Date: Saturday & Sunday of Fair weekend Sponsors: Collwest Grain Ltd, Tim Hortons, AV Custom Woodworking Chairperson: Cheryl Ferguson 705-446-2323 Committee: Sara Ferguson, Kendra Ferguson, Chelcy Ferguson, Alicia Ferguson, Ashton Grant, Rebecca Bishop, Jaimee McQueen, Patricia Green The Children’s Activity Tent is a rest space available for families that provides activities for the children at no cost including; • Farm Toy Implement Grain Tables • Hands on Activity Areas • Make and Take Craft Centres • Colouring Sheets Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children. Volunteers are present from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm and also offer a few hours of free face painting over the weekend (times will be posted in the tent on fair weekend).
CHILDREN’S PEDAL TRACTOR PULL
Date: Saturday of Fair weekend Time: 1:30 p.m. in front of Children’s Tent Registration: 12:30 p.m. Sponsor: K. Ferguson Enterprises Chairperson: Ashton Grant Committee: Kent Ferguson, Kyle Ferguson, Cheryl Ferguson, Matt Giradin PRIZE MONEY: 1st - $5.00; 2nd - $3.00; 3rd - $2.00 RULES AND REGULATIONS: 1. The contestant must be able to pedal the tractor without assistance. 2. Pedal tractors will be furnished for participants. 3. All contestants must wear shoes. 4. Contestants will be given three chances to get the sled moving from the starting line. 5. The tractor must stay between the lines of the pulling lane at all times. 6. If the tractor leaves the pulling lane the distance will be measured from the starting line to the point where the tractor crossed the boundary. 7. In case of a tie there will be a pull off to determine the winner. 8. There will be four sections: Section 1. - 30 to 45 pounds Section 2. - 46 to 60 pounds Section 3. - 61 to 75 pounds Section 4. - 76 to 90 pounds 9. Both boys and girls up to 12 years as of September 1, 2019 are eligible. 10. Judges decision will be final. 11. All contestants must be present by the time of pedal pull with a signed permission slip in hand. The required signature of a parent or guardian releases the Collingwood Agricultural Society from any responsibility due to an accident. 12. Registration in front of Children’s Tent one hour before pedal pull. 13. Only the first 25 children in each section will be qualified to participate. Child must be accompanied by an adult or guardian at the time of registration and during the event.
