Mark Kevin Geronimo Domingo, when asked to describe himself, said he is a jolly and lovable person who loves to motivate and spread positivity. He recalled arriving in the alien country in 2015. At that time, he was lucky to land an accountant general job for a multimedia agency.

Like many Filipinos abroad, he chose to work overseas to provide himself and his family members in the Philippines a comfortable life. For six years, Domingo, while finding his true purpose in life, worked for different companies until he found his true calling.

After working as a general accountant in 2015, he transferred to the National Bank of Abu Dhabi to work as a sales executive. After a year, he decided that he wanted to become a customer service representative in Etisalat. In the same company, he was given a chance to grow in the field he chose.

Shifting a career, Domingo then transferred to Ain Alkhaleej Hospital to work as a coordinator for about seven months, and soon after, decided to work as a private nurse for Almamoon Medical Centre.

Honed in various fields, he continued to explore job opportunities that the country offers. Domingo has decided to work in RAK Bank as a sales coordinator. He said that he enjoyed this profession ‘much’ as compared with his previous jobs as it helped him gain confidence to speak with various people.

Today, he works as an auditor and insurance coordinator in Marbella Speech Therapy & Rehabilitation Centre, a distinguished firm in treatment and rehabilitation based in Al Ain.

Domingo, a certified coding specialist, said that his current work provides him confidence and an opportunity to improve himself as a whole.

Initially, he had struggled to adjust to the working environment abroad--especially working with non-Filipinos ‘maybe because of their culture.’ “But if you try to understand them, you will find out that they are very understanding and more trustworthy,” he added.

Domingo, who is only 31 years old, added that he plans to excel more in this field.

“The word is like an apple full of struggles but we need to pass the test or overcome, if we cannot, then we will fail. Be positive and never give up. Do what you think is the best. Keep fighting!” he further added.
