Executive Director’s Report Welcome to the Awards of Distinction. We are thrilled to have you joining us this evening while we share with you some of the many success stories, we have here within our Chamber community. We are a strong and successful chamber with over 500 members, representing over 15,000 employees across the county. Together we can continue to foster change, growth, and prosperity in Manitowoc County. I would like to thank you for your investment and participation in the Chamber programs and services. The closing of 2021 marked the end of Chad Zeller’s second term as a Board Member for the Chamber. During Chad’s 6 year run he spent the last two years of his tenure as Board Chair. This position is a big job and includes actively participating in multiple committees and participation in both educational and networking events. Chad did an excellent job of leading our outstanding Board of Karen Nichols Directors while we navigated through all the changes that came with the onset of Executive Director Covid. Thank you Chad, and thank you to all of the 2021 Chamber Board of Directors, committee members and volunteers. The Chamber will continue to adapt and change with the ever shifting business climate. We will remain true to our mission in providing resources and services to help your business to promote a healthy and prosperous business environment. Thank you for the continued support of the Chamber of Manitowoc County as we work for “The Greater Good” of our community.

Warm regards, Karen Nichols

The Chamber Staff

Chamber Board Chairperson’s Report As I reflect on 2021, I am once again reminded by the strong sense of community in Manitowoc County. With so many people eager to move on from pandemic life, there was a tremendous amount of energy and excitement directed towards resuming activities that celebrates all that is good living along the lakeshore. And front and center through it all, our business community led the charge to help where help is needed. We are truly blessed to have an active and thriving business community. Thank you so much for what you do!

Chad Zeller Chair

I also want to recognize the efforts of Karen Nichols and the Chamber staff, the Chamber Board of Directors, various Chamber committees, and countless numbers of volunteers who have given of their time, talent, and treasure to the Chamber of Manitowoc County. Make no mistake about it, we have a very special organization with very special people. Thank you so much for what you do!

With the close of 2021, my term as Board Chair and Director came to an end as well. I appreciate the opportunity I had and the experiences I gained over these past six years. It was a fun and interesting ride to say the least. I now pass the baton to Scott McMeans of the Doneff Companies. Scott is a remarkable individual with a diverse background. He will undoubtedly be an excellent leader and continue to keep the Chamber mission at the forefront of all decisions. Best of luck in 2022. Looking forward to seeing you again real soon. Chad Zeller

Chamber Treasurer’s Report The Chamber Staff and Board of Directors are proud to report that your Chamber of Manitowoc County had a very strong 2021 despite the effects of the pandemic. The support of you, our loyal members, was integral to our collective success – thank you!

Mark Maurer Treasurer

Our cash position is strong and growing. We maintained cash reserves in excess of the 6 months of operating expenses required by our bylaws and continue to operate free of bank debt.

Operationally we had a very strong year. Total Income exceeded budget by 10% with Membership, Chamber Bucks and our annual golf outing leading these strong results.

Expenses were closely monitored again this year coming within 1% of budget. This judicious expense control, coupled with the strong operations, resulted in Net Income far exceeding budget.

Thank you again for your continued support! Mark Maurer
