them with love, passion, and care.
During my stay in ASJ, I was able to witness myself the service ASJ provides. I wasn’t only able to witness it though, I was also taught to serve, and experienced serving other people. I was able to help a lot of people through ASJ. I can still remember the community ser vices and the fund drives we had back then. I felt great, being able to help other people even through my little ways. ASJ helped me realize the importance in serving, and developed my heart for service.
Not only does ASJ give quality education, it also gives fun and valuable experiences to its students. With these small acts of kindness, kids are able to develop their care for other people and the world, and practice service themselves. This is important, for it’s a milestone in creating great leaders that would have a heart for service, and are willing to help without expecting anything in return. I thank ASJ for teaching us this virtue, and showing us a good example in life. [R]
Written by Zoeline Honrado Writer, Batch 2022-2023For the past 20 years, and counting, ASJ has been touching hearts, teaching minds, and transforming lives. The journey was, indeed, not a simple one, as it was a rocky ride. But as they say, every great thing must first overcome problems and barriers in order to flourish and be worthwhile in the end. There might be uncertainties at first, but the wait was well worth it when we see what ASJ has become. That is why everyone who has contributed to ASJ's success, everyone who has stayed and helped over the past 20 years, everyone who has always believed and had faith, deserves to be recognized and appreciated. Without these people, ASJ would not be where it is now.
ASJ has been a home for many individuals. It is where “one” person becomes “someone.” It is where students let out and develop their skills, knowledge, and talents they didn’t expect they have. ASJ is a place where you learn a lot of things and you are with people who also learn and grow with you. With that, what I wish for ASJ is that it continues to inspire learners to the greatest extent possible, that it continues to provide high-quality education, and that it continues to be a family. A family that shapes and strengthens you to become a better person someday who may be someone of help to society in the future. I wish nothing but more success and more power. May the flaming fire continue to burn, and the spirit of green be forever embraced! Happy 20th Birthday, ASJ! Animo La Salle! [R]

I’ve spent six years of my life as a student in ASJ, and I’d be lying if I said that my experience here is dull. In just 6 years, I’ve experienced a lot of things that were once very new to me, like representing the school in quiz bees a couple of times. I met a lot of unique people in this school, some of which became my friends for a long time and some of which taught me valuable lessons. Since I’ll be leaving the school next year, I would like to thank all of the people that I met through out my 6-year journey here in ASJ. Without y’all, I’ll have a difficult time growing since there will be no one to serve as my guide. [R]

First and foremost, happy 20th anniversary, Academy of Saint John! Indeed, the time has really flown fast. For the past 20 years, you have served many students, educators, and staff. Congratulations for touching countless lives, especially during this pandemic. Continued high-quality service was giv en despite the shock given by the circumstance. Different activities were done for the common good and the continued enhancement of skills and leadership of the students. You have formed us, not only academically, but also holisti cally. Thank you, Academy of Saint John, for these fruitful years and count ing. Once again, Congratulations, and happy 20th anniversary! [R]
Written by Trisha Ilar Feature Writer, Batch 2022-2023To be honest, I’m still not sure what to say. I actually don’t think I’m good with words; I just like trying to make them sound good. So, for my message for ASJ, here’s a little poem. It’s the best way I can express myself.
Look, I haven’t been here for long A lot less than half a thousand days Still, I know that here I belong At this roller-coaster ride of a place Life taught us that time flies fast Lest we forget the journey’s just begun In honor of the twenty years past And the many more years to come Never shall we fail.

Aswe celebrate the 20th founding anniversary of this wonderful school, I am proud to be a Lasallian. I wish that ASJ’s community grows more and expands even beyond General Trias. I wish that in all events and projects, we will continue to inspire others through our words and deeds, and I wish that in the coming years Academy of Saint John will still stand strong.
In this school, 20 years of happy memories can be found, with more still waiting to be made. This school has produced countless well-rounded citizens through its quality education and the values that it imposes to every student. I’m sure the history and the current standing of this school will continue to inspire newcomers to never give up just the way it did in my first year in being in ASJ, and that is why I thank this school very much. So, to the Academy of Saint John, HAPPY 20TH ANNIVERSARY. Animo La Salle! [R]
Written by Liam Vizmanos Writer, Batch 2022-2023First of all, happy 20th founding anniversary, ASJ! This school has made a big impact on my life and taught me many lessons that I still carry with me until now. During my twelve years at this school, I have made many new friends and met many teachers who have seen me grow from a little, kinder student to someone who is now a Grade 10 student. I can say that being here and studying here is such a blessing. You have not only made a big change in the lives of the students, but you have also had a great impact on the community. This school is such an inspiration— from nothing, from scratch, to something that is, well, as successful as it is today! This school has shown the people, the community, that even at the lowest part of our lives, we must not give up; we must make the change ourselves! Maybe the success in life we are looking for is just outside the window, and we are just not looking at it. Maybe the success we are yearning for is right there, but we are just not looking hard enough.
I wish the school would continue the work, continue inspiring people, and continue being a wonderful school for future students. I wish the school to be more successful in the future—for the students, for the teachers, for everyone. Once again, happy 20th founding anniversary, ASJ! Forever kaming berde, Animo La Salle! [R]
Ever since I transferred here in ASJ back when I was 5 years old, I had the best moments of my life set into action. Back then, I already had a feeling that school would be something greater than anything I expected it to be. A few years later, ASJ proved that feeling right.
With almost 9 years of studying here in ASJ, I have experienced and witnessed a lot in this school. I’ve experienced the fun activities, witnessed events that helped a lot of people, and even encountered challenges that made us stronger than ever. The memorable moments that I’ve had here in ASJ are too many for me to count. The online modality, though it was hard, was an experience worth being proud of. It was very unexpected, and challenged every one of us. That challenge taught us lots of lessons that would be useful in the future (so let’s not hate it that much). We may have been through a lot during the pandemic, but what matters most is that we’re still here standing, and even stronger than ever.
Looking back, I can see clearly the changes (for the bet ter). A great number of accomplishments were achieved, many structures were made, A lot of lovely people met. I can still remember my early days here in ASJ… I was nervous at first, but everyone made me comfortable in a matter of days. It feels like it was just two days ago that I was in Grade 1, pulling my roller bag and first setting foot in my classroom… It’s amazing, really, to see how far we’ve gone.
I would like to give my thanks to you, ASJ. You taught me a lot of lessons in life. You helped me a lot in building my charac ter and developing my personality. I thank you for the love and care you have given me. ASJ became my second home, and everyone there became my family as well. I hope that ASJ would live longer, and continue to teach minds, touch hearts, and transform lives. [R]

Lasallian Assembly of Student Officers
I often discuss how ASJ has impacted my life, through the good and the bad times. But all in all, I believe there is no academic institution more capable and caring. ASJ thrives off of student interaction and culture, which is why I’m sure that I will forever look back on my time here fondly. I wish that ASJ reaches the prosperity and recognition it deserves.
On ASJ’s 20th anniversary, my wish is for ASJ to be an official La Salle school. I hope it gains more students in the coming years.
Written by Yna Leuterio Secretary, Lasallian Assembly of Student Officers
My wish for ASJ is that it achieves all of its goals in the future. I wish that ASJ would last for a very long time and never end as it continuously produces students who exhibit characteristics according to our vision and mission. When it comes to the students, I hope that what they have learned in ASJ may remain with them outside the school, inspiring others. I wish for the never-ending success of the school.

I would like to congratulate the Academy of Saint John for reaching the 20th anniversary. It has been a long and bumpy road, but all of you managed to stand up and remain firm despite all the struggles. To that, I say “thank you.” Thank you for being an inspiration to students and showing them what it means to be a Lasallian. Hopefully, this school will further flourish with God’s guidance.
Written by Kianne De Guzman Grade 9 – St. Bernard Written by Liam Lujero Grade 9 – St. LorenzoI’ve spent the entirety of my student life here in ASJ, and I’d be lying if I said it doesn’t have a special place in my heart, especially after all the years I’ve spent here. There were ups and downs, of course, but that hasn’t stopped it from being the perfect environment for friendship, creativity, and knowledge for each student.
I hope that through all the challenges that the school and its individuals will face, they remain steadfast and maintain the qualities that they uphold, while still improving what needs to be. I hope that ASJ manages to give the same, if not better experience than it has given me to all its future students. After all, it’s a school’s job to frame our worlds and show its different hues.
In my 12 years here in ASJ, all I can say is that I’m really glad to be part of the Lasallian family. I have learned a lot and made many new friends, which made me realize how friendly and accepting this community is. The teachers and staff are really caring and professional. And I just want to thank this school for teaching me values that will help me in the future. All I wish is that this school will expand and continue to grow and spread Christian values throughout the Philippines. May this school touch more hearts and inspire more students to be good citizens of this country.
