Nestled within 400 acres of pristine, protected woodland just outside of Durham, North Carolina, Old Chatham Golf Club is a member retreat designed exclusively for those who cherish the game of golf in its purest form. Founded in 2001 by a distinguished group of local business leaders and golf enthusiasts including members of the North Carolina Golf Hall of Fame Old Chatham was envisioned as a haven where the traditions, etiquette, and spirit of the game would be preserved and celebrated.

Unlike many modern clubs that offer a wide array of recreational activities, Old Chatham is focused entirely on delivering a world-class golf experience for its members. the position

Old Chatham Golf Club is searching for a detail oriented, hands-on, and proactive culinary professional to provide exceptional experiences through Member dining. One that has the ability to innovate while understanding Members more traditional culinary desires.

The Executive Chef will coordinate and oversee all aspects of the culinary operation to ensure consistency in quality and speed of service delivered. He/She should have the ability to deliver high-end personalized service to the Old Chatham Members and their guests, interacting with them on a regular basis.

The Club serves Breakfast and Lunch 6 days a week with the occasional dinner prepared for 4-8 cottage guests The Club hosts approximately 10 events throughout the year, primarily centered around Member golf tournaments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef, offering a highly positive work-life balance in a prestigious and member-focused environment.

 Ability to cultivate a high-level of member satisfaction through consistency and speed in the dining experience.

 A strong understanding of top-notch food and beverage experiences for Club members and guests.

 Maintains a high level of safety and sanitation in food preparation among their department through education and follow through.

 Effective fiscal management through delivery of actual operational and capital results in alignment with approved budgets.

 The desire to maintain high level of visibility among members and staff as the face of the Club’s dining programs.

 An individual adept in problem solving and conflict management, resolving issues, complaints, and feedback in a timely manner.

qualifications

 A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership and management experience in a hospitality environment, private clubs preferred. Current Executive Sous Chefs at well-recognized organizations, with verifiable records of achievement will be highly considered.

 Food Safety Certification

 A degree from a post-secondary culinary arts program a plus.

 Certification from American Culinary Federation or other hospitality association a plus.
