Despite being a mother of three, an employee, and an online seller, UAE-based Aicel Nava was able to finish two online courses offered by the Filipino Institute on its website. While playing a major role in the growth of her kids, Nava, took the Purchasing and Procurement Basics and Basic Business Management-Booth Camp for Business Owners courses.

She shared how she was able to finish two certification courses a few months back while she was browsing the internet for her husband’s plan to take a professional diploma program. “At that time. I searched for a reliable school and at the same time affordable–so I bumped into Filipino Institute. Upon checking their website, you’re not going to believe it because they have a lot of free online courses!” she said.

Nava explained that her ‘heart jumped’ when she saw it. A little anxious at first after seeing the quizzes, she still took the plunge and enrolled herself in the program.

“After first office shift, from feeding my kids to bathing, and then let them settle to sleep. I found myself almost done with the course in no time! It took me a week to finish it, only a week? Yes, although I only spent an hour a day to make sure my priorities are intact, kids, work, and my business,” she added.

After finishing the assessments last April 1, she said that she was not expecting anything since the passing rate is above 80 percent. “But God really guided me on this, he never fails me. I passed the two courses I took from the Filipino Institute and other that,” Nava added.

The OFW did not only acquire new knowledge about business, but she was also able to obtain a certificate certified by the Filipino Institute and can be further attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mofa) and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).

‘I also want to take this time to thank the Filipino Institute–from deans to admins–you’re all doing great! We are really blessed that you’re providing free opportunities for people who are really keen to learn. And for people asking how did I manage everything? Na-uh. Please remember nobody is too busy, it’s just a matter of priorities. A leader never stops learning!” she further added.
