verything [in the house] means something,” says homeowner, Gloria Dick, about her and her husband’s four-bedroom and fivebathroom home. When you’ve spent the years raising three daughters in a home, the memories are sure to be as abundant as the wall space and as priceless as the family heirlooms that sit inside. It is a space that has been filled with love, knee scrapes and the patience that comes with raising three daughters. The home itself is open. All of the large living areas throughout the home open up to the outside, creating a nice balance with nature. “It’s as open or private as you want it,” says Gloria. She goes on to describe the home as “purist.” There is natural wood and natural elements throughout the home, and the light that pours in is a rich addition to the warm feeling that has been organically created. Most of the rooms feature sofas or seats with hues of orange or brown leather. They are just as inviting as they are aesthetically pleasing in their spaces. The art that sits behind them are the specially gifted pieces from Africa given to Gloria from her in-laws. The home and the furnishings www.thecitymagazineelp.com
