Letter from the Publisher Dr. Anita M. Jackson As the publisher of the I Am Enough Magazine, it is my job to identify ways to further advance the message of I Am Enough. As a woman, it is my heart’s deepest desire to have all women worldwide come to the spiritual and visceral truth that they are enough not because of what they have done, or what they give, or where they have been in their lives, but purely and unapologetically because of who they are in their body, soul and spirit. It is in this knowledge and truth that a woman’s worth, value, and self-love will empower her to a higher level of living, fulfillment and satisfaction that will not only transform her life, but her family, friends, clients, neighborhood, community and then, the world.

When both are combined, purpose and passion to make a difference in my life and yours, there is no limits to what can happen. It is this truth that influenced my team and me to make some changes to the I Am Enough Magazine and website as we inspire to make a global impact for women everywhere.

First, we have added a new category to what we’re offering called, “Authentic Voice Mastery.” In this category, we want to empower you to learn how to powerfully speak your thoughts, feelings, voice and truth, whether in words or in writing, in such a way that others see you, hear you and honor all of you because you honor your own authentic voice.

Next, we have combined Health and Wellness Mastery into a new category titled, “Lifestyle Mastery.” We believe that when every aspect of a woman’s life is balanced, enjoyable and fulfilled with things that supports her femininity, such as good healthy food, empowering exercises like bellydancing, style, resources that make you feel luxurious, travel, and beauty, then a woman becomes and lives a healthier life.

Letter from the Executive Editor Cindy Adkins Dear Reader, Autumn is different things to different people. For some, it’s all about football games and backyard bonfires, and for others it’s jack ’o lanterns, ghosts and goblins. Still others love fall for its perfect sweater weather, and colorful leaves that crunch beneath our feet on walks through the woods. Fall signals an end of summer, but the beginning of so many things; a new season, a new school year, and the beginning of the holidays. Perhaps more than any other time during the year, with the exception of New Years, autumn seems to be a time to “regroup and refocus,” which just happens to be the theme of this month’s issue of I AmEnough Magazine.

For me personally, this fall I’m refocusing my thoughts and energy on my new position as executive editor for I Am Enough Magazine. I’m so honored and excited to be working with so many talented writers and the whole team! With this in mind, I know I’ll be using a lot of the advice found in the pages of this month’s issue. Within the magazine, you’ll discover how essential oils can help with your confidence and help you stay grounded and focused. ecoming and being an I Am Enough woman truly is a spiritual and transformational journey. At the core, self-love is one of the strongest truths a woman must learn if she wants to experience a higher level of success in her personal life and business. Yet many of us have a weakened, limited or misunderstanding of this truth about selflove. Simply put, self-love is the full ability to give and receive love from and for yourself in order for life and others to experience more of you.

The past six months for me has been a beautiful and transformational journey of evolving and embodying even more deeply my spiritual and visceral truth of “I Am Enough.� As I find such a rich peace within my own self about who I am as a feminine success transformational coach,

business builder and global leader, I noticed that higher levels of opportunities and success started to manifest when I took my selfcare regime to the next level.

As women, we are forever running from one activity to the next.

It is crucial for us to understand that biologically, mentally and emotionally, we are not designed to function in overwhelm, doing so only leads to frustration, mood disorders, stress and burnout, which ultimately affects our bottom-line in attracting more of everything we are wanting in life and for our business. Increasing my daily self-care regime has become my number one activity in helping me stay health, spiritually empowered and enlightened, grounded, and open to my next level of outrageous success in my personal life and my business.

Today, I want to share one of my favorite ways for me to stay healthy, grounded, and empowered in strengthening my confidence and receiving muscles as a woman – using essential oils.

Kings and Queens of history used essential oils as part of their spiritual and wellness practices, as well as for positioning of status, as essential oils were more costly than silver and gold and having a large supply indicated a level of wealth and abundance.

Today, medical research agencies such as the National Cancer Institute (www.cancer.gov ), National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy (www.naha.org/ explore-aromatherapy/research), and many others are now showing the powerful effects of essential oils on major health and disease issues.

So, what are essential oils and what is the best way to use them? Essential oils are the extraction of oils from plants, flowers, rind of fruits, and from trees through the distillation or cold press process. Essential oils are used for a wide range of emotional and physical wellness applications, and can be used as a single oil one at a time or in complex blends in one of three methods:

The time of year when nature starts changing its colors and the golden leaves begin to fall. We gather the harvest and the fruit of our labors from the past season as we prepare for dark winter.

As we watch nature, there is much that we can learn. Pay attention and you will notice animals preparing for the cold of winter; squirrels storing food, and other animals building shelter below ground as they prepare for hibernation. Perennial trees are shedding their leaves, all in anticipation for winter. Even in the process of shedding and letting go, nature has a way of showing up in all its glory. According to traditional Chinese medicine, the season of autumn is paired with the energies of the lungs and the large intestine. Both of these are organs of elimination and thus provide you with the opportunity to let go of both physical and emotional charges. By letting go of those charges, you now make room for new opportunities for the upcoming year.

In Buddhism, fall relates to Anicca, the practice of impermanence; the understanding that nothing in life is permanent. Therefore, releasing attachment allows you to release suffering. It is similar to the Hindu practice of Samsara, which relates to the cycles of birth and death.

As the earth and Mother Nature prepare for winter, hibernation and the season of dying, there is always the knowledge that spring will follow with new birth. Know that in your life things will come and go; relationships, jobs and opportunities.

Find yourself a quiet spot, maybe at home or somewhere out in nature.

Grab a pen and a notebook or journal, and then take a few moments to center yourself. Whether you choose to meditate or just do some deep breathing, bring yourself to a calm state where you have a clear mind and you are free of distractions, ready to go within.

Begin by taking inventory, slowing down just enough to notice how far you’ve come this year. Find out what it might take for you to stay on track with your goals and possibly surpass them. Review all areas of your life to assess where you stand.

t’s September. Wow! How did that happen? Wasn’t it just January? Time to reflect on our goals for the year, see how far we’ve gotten (or not gotten), and refresh and refocus ourselves to make the fullest, best use of the rest of the year!

Here’s a tip to open things up for the rest of your year; open up to speaking in your authentic voice.

I’m going to let you in on a secret; your usual voice is not your authentic voice. I’m all about authentic voice. I work with clients to open up their full range of self-expression, and their ability to speak in their authentic voice. Often, when I ask a client to try a new level of expression, or a new way of speaking, they get uncomfortable, and say it doesn’t feel authentic. Or, they tell me they feel like they’re acting.

You think your voice is just the way it is, and mostly you take it for granted. Actually you have made unconscious decisions about how to sound, how to speak. You’re comfortable staying within those old habits, and your old habits of speech are holding you back.

In fact, we usually discover that the new behavior is more genuine, more authentic than the old, because the old behavior was based on an outdated story, or a story that was never true in the first place. You have far more expressive range than you usually use. Your habits of speech have got your voice in a box.

You hold your voice back because of things you were told (or told yourself) about how it is okay to sound or okay to speak. You hold your voice back because of experiences you had (like being humiliated in front of the class, or being abused). When you hold your voice back, you hold yourself back.

That box you’ve put your voice in is not the whole of you. Just because parts of you have been shushed and silenced doesn’t mean they aren’t there. When you add more expression and emotion to your voice, that’s more you. When you speak in different voices, that’s you. When you speak with more power and confidence than usual, that’s you. It’s all authentic.

You’ve heard the phrase “think outside the box.” Well, you need to speak outside the box you’ve created for your voice. Changing those habits of speech is a fabulous tool for shifting habits of being that are no longer serving you. Evolving your voice is crucial to evolving yourself.

f you’ve read any of my previous articles, you know that I have three young children.

The other day, one of them asked me what I was doing....

Son: “What are you doing, Momma?”

Me: “I’m writing an article for a magazine. It’s about using your voice. What would you say about using your voice, honey?”

Son: “Use a nice voice. Don’t yell.”

Me: “That’s very good advice.

Thanks, Love.”

Sometimes, we get so passionate about our topic, our area of expertise, that when we write about it, it sounds as if we are yelling at people. Yet writing that way, even by accident, can damage your credibility and severely weaken your message. People begin to tune you out, ignore your emails, pass over your e-books, and dismiss you as someone who might be a good speaker but is a really obnoxious writer. So, how can you take my four year old’s advice of

“Don’t yell” when you are writing?

If you did put a dramatic and heavy pause after each word in a spoken conversation, it would be considered hostile. It is equally hostile in writing. Plus, it looks terrible.

The most important piece of advice I can give you, though, to help you stop yelling when you write, is to be careful of the words that you use.

Words have power. Sometimes, we use words that have too much power, or at least more power than what is needed in that particular passage. For example, the word must is a power word. Say it out loud. Did you feel the forceful expulsion of air from your lungs as you shaped the word? It reads with the same force that you feel in your body as you say it. If you are an entrepreneur, take a look at your call to action documents (your lead page, your contact me page, offer email, etc). Do you use the word must when telling people to contact you? If so, read those statements out loud.

Do they sound as inviting as you intended for them to sound? Or do they sound bossy and maybe even slightly superior? I’m not saying that you can’t ever use the word must. I am saying that you should use it judiciously. Many other words fall into this same category of being power words because of the force they have in their pronunciation. It has less to do with their meaning, and more to do with how they feel when you speak them: stop, go, push, no. Use this type of power word, yes! But always make sure that it is communicating the level of power that you intend: not too little, but also not too much.

Other words are power words because of the meaning that we give them. Overusing or misusing these words can also make the reader feel as if you are yelling at them. The word intention falls into this category. Intention

is a very strong word because it carries the meaning of not only making a firm decision but also making that decision known to the Universe by speaking it out loud or writing it down (or both).

If you misuse this word or use it too much, your readers will begin to put less and less importance on your intentions, because they just won’t believe that those intentions mean that much to you in light of your careless use of the word. Your reader will tune out your message because you’re trying too hard to be emphatic (yelling!).

We all want our writing to make an impact. We want our voices to be heard in whatever medium we are using to communicate.

Try, as easily as you can, to make your writing sound as powerful as it would be if you were having a face to face conversation with someone about what makes you feel alive. I say “as easily as you can” because writing from your heart is not as hard as people often think it is. Once you get out of your head and stop trying so hard to be heard and to make an impact, you might find that your writing more closely echoes the beating of your heart. That, My Friends, is what people want to read. It’s the beating of your heart that can change the world, and a beating heart seldom yells.

eptember is a great time of year for reflection. It can be a time to regroup and refocus, and make changes in our lives. It’s never too late to take a look inside ourselves and realize we are not who we want to be; we are not relating, communicating, we are not living the life we want.

We are enough, no matter what our life is like, but we may want more, and it is possible to create the life we want. Every day is a great day to begin “Anew You”.

Anew, according to Webster, means over again, once more, or in a new or different form.

Do you like your “form”? Is your form, or life, what, or where, you would like it to be? If yes, great - you seem to have your journey mapped out and going in the right direction, with all of the correct stops. You are a great “pilot” and must have a wonderful crew; you can coast through turbulence until you choose to land. However, if, in examining the question and taking time to be introspective, you’re not sure if your “form” is the way you want, take a moment to look at yourself from a multi-dimensional perspective.

No one has a “perfect” life.

When we choose to examine where we are and what we’re doing to live our life to the best of our ability, we can then choose to be balanced and happy with the life we have - even if it doesn’t look like anyone else’s life. Socrates stated “The unexamined life is not worth living.” If we do not take the time to examine or inventory what we have, what we want, who we are, who we want to be, then how can we make changes for the better and “live the dream” we are creating?

It’s up to each one of us to identify our journey and then create a map leading us to our destination. This map allows for twists, turns, detours, and stops along the way. The key to having a successful journey is we, as the pilots, determine how to get back on track and what changes need to be made to reach our final destination. Even when we’re close to where we think we want to be, our journey may change -but we can still reach our desired destination as long as we are examining where we are now and where we want to go.

In regards to our journey, we do not complete the entire trip in one day. Often, it takes a long time for us to fully achieve our destination in each of the five areas of our lives. So to make the journey more attainable, we create “stops” or “mini-vacations.” This seems to serve us at the time, and may be due to

not knowing where to go next.

Which “road less traveled” should we choose? In regards to the five areas; physical health, emotional/mental health, financial health, spiritual health and an abundant lifestyle, I encourage you to take time and write down your goals/dreams/aspirations for each area. There is no right or wrong answer. These are your goals, you’re beginning to outline/define parts of your journey. Once you have the end result, if possible, give a date/time of when you would like to achieve it. Next, define sub-goals, with a time frame of when you will achieve those.

It’s okay if you want to concentrate only on one or two of the areas right now. This may be similar to goal setting you’ve done in the past. If it is familiar, and this helps you put your multi-dimensional life in a different perspective, great! If this is something you have not done in the past, the idea of goal setting is to have a better idea of where you are now, and where you want to be in the future.

Being introspective, taking time to examine our lives, our goals, our wants, our needs, is important. It’s a requirement, actually, to make cognitive, positive choices which move us along the various stopping points and attractions on our journey to a more balanced and fulfilled life.

Anyone can make changes. We can move, quit our jobs, divorce, go on vacation, do anything that is different from what we normally do in our everyday

I Forgot to Have Emotional & Mental Mastery

hen she was alive, Mom used to send funny articles and magnets for my fridge. A favorite: a drawing of a woman, dramatically posed with hand to forehead and the phrase: “Oh god, I forgot to have children!”

I laughed when I saw it, because of the suddenness portrayed. You either want children or you don’t. It’s not something you forget to do.

This is exactly how we live our lives: we either want to do something or we don’t. Forgetting has nothing to do with it. We do the things we really want to do, and we don’t do the things that we don’t want to do.

Far from being a judgment, this understanding can be an act of freedom.

September is often a time when you stop and review progress for the year: you look back at the goals set in January and realize, “Oh no, I forgot to lose 20 pounds, I forgot to start running, I forgot to work on my business, I forgot to start meditating every day.”

Rather than using the autumn checkin as another reason to beat yourself up, try this instead: look back over the first 8 months of the year, and realize you are not failing at your goals—you are simply clarifying what you do and do not want to do.

Relationship Mastery

Yours, Mine and

Ours

here are a few questions that dictate the course of your life; not just part of your life, but your journey through this world in its entirety.

These are a few of those questions that you can’t ask too often, especially at the rate you are growing and changing. The first question to ask yourself is who am I? the second: why am I here? and the third: what really matters to me? Now is not only the perfect time to reflect on these questions, it is the only time.

When you take the time to meditate on the questions above, your subconscious will answer by revealing your deepest values.

When you become intimately acquainted with your values you can powerfully influence your relationships - not just your romantic relationships, but all your relationships.

Yours It’s easy when you first get into a relationship, there is a certain fascination with the newness of it all. You are getting to know your partner, you are sharing yourself with them, everything is wonderful. This is often referred to as “the honeymoon phase,” often lasting a few months. Many relationships don’t make it out IAE { 24

of this phase for many reasons, though one of the main reasons is the fact that the fascination you experienced in the beginning of the relationship begins to wane.

So what can you do when your partner’s shiny wears off?

When you notice the fascination that once drove you to spend your every moment with your partner begins to fade, start getting curious about your partner. Take an interest in getting to know them on an even deeper level; get to know who they really are inside.

Learn their values, their desires, the things that really matter to them. This will keep the excitement going in your relationship and open up new opportunities for intimacy and communication.

Make sure to keep yourself in balance as you get curious about your partner. It’s easy to lose yourself in the relationship if all your focus is on them.

Mine You must take time to be curious about yourself too. It is important that you know who you are, even though that may evolve as you grow and change. Your likes and dislikes will likely change throughout your life, but your values are connected to the es-

sence of who you are. Picture your inner self as a set of concentric circles; your values are close to the inside, likes and dislikes are close to the outside. This makes likes and dislikes a lot of fun to play with, but if you get too involved with them you are likely to get lost and forget who you really are at your core.

If you feel lost, start to ask yourself: Why am I here? What matters to me? Why is that important? Keep going until you reach a level where you can’t dig any deeper - this will be your value.

Often, concepts such as freedom, integrity, love, etc. will arise through this process and give you the opportunity to connect to who you are right now; not who you were or who you will be, but who you are now. Knowing who you are will allow you to reconnect with your essence.

Keep in mind, your values are yours. Your partner may not share your values or they might share the same words but mean totally different things to the two of you.

Just because you both value freedom does not mean that you share the same value because you don’t know what freedom means to them. Of course, you can discuss what this means to each of you, but keep in mind that your partner may not share your values.

Ours Values are responsible for several things within your relationships; they are the foundation upon which the rest of your relationship is built. This does not mean that your values need to be identical to those of your partner; in fact, you don’t want them to be.

You want some differentiation between the two of you because it creates mystery, it makes your partner interesting and it deepens the attraction between you.

There will, of course, be some measure of overlap when it comes to the values of you and your partner. Think of your values like a Venn Diagram; you have your circle of values, your partner has theirs and the two of you share the area in the center. This overlap is a connection point, a place where intimacy is born.

These core values are the place where you can be curious with your partner, the place where you form the foundation for the life you want to create together. This is what people feel when they experience the two of you together.

When you get really in touch with what lives in this space, people will feel it, even when your partner is not physically present because of the strength of your connection.

Your individual circles can be fun places to connect as well;

these are the things that keep your partner fun and interesting. These values give you something to explore, something to be curious about. As you explore together, you may learn something new and exciting, a perspective you might never have stumbled upon on your own. There are endless possibilities to where you can go together when your relationship starts with your values.

Don’t worry if you are in a relationship already. It’s never too late to start exploring this realm with your partner; you can always recreate your relationship based on your shared values. You can make it an adventure as you can get to know your partner all over again. Remember, both of you are constantly growing and changing, so enjoy getting to know your partner again - and let them enjoy getting to know you.

If you neglect money, your relationship with it will not be healthy

ust think if someone said the following to you: “I don’t care about you.” “I don’t want a relationship with you.”

“I don’t like you.” “I don’t want to spend time or energy on or with you.” “You frustrate and intimidate me; I hate having to deal with you.” Do you think you would lean into that relationship?

That you would want to spend time and invest in a relationship with someone who said those things to you or felt that way about you? I wouldn’t want to spend time on something or with someone that made me feel that way or said those things to me.

Yet, frequently this is how we feel about money, how we speak to it and interact with it. This doesn’t encourage a healthy, supportive relationship. Plus, why would you personally want to spend time with something you felt this way about?

Your relationship with money is just like any other relationship in your life. If you neglect the relationship, feel that money will IAE { 26

leave you, or create some sort of power struggle, the relationship becomes unhealthy. The good news about this is that you can decide to shift your relationship and be willing to invest time and energy into it to build a healthy and thriving relationship with your money….but the catch is you have to be willing to lean in and lead the relationship in this way. do and be. Then it has time (you have time) to build a firm foundation and really connect in a powerful, healthy, and balanced way with your money on both a practical and profound level. You have many practical steps you can take to build the relationship and numbers you want, and need, to bring your life and message forward. But, you have to remember you have a great deal of control over this in how you relate to money. Are you really adding up the choices you’re making with your money (both income coming in and money flowing out)? Are you prioritizing those things that are most important to you, and building these things into your relationship with money?

It’s really important to pause and look at your relationship with money. Is it healthy, balanced, and warm? Or are there some charged and negative emotions and feelings associated with it? Where did these feelings associated with it come from -- our family, mentors, growing up, a hurtful experience? Is this the type of relationship you want with money? If not, what is the type of relationship you would like to have?

If you are willing to spend a little time and understand your current relationship with money, it gives you a great starting place to make a shift. You then want to spend time reflecting on how you would like the relationship to look, feel, and be. Then you get support and build a plan to start shifting your interaction in the equation and relationship with your money. Please note that others in your life can also be affected by your relationship with money and when you start shifting, they may be supportive and excited for you, or they may not like the shift and change.

So, make sure to build in support to encourage you on your journey and keep you in a leadership position in choosing the relationship you want to have with money.

Don’t let anyone else dictate or limit your relationship with money. You want to be empowered and moving forward, not held back or limited by another. This is your thriving money relationship we are building!

JUST DO IT?

Stop making excuses and procrastinating and just do it.

ver 25 years ago, Nike launched one of its most successful ads called, “Just Do It.” It was a tough, take no prisoners ad that quickly helped Nike increase its market share. The philosophy behind the ad was to stop making excuses and procrastinating and just do it. Well, that is easier said than done. There are many examples: exercise, start your diet, stay on your diet, clean the spare room or garage, organize your closet, quit smoking, quite drinking, or tear yourself away from the TV. Are you one of millions who don’t “just do it?”

Negative tasks, and those with a future payoff, are the ones we neglect.

For example, dieting is a negative, and the payoff of a new, fit, skinny you is months away. Throwing the cookies and candy in the garbage and eating nuts is painful and boring, and it takes too darn long to drop those desired pounds. “What the heck,” you say as you gobble another cookie, “I’ll start getting skinny tomorrow.”

Let’s try something different.

Sometimes change can get us motivated. It doesn’t have to require much energy, and friend of mine who is a psychologist in behavior modification said it works.

It’s a first step, and it’s simple. It involves keeping records, one of several protocols in behavior modification programs. We utilize this protocol at Choose 2 Embrace Life.

For example, if you want to lose weight, keep a notebook and pencil handy at all times and record what and when you eat and drink. Omit nothing. Record everything as you do it. Don’t worry about the calories, just jot in your record book: “handful of cookies” or “the whole dang bag.” The main thing is to get off your behind and record everything you eat. Every time your will power fails and you indulge in another trans-fat boo-boo, record it.

choose to do. For example, for every half-hour of walking, allow yourself to watch one hour of TV. If you don’t do it, you don’t get to watch. Stick to it and don’t cheat.

It’s all about control. If you can’t control yourself, you’re screwed.

Success is a choice away. Decide to record and reward the desired behavior. Decide you’ve had enough of whatever you do, or don’t do, that makes you unhappy. Choose 2 Embrace Life. Just do it.

If you want to watch less TV, do the same thing. Record when and what you watch. Keep track of when you start and stop watching, and for every thirty minutes that you’re not watching television, make a stroke in your book. Five strokes mean two and a half hours of TV abstinence. Don’t cheat. Thorough record keeping is an easy way to control bad habits.

Your notebook and pencil can clean that cluttered closet too. Whenever you think of cleaning it, make a mark in your book and keep track of the marks. Soon, a sense of, “this is ridiculous” will overcome you, and rather than mark it down, you’ll get started on it. Also, keep track of the time you actually spend cleaning the closet. For every 10 minutes you’re involved in cleaning, make a mark in your book. Keep doing it; keep accumulating marks and soon the closet will be clean. Don’t feel guilty if you aren’t cleaning. Just remember to make a mark in your book for every 10 minutes you are cleaning.

love fall, and to me it feels much like New Years! As the seasons change, and children return to school, I’m always inspired to regroup, refocus, and reassess how I will move forward in my life and business. Like Kristin Armstrong shares in the quote above, I feel a sense of openness, hopefulness, newness, and gratitude as the seasons of life move forward; just as naturally as summer turns to fall.

As a “life stylist” I love helping clients maximize the impact of routines and seize the opportunities inherent in the changing of seasons. Today I am sharing 8 ways you can use the transition into fall to improve your lifestyle. Choose one of these ideas, or choose them all, but each of these items can allow you to reap great rewards if you apply them and take consistent, inspired action for positive change.

Reassess your health routines and get on track with exercise, nutrition and sleep.

Fall is a great time to start exercising regularly, improve nutrition habits, and adjust sleep patterns. I believe that what you eat, how you move your body, and how much you sleep, are the most powerful ways to improve health, vitality, and energy,

along with stress reduction. Decide when you will exercise and put it on your calendar. Identify one specific way you will improve your diet and implement it today or tomorrow. Determine how to get more sleep if you need to. Will you go to sleep earlier or wake up later? How will you make this happen and what support do you need to make these changes?

Pause to reflect and celebrate your accomplishments so far this year.

Sometimes we fail to pause and celebrate our accomplishments. Instead, we move directly to the next project, task, or goal. Take a few minutes right now to write down and reflect on 2-3 things you have accomplished in your life and business this year (4-6 things, total). Then, pull out your agenda and schedule a celebration dinner, massage, or day off to revel in the beauty of what you have already done— before you move on to the next thing. Then build celebration into your daily, weekly, monthly, and annual routines. After all, you work hard and you deserve to celebrate and to be celebrated!

Determine one special project to complete before the end of this year.

What would you love to complete before December 31st? For example,

I want to publish my first book and affirmation deck. Write down what it is for you and break it down into action steps. Identify step one and put it on your calendar. For me this is emailing an invitation to prospective co-authors for the book (it is a multi-author book) and writing all of the affirmations and sending them to my graphic designer. When step one is complete, put step two on your calendar. Proceed until your project is complete! Be sure to build in accountability and get the support you need to make this happen.

Revisit your vision and values and make sure you are on track for what you really desire.

When it comes to behavior change and reaching your goals, one of the most powerful things to do is to stay connected to your vision and values.

Sometimes we can get busy and lose sight of what we truly desire. This is a slippery slope for high-achieving personalities. I find that I must revisit my vision and values often in my business because I have four boys for whom I am the primary caregiver. I believe that I was created to be a mom and while I am very passionate about the work I do, I do not want it to interfere with my health or mothering. Yet I am called to impact the world beyond my family and to cre-

ate great wealth that will enable me to do great things, so I am constantly refining my journey to support this knowledge and desires. I encourage you to do the same.

Determine how you will prioritize personal and professional relationships this quarter and if any need special attention.

Speaking of relationships, how are yours? Which relationships are jumping out that could use some extra love and attention? Use autumn to allow relationships to fall away that need to and to sow seeds of love into the ones you want to nurture.

Sometimes relationships require pruning, fertilizing, and attention. In fact, they always require attention to be at their best. Schedule one conversation and/or date with a child or spouse and one with a colleague or business partner to share your love and improve your connection. In business, connection is currency, and in family, connection is everything.

Without connection our relationships can dry up and suffer. When your family relationships are full of fun and passion, it helps your business and finances to thrive as well.

Find time to clear clutter and create sacred space at home and the office.

A beautiful, clutter-free home and office will infuse you with energy, creativity and joy. Take time this month to create a sacred space at home and at the office. If you have a lot of work to do in this area I suggest starting with a single space like the bedroom or kitchen and your desk. Remove anything that no longer serves you or that does not bring you joy. Then reorganize what’s left in a pleasing and high-functioning way. Lastly, add beauty. Sales and the Law of Attraction

Raise your Vibration to Increase Results

ong before I knew anything about the Law of Attraction (LOA), I consciously developed three daily habits that I know increased my sales results dramatically. It wasn’t until years later, 16 to be exact, that I understood the daily rituals I had incorporated into my morning routine were three of the fundamental principles of the Law of Attraction—Gratitude, Meditation, and Visualization!

Almost from the beginning of my career in sales, I found myself consistently starting each new day with the same rituals. I didn’t have a name for the exercises back then, and I would have told you they were nothing more than little games I played, born out of necessity, to make my tedious commute tolerable. Looking back, I realize it was my intuition, paving the way for me to succeed with ease.

By the time I figured that out, I didn’t care if other people dismissed the LOA as a “woo-woo” theory. I’d already experienced first-hand the power and results of these action steps. They had launched my sales career with so much momentum that I was outrageously successful, steadily increasing results and income every year. So whether or not you subscribe to the LOA theory of creating your own reality, or believe in the power of focusing your thoughts to manifest a desired outcome, the action steps described in this article will contribute to your success.

Here’s a blueprint on how you can make a conscious choice to improve your well-being, which will influence everything in a positive way; client meetings, family relationships, and business results.

Gratitude:

I dropped my children off on my way to work each day. I wanted them to feel loved, appreciated, and happy. So we took turns saying, “I love you” and expressing gratitude for each other and all the gifts life bestowed upon us. It felt great to start our day on such a positive note.

Meditation: I then settled into traffic on the crowded freeway, heading east, into the sunrise. This was around the time “road rage” became a familiar term. I remember thinking, “I can either join society’s collective melt down, or make a conscious choice not to be outraged by traffic I could not control.”

Knowing nothing about meditation, I would sit back with eyes wide open, breath, and appreciate the morning view. I marveled at how different the same view could look every day and expressed gratitude for the beauty of Mother Nature’s daily painting. As I drove in this meditative state of mind called “being in the moment,” it promoted a sensation of stress falling away and created a quiet atmosphere of solitude where I was relaxed and free. I also let people merge into traffic or change lanes in front of me. As we waved and smiled at each other—magic happened! I felt better and people responded to me in a more positive way, all day, which directly increased sales!

Well, they can also pick up on authenticity, sincerity, and confidence—a grounded energy that comes from being relaxed.

Visualization: During my morning drive I found myself thinking, wishing really, that a particular client or sale would come to fruition. Soon after the coincidences began to happen. Clients would show up at my office door saying, “I don’t know why I am here. Just thought I should stop in.” The phone would ring and a client would say, “Yes, we want to move forward, can you see us later today”? I started to intentionally focus on three things I would like to have happen each day. The more things “came together” the more I believed and trusted this process. It may have started as a game, but by the time I realized how often these wishes materialized, I had formed a solid belief in the power of thought. I never worried about sales slumps because I had the proof. How could I argue with my own results? People were drawn to me, sales were easier, and my business flourished!

So purely by accident, intuition, or divine guidance, practicing Gratitude, Meditation, and Visualization on a daily basis served me very well.

My daily routine did more than make the ninety-minute drive to and from the city more tolerable; it actually transformed my commute into a special quiet time in which I could enjoy the moment.

Commuting became pure pleasure and I found myself arriving at the office in the morning and home again that evening, refreshed and renewed, ready to embrace life.

Creating a Sanctuary

have been an Interior Designer for 25+ years. I still practice. But since becoming a Certified Holistic Health Coach and launching my “Design Your Beautiful Life” Lifestyle Brand, I now ask my clients different questions. I like to begin by asking, “How do you want your home to feel”? It has been eye opening to me how few people can answer that question. They can usually tell me a color they like, or maybe a furniture style. They might say spacious, or cozy — and that’s better. But what about feelings, like energetic, joyful, playful or tranquil? Now we are getting somewhere.

You see, I think a home that supports your emotions and well-be-

ing is the new way to live. You deserve to open the door to a home designed to enhance your health in every way. You might say, “Wait, my home isn’t big enough.” Size isn’t the issue. We can create a beautiful sanctuary that welcomes you in small spaces just as well as larger homes.

Redesigning or re-purposing your whole home may sound daunting.

But let’s start by creating at least one space that you can use for the core of your health. A space that you can go to just “be.” You might use this space for your meditation, your yoga practice, to read a book or simply day dream. This space may just help you re-connect to what is important in your life.

Creating your own space (or what

I call sanctuary) lets you express your human need for spiritual nourishment. This space can be as simple as a mat on the floor, a cozy nook or a whole room if you have the room. This space can contain a single object such as an altar, statue or sculpture. Or, it can be a full room (inside or out) arranged with furniture and accessories that have meaning for you.

This space should be a place of renewal. A place to find rest and create your own private retreat to recharge. It is about going inward so that you can get close to what is in your heart. From there, you can go out into the world a healthier and happy person, and share your gifts with the world.

RECIPE Matcha Green Tea Latte Matcha is a finely ground powder of specially grown and processed green tea. Because you are drinking the whole plant and not just the liquid, the health benefits far exceed regular green tea.

Ingredients

• 1 teaspoon matcha powder • 1/4 cup boiling water • 3/4 cup plain almond milk • honey to taste

Directions

Whisk 1 tsp matcha powder per serving with ¼ cup boiling water.

Heat milk and blend in blender.

Add frothy milk to tea.

Sweeten with honey to taste.

To start, decide what you want from your space. Is it for solo meditation, or will family join you? Is it for quiet reflection? Will you be reading or daydreaming? Make it personal. Unless you are sharing this space (and I suggest you have at least one place just for you), choose what works for you. How should it smell?

What about sound? What colors speak to you? Do you prefer being out of doors, or retreat to a cozy nook inside? If your rooms are mostly open, a screen or drapery can do wonders in creating a cozy space that is relaxing and private. Choose objects that will help you get energy around your spiritual practice.

Here are some ideas of what items you may want to use to create your own sanctuary: • a stack of colorful cushions either on the floor or on a sofa • a chaise to lounge on, or an easy chair with an ottoman • a beautiful throw • photographs of loved ones • mementos from a walk on the beach, a hike, any personal objects that have meaning to you like stones, shells, feathers.

• statuary as symbols of divine and protective energies • candles, incense and essential oils • plants and flowers • sounds - a fountain, calming music, and musical instruments such as Tibetan bowls • angel or tarot cards • a tray to enjoy a cup of tea.

Go thru your home with fresh eyes. Whether you are in a large home, loft or apartment, it is possible for you to find a space that is meant just for you. It might be just off the kitchen, in a corner of your bedroom or a beautiful spot in your garden. Use your intuition to get started. Sometimes just moving a few pieces of furniture can create energy that is different and might open your mind to creating your sanctuary.
