SENIOR AMBASSADOR S ’ MESSAGE Hello, My name is Grace Millsap, and I am your 20192022 GNE Fair Ambassador. When I started this experience in September of 2019 whoever would’ve thought that that would be the last fair, we have had for two years and I would still be the Ambassador. Though this experience has been anything but normal my Junior Ambassador Larissa Walker and I have tried to make the most of it by attending and participating in as many events as we could. This past year Larissa and I attended the drive-through Chicken BBQ, the livestock showcase put on at the fairgrounds, and Santa Claus parades, it was nice to get back to some sort of normalcy with in-person events happening within the community. This upcoming summer I will represent the fair at the CNE in the Ambassador of
the Fairs competition, which is finally able to happen after also waiting three long years. I wish to extend a special thank you to Heather Walker, Karen VanStavern, Maureen McLeod, and Rylee Sampson for taking the time to chaperone Larissa and I these past 3 years! And a very special thank you to all of the generous sponsors of the Ambassador Competition who donate each year and help make the competitions possible. I have enjoyed my time as the Sr. Ambassador and am extremely grateful for all the opportunities that it has provided for me. I have met some amazing people and opened doors to so many new possibilities. To anyone looking for a new challenge and a learning/ growing opportunity - I encourage you to take part in the Ambassador program. It truly is a wonderful experience. As I embark on the new chapters in my life, over the last three years I have graduated grade 12 at Stayner Collegiate Institute and am now a graduating College Student. I can reflect on my time and experiences of representing the GNE as both the Jr. and Sr. Ambassador with amazing memories, new skills, and friendships that I’m sure will last a lifetime! Here’s to seeing you all at the 2022 GNE!
