APPY NEW YEAR! 2015! Wow! Remember Y2K? That was 15 years ago! Remember? Think about it! We were all 15 years younger! Where did the time go? Jimmy Buffett sang, “I took off for a weekend last month, Just to try and recall the whole year, All of the faces and all of the places, Wonderin’ where they all disappeared.” You know the tune. I bet you sang it as you read it. Well, that’s exactly where I’m at. So many things happened in 2014. We lost some dear friends. We celebrated family holidays and birthdays. We were blessed with good health and a new grandbaby. Most of our “challenges” were reasonably minor compared to what some others experienced. So, while I normally note my intentions to ride more, relax more, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera, I am not going to be so specific this year. Recently, as we always do during the holidays, Molly and I watched “It’s a Wonderful Life (1946) starring a very young Jimmy Stewart. His character, George Bailey, starts to realize how many lives he has changed and impacted, and how they would be different if he was never there. It made me think about a lot of things in my past and decisions that I had made. Some were good and some not so good. This came to me in an e-mail from a friend and I concur. You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your life, so, live for today and say all the things that you want your loved ones to remember, and hope that they appreciate and love you for all the things that you have done for them in all the years past! “Life” is a gift to you. The way you live your life is your gift to those who come after. Make it a fantastic one. Live it well! Enjoy today! Do something fun! Be happy! Have a great day. Remember, It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver. Live happy in 2015! Carpe Diem, and may God bless you.

OUTER BANKS ® HARLEY-DAVIDSON

The Outer Banks BEST Kept Bikers’ Secret

The cool ocean breezes, breath-taking scenic riding along over 100 miles of barrier islands and fantastic watering holes make Outer Banks Harley-Davidson® a rider’s destination, and home to one of the best spring rallies on the East Coast, Outer Banks Bike Week™. Outer Banks Harley-Davidson®, is located in Harbinger just two miles north of the Wright Brothers Memorial Bridge, the gateway to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Outer Banks Harley-Davidson® is a full service dealership including Authorized Harley-Davidson® Rentals. As the host dealership for Outer Banks Bike Week™, Outer Banks H-D® serves as the hub for rally activities. Several guided tours are provided by the Outer Banks H.O.G. Chapter on a daily basis, to include the “Run 4 The Ferry” ride. This 80 mile southern beaches excursion takes riders to places that pirates traveled 300 years ago such as the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse (the tallest light house in the U.S.), and then for those who are interested, onto the HatterasOcracoke Ferry to Ocracoke Island. Many describe the 30-40 minute ferry ride as just plain relaxing while they check out the endangered brown pelicans skydiving into the sea for food, or just letting the gentle NC ocean breeze take all their worries out

to sea. Other activities during Bike Week include the traditional activities such as bike shows, poker runs, vendors on-site as well as 9 other locations, live bands, Miss Bike Week bikini contests, tattoo contests, evening party spots, and yes, even cole-slaw wrestling. There is a little something for everyone. In town for the event every year is the H-D® Demo Fleet, where you can test ride a current model year Harley-Davidson® motorcycle. There are hundreds of miles of beachfront riding, or if you prefer, explore the marshlands south of Manteo. One of the other area attractions is the Corolla Wild Horses. Until recent years, the Outer Banks of North Carolina were considered some of the most isolated and under-developed areas in the country. The Corolla Wild Horses are believed to have roamed over the past four centuries on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. There are also five historical lighthouses stretching along the 100 miles of coastline of the Outer Banks from the Currituck Lighthouse all the way down to Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. Don’t forget, the Outer Banks are also home of the Wright Brothers and their historical first flight, and Jockey’s Ridge, the largest natural sand dune on the east coast.

The 17th Annual Brenner Children’s Hospital Toy Run By: WildThing Mark Wheelihan, owner of Greensboro Harley-Davidson, major sponsor, and one of the earliest proponents of the Brenner Children’s Hospital Toy Run, told the crowd of bikers that were gathered in the foyer of the hospital, that the run had taken on a life of its’ own and that it belonged to the riders. That is true in the sense that without all the individual contributions there just wouldn’t be enough. However, every endeavor of this sort needs to have a willing leader, so I also commend Mark and his entire staff at the dealership for their yearly effort to pull off this toy run. This year the weather was perfect, sunny and dry, which also contributed to the large number of bikes that turned out: 350+. Upon arriving at Greensboro Harley-Davidson, the riders had to pick their way past the dealership, ride almost all the way down Farragut St to find a spot to park, then walk up to register, turn it their toys, and get this year’s edition of Toy Run t-shirt and partake of the refreshments that I heard were there. I just didn’t have time to check them out. Bob and Ginger Karney and their new law associate, Sean, were on hand passing out their 2015 Karney Law Firm calendars. Ginger was happily autographing them. You have to pay attention and when you see the escort officers scurrying to their motorcycles, you best be suiting up. Mark and I were really impressed with the job they all did on the ride from Greensboro to Brenner’s in Winston-Salem. No joke now, these officers shut down I-40. I don’t mean just escorted, they shut it down so the motorcycles could ride without being fretful of harried Christmas shoppers rushing to the shopping malls. They held traffic at all the on ramps and we saw no other traffic in adjacent lanes. In Mark Wheelihan’s words we felt like we were the president of the United States! Super job: Guilford County Sheriff’s Department, High Point Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, and Winston-Salem Police Department. Thanks a lot! We were rolling down I-40 adjacent to Farragut Street and some of the tail end bikes were not moving yet. That’s a lot of bikes for the officers to watch out for! We arrived at the Brenner Children’s Hospital, and most everyone headed for the hot chocolate and cookies. Mark gathered us all around and read the list of this year’s sponsors and contributors and presented the envelope of checks to Beth Smith, of the Child Life Department. He mentioned that somehow the Jarrett family always managed to get word to Santa so he could ride in the Toy Run with his Elf companion in the sidecar. Main sponsors on board this

year and most were on the t-shirt are: Advanced Technology Incorporated, Freedom Biker Church, The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine, Triad H.O.G. Club, Triad Bad Lasses, Jarrett Sheet Metal, The Painted Plate, Guilford County, Kohl’s on Battleground (who gave great discounts to toy shoppers Triad H.O.G. and Triad Bad Lasses), Chase Logeman, Signature Property, D Brand Designs, Greensboro Printing, Chunk’s Hawg Haven, Schiffman’s, Bob Karney, Collins Chevrolet Subaru, and the Buffalo Soldiers. On the day of the Toy Run, Mike Lewis with GBF made a large toy donation, and large amount checks were contributed by: Piedmont Tower Inc., 109 U-Pull It Auto Parts, Ole Watering Hole, Triad Property Services, Oak Forest Rehab, D. McGill, K. Carlise, and AMVETS Post No. 777. The total of the checks to Brenner Children’s Hospital this year was $14,500. Beth thanked everyone profusely, explaining that every child that was a patient would receive a gift on Christmas morning, along with siblings that may be visiting that day. Then the toys and funds are used throughout the year to stock the playrooms and brighten little patient’s day especially if they are in the hospital on their birthday. Then everyone trooped outside to assist in unloading the toys from the trailer to waiting carts and when they were full, grabbed bags and hand carried them off to the storeroom where hospital workers would sort and prepare them to give away. Well, another Brenner Run was in the books and several of us rode on back to Chunk’s Hawg Haven to talk about the day’s happenings and share future holiday plans. It was kinda quiet inside, which was a surprise to me. I don’t’ know where the other 300 bikes were at on such a beautiful, sunny December day, but those of us there sure did enjoy cold beverages and the Pizza Hut pizzas. Sorry you missed out, guys, but we sure had fun!

Friday Night At Uptown Charlie’s

By: Rick Gammons I’ve been promising Abby, the GM at Uptown Charlie’s in north Greensboro, that I would drop by on night and check them out. Last Friday, I went. The parking lot wasn’t full, but when Peggy and I walked in, BAM! This place was busting at the seams. It’s not an “in town” establishment, so how does a place located in a small community strip center do so well? After seeing the crowd, I figured I would soon find out. They took our name for the wait list of about 10 minutes. We proceeded to the bar area to wait. Slightly above the rest of the area, it affords an excellent overview of the entire place. Peggy and I lucked out as a table became available as we entered the bar area. Let’s do an overview of Uptgown Charlie’s. First, there are TVs that encircle the entire place, with a super size screen on the opposite wall from the bar. There are tables in the center with booths around the edge. Fairly typical. They had a small area for the band next to the big screen. The bar is immaculate, with fine wood, mirrors, and signs. This is where we hung out. Seated next to us was an older local couple. They come here often for good food and a very large time. These folks were friendly and they gave us an inside scoop on how Uptown Charlie’s moves. The “band” started around eight. We don’t hang out as late as we used to, so their timing was pretty good. Actually, there were only two musicians in the band called “Will Jones” and

they were a good pick for the evening. They put their own spin on songs from Tom Petty, Eric Clapton, George Strait, and others, keeping us trying to figure who the original artists were. We left around 9:45 and they were still jamming. Guess maybe they played until closing. Saturday night is karaoke night. The couple next to us said we need to come see it one night. They quipped that it was a performance to behold! I look forward to the night Peggy and I can go for this event. You know, we had a fine evening there. Good crowd, great food and a relaxed atmosphere that will make you feel welcome. Don’t miss an opportunity to experience Uptown Charlie’s at 5828 N. Church Street in Greensboro, NC. ‘Wheels’ Looking Forward to Record Breaking 2015 Wheels Through Time would like to send out a big “Thank You” to all of our visitors, friends, and family for helping make 2014 our best year yet! Last year, we had the pleasure of hosting over 120,000 visitors through our doors — the action was nonstop, and each and every person that made us a destination lent a hand in our success. While it might seem impossible to top such a great 2014 season, Wheels Through Time has already been working hard to bring its success in 2015 to a whole new level! “What’s In The Barn?” is back for a 3rd season on Velocity TV, chasing Dale and Matt across the country in search of rare and historic machines for display inside the museum. This season, Dale heads south to Texas for one of the World’s biggest swapmeets then to Michigan for a high-class automotive show that brings him back to the previous home of one of the world’s rarest motorcycles. They chase down uncertain lead in North Georgia to a “Bike House”, and are blown away at what they find! Eight more episodes begin airing in late spring. A new “What’s in the Barn?” Exhibit will also be opening in May of 2015, showcasing many of the finds from season 3. OPEN DAILY @ 12pm The museum is always thinking of new ways to continue making experiences of our visitors better each year. In 2015, we’ll be bringing involvement of our patrons to a whole new level. This coming year, visitors will have 336-992-3033 a the opportunity to lend a hand in the rebuild and restoration a very special machine — the 2016 WTT Raffle Bike, to be raffled of in November 2016. Construction has already begun, Check Out Our FB Page and we’ll be rely-

ing on you to get this one ready for the road. WTT is also planning a gala fundraiser for The Home Depot Foundation, whose mission is to improve the homes and lives of our US military veterans and their families. The museum has long been a supporter of all of our veterans, and looks to expand that support in 2015. All proceeds from the event will benefit the foundation, which spends millions annually for veterans in our communities. Perhaps the biggest news for 2015 is the Wheels Through Time MEGA RAFFLE! Wheels Through Time and the Amelia Island Charities will be offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own one of the rarest and most significant motorcycles in the world — the 1936 Crocker Hemi Twin. This machine, the 8th Crocker of less than 70 produced, remains the earliest running production Crocker in existance, has been heralded by experts as one of the world’s most significant motorcycles. A full feature story and details of the raffle are coming soon. This is one drawing you don’t want to miss! Wheels Through Time will be opening for the 2015 season on April 2nd. Please stay tuned for a full list of events on the museum’s website coming soon. In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled and ears open for historic machines in your neighborhood! Dale and crew are on the hunt for history in unusual places, and are always looking for the next rusty relic for “What’s In The Barn?” For more information about the 2015 season, “What’s In the Barn?”, WTT’s Home Depot Foundation Gala, or the WTT Crocker MEGA RAFFLE, visit www.WheelsThroughTime. com or contact us at 828 734-3941.

By: Smiley I cannot lie, this year’s event started off very emotionally for me and many more. However, we had a mission to accomplish for Barry aka Old Dog and boy did we make him proud! Yes, we are the Marines and rain did not stop 56 bikes from riding for the Toys For Tots cause. Thank you to the Marine Riders and everyone that helped us finish pulling it off. Big thanks to Royal Limousine for donating a party bus who carried those who came in cages. We received great support and welcoming arms from Chunk’s Hawg Haven, TJ’s Bar & Billiards and After Hours Tavern. Then back to JR’s for Crazy Dave’s delicious chicken and the fixings. After filling our bellies we had raffles and auctions. We have filled 4 box trucks full of toys to date and the toys are still coming. There will be so many happy children this year and we helped make it happen. We also donated $2,100 to the Toys For Tots program! I do want to give a shout out to our Marine, SSgt Paul Rimington, who not only stood by us through it all, he rode beside us, too! I will end the last “Barry Toy Run” with his famous words at every ride: “If you can read, thank a teacher. If you can read in English, thank a soldier”.

Toys Run The Streets Of The Strand By: Everette “EZ” Short While most of the country was already bound up in ice, snow, and freezing rain, Saturday, December 6th found us shoveling sunshine and breathing warm winds for the 5th Annual Myrtle Beach Harley-Davidson Toy Run sponsored by Steel Horse Law. By the time kickstands went up at noon, there were over 300 participants signed up and more than 200 bikes rolling down Kings Highway with dolls, balls, and all kinds of toys loaded onto brightly colored steel horse sleighs. In the front of the parade was Santa Clause on a Harley, come to deliver Christmas presents to the kids on our lists. The line of bikes and the smiles on the riders’ faces stretched out for miles, with at least 100 costumed characters riding their steel reindeer through the South Strand area to arrive at Longbeards Bar ‘n Grill.

There was a 42” flat screen TV, free hotel stays, restaurant gift cards, jewelry, golf packages, attraction tickets, and much more given away on a raffle, but most of the schwag was given back to send to the kids by the big burly bikers with one great love for bikes and children. The very next weekend, on Saturday, December 13th we all got together again at the Murrells Inlet Mall to do it one more time, with a toy run and bike show that ended at Myrtle Beach Harley-Davidson. This time it was sponsored by Under The Wings Of An Angel, SBB, and Tom McGrath’s Motorcycle Law Group. Under The Wings Of An Angel is a great group of people that do a lot of charity work in this area for children and homeless teenagers. The ride was packed with even more bikes and participants than the week before, but I still don’t have any numbers as to the

attendance. By the time the crowd arrived at MBH-D, all the parking lots were full, with the surrounding businesses soaking up the excess numbers of steel reindeers. There was a bike show, food, fun, prizes, and reindeer games until everyone began moving South for the after party at Suck Bang Blow at the end of the day, where the band Megadrive played with wild abandon. I don’t remember any caroling or eggnog, but let’s say that it was festive and pretty Christmassy for a romp at SBB. Most people don’t realize how much some of these kids really depend on the MCs and local riders to provide a Christmas for kids who otherwise wouldn’t get much under the tree, but you can count on Santa and his leather clad elves to bring home the bags of toys and goodies for all the less fortunate boys and girls. To those who attended, your kindness is legendary and your goodness has been noted by Santa. Hey, isn’t that what Christmas is all about? Making a kid smile, even if that kid is over 6 foot tall, with a two foot beard, a bag full of toys, and a twinkle in his eye for all those goodies in his bag? If I don’t get a chance to tell each of you how great this year has been, well, consider yourself told that YOU are the reason for the season and have a wonderful, safe, and warm Christmas with an even more amazing New Year waiting for us all. I will see you on the road and be sure to check out more of your pictures on-line at www.FullThrottleMagazine.com

12th Annual Arzie Rogers Memorial Toy Run By: Rose and Lloyd Sunday, November 23rd was a terrible cold and rainy day, but it did not stop Speedway Harley-Davidson and The Speedway H.O.G. Chapter from getting the much-needed toys for the YMCA Cooperative Christian Ministries. The ride was rained out, so all festivities were held at Speedway Harley-Davidson. The show must go on! The Ladies of H.O.G. Chapter were right inside the door, giving out tickets for door prizes, and 2014 Speedway pins. There were lots of door prizes, and a 50/50. Most importantly, the weather did not put a damper on the hearts of so many bikers to provide Christmas gifts for these kids. The food as always was excellent and provided by Jim ‘n Nick’s BBQ. DJ Todd provided music and entertainment. There were over 200 toys, large and small, many gift cards, and lots of boxes of games. They filled over 20 huge leaf bags. Another year the bikers came out and showed with their hearts the true meaning of Christmas. Many thanks to all that participated and made The 12th Annual Arzie Rogers Memorial Toy Run a huge success. We will see you all next year.

Noah and Toby from Claremont chat with Santa Story and photo by Alan Dockery Santa Claus took a break to come ride the North Carolina mountains one more time this year and stopped at Tilley Harley-Davidson in Statesville, NC, to pick up some presents for good bikers. While he was there, Santa took a few hours to talk with local children about what they want for Christmas. Elf Brittany and Elf Chandler came with Santa to help. Most of the kids were thrilled to see Santa, and then walk around the dealership shopping with their parents. Some of the kids showed me their favorites of the motorcycles for sale that day and took a turn on the electric Rockin’ Harley. The holidays may be over, but Tilley H-D is a great place to shop for yourself or gifts any time of the year.

16th Annual Burlington H.O.G. Toy Run By Scott Wicker Cooler temperatures and early morning rain didn’t stop having a great turn out as Down Home Harley-Davidson and the Burlington H.O.G. Chapter hosted its 16th Annual Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots Toy Run on Sunday, November, 23rd. Due to the rain and leaves on the road, the ride part of the toy run was cancelled, but over 100 people filled Down Home Harley-Davidson’s beautiful facility for the fun and fellowship. Everyone was asked to bring an unwrapped toy or make a $10.00 donation. Over $550.00 and 8 large boxes of toys were collected. Everyone at Down Home HarleyDavidson was served Brunswick Stew, provided to us by Tickle My Ribs of Burlington, that really hit the spot making this a very enjoyable day and a good time spent with good friends and fellow riders. A lot of great door prizes were given away as well. Also, there was time for the kids and grown ups to meet with Santa Claus and get their pictures taken with him. A lot of the toys that were given were placed under Down Home’s beautifully decorated Christmas tree. The tree was placed right at the front door of the dealership and really gave a lot of the people

that turned out a truly Down Home Christmas feeling. We can never thank the members of the Burlington H.O.G. Chapter and the fine folks at Down Home Harley-Davidson enough for their hospitality and hosting such a great event. And as always, thanks to everyone who participated and supported Toys for Tots. We can’t thank you enough! Ride Safe in 2015!

19th Annual Ina Fitts Memorial Toy Run By: Richard Streib Saturday, November 15, 2014 dawned cold with predicted highs in the 40’s. Temps hardly conducive to a bike ride and certainly producing some angst in those who had counted on a good turnout for the 19th Annual Ina Fitts Memorial Toy Run. Despite the low temperatures, a total of about 40 bikers braved the chill to participate. The Salvation Army of Johnston County sponsors this toy run with supportive assistance from the Triangle Travelers for Jesus, the Triangle Area Chapter of the Christian Motorcyclists Association. It benefits the Salvation Army of Johnston County. This year Capital PowerSports (Wake Forest), Garcia Moto (Raleigh) and Team PowerSports (Garner) served as participating partners. In mid-October, a large toy collection box was placed in the showroom at each dealership. The dealerships promoted the toy run and invited their customers to donate a new toy to be given to the Salvation Army of Johnston County. Each dealership filled their box and then some. All bikers brought a toy as well. Many brought multiple toys to donate. The ride that cold November Saturday began in Wake Forest at Capital PowerSports with Santa leading the way on his motorcycle. Reports came in of many not-so-young children in downtown Raleigh scrambling to get their cameras to take Santa’s picture on the motorcycle as he made his way through the city on his way to the toy run. After picking up the toys at Capital PowerSports, Santa led the ride to Garcia Moto to pick up their toys, and then on to Team PowerSports. Additional bikers joined the ride at each stop. Many thanks to the deputies of the Wake and the Johnston County Sheriff’s Departments who led the ride from Team PowerSports to the WalMart in Smithfield pushing Santa to the number 2 spot in line. More riders joined at Wal-Mart, including some from Greenville. Time was provided for bikers to shop for toys if they had not already done so. Many bikers shopped, buying multiple additional toys to be donated. Santa posed for many families who made pictures of their children with Santa and his motorcycle. Upon leaving Wal-Mart, officers of the Smithfield Police Department escorted the ride. Bikers took a detour passing through the parking lot of the Outlet Center where shoppers of all ages waved at Santa on his motorcycle. Upon exiting the shopping Center the police continued their escort on to the Salvation Army in Smithfield. After arriving at the Salvation Army, bikers brought in their

toys and then helped to unload 2 SUVs and the trunk of a large sedan all full of toys. They placed the gifts beneath the Christmas tree. The formerly empty tree looked much better with all those hundreds of toys beneath it. Some children, including one who has been there now for 8 years, presented a Christmas skit and led in the singing of some carols. John Fitts the widow of Ina Fitts, spoke, thanking all the bikers for their giving spirit and their participation on such a cold day. A lunch was provided for the bikers. Major Becky Gagne of the Salvation Army thanked the bikers for their participation and the bountiful gift of much needed toys. She explained that the toys would supplement the gifts people had gotten for the children on the angel trees placed in the community and some for names which had not been taken from the trees. Many thanks to Capital PowerSports, Garcia Moto, and Team PowerSports for their support and participation. A picture collage of photos of the Toy Run has been presented to each dealership in appreciation for them to hang in their showrooms. Plans are underway for the 20th Annual Ina Fitts Toy Run 2015. Perhaps additional dealerships will be included in 2015.

Steele Angels 11th Annual Toy Run By: Wendy Rogers What a wonderful day it turned out for the Steele Angels 11th Annual Toy Run! The weather was a biker’s dream and the turnout was absolutely beautiful! There were many bikes and people that came together for this awesome event. They started out at Legend’s Pub on Bragg Boulevard and were escorted to the Dog House on Owen Drive both of Fayetteville, NC. Santa led the way, as usual, with close to 200 bikes following behind him. The food was Italian style and was quite delicious. They gave out many door prizes. It was never ending hoping that everyone would get a chance to win something. The 50/50 was $400 which “Kent” won it and donated it all back to the club. Thank you, Kent. They had an auction this year. They auctioned off 8 incredible items. The auctioneer rookie guy, “Jimmy”, brought it home when he performed a success of an auction. It was amazing to see how everybody interacted and looked so involved and watched this auction. It was for sure a hit. Lots of toys were gathered and money donations which will aid in providing and be fulfilling for the underprivileged children and families in crisis. The Steele Angels organization provides monetary and physical support to several local non4624 Bragg Blvd. Fayetteville, NC profit charities and organizations. This organization also provides relief to local Home Of The Gypsy Women families in “adopt a family” program, Victory Junction Gang Camp, Partnership for Children, and Social Services of Cumberland County. The Steele Angels have been together for over 10 years. They have as few as 24 members and aren’t too fond of being real big, “We believe in quality over quantity”. They are not a chapter and they are not a “motorcycle club” and do not wish to be. They are a Non-Profit 501(c)3 organization. They love to ride and thought it would be great to turn their hobby into something that could For More Info Contact Legends Pub benefit somebody in need. Today there are so many homeless and Legends Is A Next Door To helpless children right here under our Private Club Hot Hog Leather own noses. The Steele Angels wish they

could always do more and support more, but feel if many organizations can do a little, then maybe a majority of the most needy children will be helped in some way or another. With such a great turnout this year, lots of needy children will be helped and have a smile on their faces on Christmas morning. The Steel Angels would like to thank all of their sponsors and all of their participants. It is so wonderful to see how so many people can come together and really support groups such as this and make things happen. It is so important that people are not just coming on a ride. They are helping, really making a difference for some child out there and making them happy on Christmas day. Thank you so much. Watch The Carolina’s Full Throttle Magazine for future events.

By: SugarFoot It is that time of year again, “To See The Smile On A Kid’s Face” and we are celebrating the 19th anniversary of this great event. The Gaston County Annual Toy Run For Kids was Saturday, December 6, 2014. Despite the liquid sunshine, we had 300 bikes with Mr. and Mrs. Claus bringing up the rear just like any great motorcade parade. The run was established to provide needy children within our county toys, coats, boots, and treat bags. The run is solely funded through donations and tee-shirt sponsorships. 100% of the money raised goes directly to the children in our communities. The ride is a parade route with police escort beginning in Ranlo and from there proceeding to Dallas, Bessemer City, Gastonia, Cramerton, and ending in Belmont with a BBQ dinner. The Gaston County Toy Run Organizers and bikers from multiple entities were able to personally greet and provide 1,207 children with over 3,921 toys, new boots, and coats! The run was dedicated to Buddy Sexton because it was his vision “To See The Smile On A Kid’s Face.” Thank you to the biker community for caring about these kids in our community! As we look forward to the 20th Annual Toy Run, we invite you to join us on December 5, 2015.

Sheriff Susan’s Toy Run

April 18-26, 2015

REVISED DATE September 16-20, 2015

By: Crystal Turner I would have rode, but my bike was laid up getting fixed. So I jumped in the car and rode up to the Currituck Visitor Center at the NC/VA border where the run was to begin. The entry fee was a new unwrapped toy and $10 per person. It was an escorted ride to the Outer Banks Harley-Davidson shop in Currituck. There were about 80 bikes & about 100 folks there when I arrived, and at that time that was very good since it was a pretty cold day, but with the right gear anything is possible. I paid my $10 and dropped a toy and took a few pictures and left so I could get some of them arriving at the Outer Banks Harley-Davidson shop. I got to the Harley shop and got a lot of pictures. They had a 50/50, hot dogs,

drinks, and gave away a lot of gift bags. They raised close to $1,500 and a trailer full of toys for the children of Currituck County. So Currituck County is doing well. Thanks so much and Have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New year.

24th Annual Toy Run For Conover School Story and Photo by Alan Dockery Damp and chilly ain’t great motorcycling weather, but it couldn’t keep folks from supporting the 24th Annual Toy Run to benefit the Conover School on December 6th. This year, about 100 motorcycles (and several cars) rolled out of the parking lot at the Wizard Saloon in Hickory, NC, for the ride. Normally, the toy run draws several hundred bikers. I reckon we saw who the hardcore riders and strong supporters are that day. This toy run supports the Conover School, one of the state’s premier special education schools. Instead of bringing toys to a central collection point, teachers select specific toys based on each child’s wants, needs and abilities. Bikers pay the tab through a charity managed by ride organizer, Mike Dyson. I’ve been on many toy runs in my many years riding, but this one is unique and the coolest by far. What makes it so special for the kids, their families, and the bikers is what the kids give back to us, a heart-warming Christmas show. With Arnold Kerley on his beautiful custom trike towing Santa (Wesley Moore) in a sleigh, the bikers pulled up to Newton-Conver High School as the kids cheered. We all gathered in the gym to see the coolest part of this toy run. Each year the children of the Conover School show their appreciation by putting on a Christmas pageant, singing and acting out songs of the season. This is such a touching show that even the most macho bikers could be seen wiping an occasional tear. After the singing, Santa hands out presents to the kids.

SELECT CYCLE

Most of the riders returned to the Wizard Saloon for some great, hot potato soup and sandwiches. Then Mike and his staff gave away a bunch of cool door prizes. There were at least 100 door prize bags and buckets that day, plus lots of nice auction items. We ended the day with fun contests for some of the nicer prizes. “I’m so proud of the people who came on the Conover School Toy Run this year, despite the weather,” Mike said. “Hats off to the hardcore riders who braved the wet and cold for these wonderful kids. Thanks to all the people who gave us door prizes and donations.” Next year is the 25th Anniversary and we are looking forward to the biggest and best Conover School Toy Run yet. To check out more of this year’s photos and comments or find out how you and your company can donate and help go to www.facebook.com/ConoverSchoolToyRun.

Santa At Rommel H-D

By: Kathy Johnson Many of us have our photos from when we were little dressed in our best and sitting with Santa. Now, it is just as enjoyable seeing a child so happy and dressed in their holiday best to see Santa. No matter how young a child is they sure seem to be in the know about who he is. The expressions on their faces are priceless! Wish lists range from small to over the top. It was nice to walk into Rommel H.D in Durham and see 11-month-old Little Ayda Hamrick’s visit with Santa. She was definitely on the nice list, as she wanted to give me her candy cane or share it with me. Nikki Hamrick & Uriah Metcalf let me know she was absolutely on the nice list and Santa had it easy. As for Ayda, she just can spend hours playing with a ball and that is what makes her happy. It was nice for parents to be able to shop for their own new sleds while their children were treated to Saint Nick! Rottweiler rescue was there making sure holidays were good for some special dogs. The sales team at Rommel was on hand to make sure you had help with what ever was on your list for that special someone. Now that being said some of you might have been on the naughty list, so it’s not to late if you didn’t get that bike you wanted for

WINTER SPECIALS

By: Gary Aiken All across North Carolina motorcycle riders have been making a commitment to help those in need this Christmas season. Here, in our small community, we are proud of having one of the oldest toy runs around. Thirty-four years and still going strong, the Smoky Mountain Toy Run is the Granddaddy of North Carolina Toy Runs. It’s always a guess as to what the weather will allow but we all know that the need for help continues regardless of what Mother Nature brings. Our first toy run saw temps in the 20’s and still this small band of pioneers managed to start an enduring event that helped to provide a few hundred toys the first year and now counts toys donated in the thousands every year. Part of what prompted our first toy run was the negative image motorcyclists where held in at the time. Their goal was to present a truer image of who we are and what we represent. Their collective quest was not for individual or group accolades, but to show that together, those of us who ride motorcycles, bikers if you will, have a heart for helping those in need and that we can reach beyond just being one individual or one group and work together to make a difference. Under the threat of rain, close to 600 motorcyclists and friends stepped up, rode their motorcycles and made sure there will be toys under many trees this Christmas. Those who couldn’t ride also stood tall and made sure their contribution was delivered in time to be added to the Toy Run total. Children and staff in our Buncombe County Schools added more than 1,000 toys. As I stood filming the procession of bikers riding through Beaucatcher Tunnel, I couldn’t help but notice the smiling faces of the riders as they passed, having fun, doing what they love and spreading Christmas joy. Rain, what rain? This is about more than one individual group. It isn’t about what you are riding, whether a Harley, Honda, Yamaha, BMW, Indian, Suzuki, Buell, BSA, Triumph, Victory, or Kawasaki. It is about coming together as one to create and implement an event that will end up helping thousands of children. In the end, those of us who help organize and conduct this event are just the vehicle that helps to make it happen. It is you, the rider, the contributor of toys and money that represents the real vision of what the Smoky Mountain Toy Run is meant to be; one group, riding any brand of motorcycle, coming together in love and caring to help those less fortunate. Thank you to our sponsors, our volunteers, and to all who

Queen Of The Daredevils By: WildThing It’s 1946 and 15-year old Margery Coffman had already decided that an office job was not for her. She was supposed to be learning shorthand, but was instead watching every motorcycle that passed by the window at Sarasota High School in Sarasota, Florida. Behind her parents’ back, a friend had taught Margery to ride on his 1937 HarleyDavidson ’74. Back in those days, Sarasota Florida was the winter home for the Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus. The circus performers had homes there and during the winter were busy perfecting their acts for the new season. There was also a variety of smaller traveling shows in the area taking advantage of the gentle winter climate in Florida. In 1949, Margery spotted an ad in the Sarasota Tribune for just such a show: The World of Mirth Show”. They were offering “travel and adventure” and would “teach a personable girl with nerve and courage to become a motorcycle exhibition rider in a Motor Drome”. Margery had already seen a motor drome wall of death on a family trip to Chicago and was hooked on the daring and skill of the riders. She applied for the job and was accepted and was billed as

‘Cookie Ayers, Queen Of The Daredevils’. She had to learn to ride the 1929 Indian Scout on the wall, but it only took her about a month to master it. During the forties and fifties hundreds of dromes traveled the country, but a female rider such as Cookie was a rarity. Cookie spent eight years traveling with the show, summers up north and winters in Florida. She married and had a daughter, Michele, and then divorced. Cookie and Michele traveled together, living in the back of the semi-trailer that hauled the drome. She raised Michele by herself with a little help from her fellow ‘carnies’ that traveled with the show. Michele grew up watching her mom thrill the crowds “like a ballerina on a motorcycle.” Cookie was also aware of the stereotypes about bikers and never wore traditional ‘biker clothes’ like black leather jackets and pants because that would show her to be one of the ‘bad guys’. And She wanted everyone to know that there were nice people that rode motorcycles. Instead she wore almost exclusively white, using white scarves to pull back her long blonde hair. Motorcycles remained a constant in her life, as she was a Motor Maid and also had a Harley-Davidson dealership. Her third husband died in a motorcycle crash and she married a fourth time in 1985 to Bob Crum, and became Cookie Crum! Together they founded a motorcycle magazine and rode GoldWings all over the country: she in her white boots and jacket, surprising the truckers on the highway. In 2007, Cookie did something even harder than riding the Wall of Death she sold her last motorcycle. But that is not the end of the story as she would visit the local Harley dealers often and check out the new bikes and talk about riding as well as attending bike club meetings, never losing her enthusiasm for motorcycles. She was inducted into the Sturgis Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 2009.

By: Rose and Lloyd On Sunday, December 14th, The American Legion Post 87 in High Point, NC had their annual Children’s Party for children of military families. We get names of children and families and make sure they have a good Christmas. There were approximately about 14 children this year, with food, music, and Santa. Each child got a chance to sit on Santa’s lap and receive toys, clothes, and gift certificates. It was such a wonderful time, to see the smiles and feel the happiness of these families. The Legion posted a Christmas tree with each child’s name, and a small list of what they wanted from Santa. Post members take a child and fulfill their wish list. The Post then added to the gifts, with coats, games, gift certificates, and other age appropriate items for each child. It was such an inspiration to be a part of yet another way to make sure as many children as possible have a happy and smiling Christmas.

Gabby presents check to SugarFoot By: Gabby Mintz, VP, Gaston County CBA Once a year for the past 3 years, The Karney Law Firm puts on the Bull Dog Hero Award’s. This is a program where Carolina bikers are nominated for their outstanding contributions to their biker communities. Bob Karney awards $1000 to the Bull Dog Hero of the year, and $500 each to others who are hand picked from those who are nominated. What an honor and awesome experience when Bob called out my name this year! I was shocked and overwhelmed. I had the pleasure of receiving a nice award, and got to pick out the 501(c) 3 charity of my choice and specify to whom the winnings of $500.00 were to be donated to. I will cherish that moment of fame for many years to come. There was never a question as to where I wanted the donation to go. I chose Gaston County Toy Run For Kids. It was simple. I love Christmas, and seeing the smiling faces of all those kids. The out pour of love shown by so many bikers, non bikers, police, and people from so many different walks of life that come together to provide unfortunate children toys, coats, boots, and treat bags for Christmas. The run is funded solely through donations and tee-shirt sponsorships. 100% of the money raised goes directly to the children in our communities. The ride is a parade route with police escort and bikers from everywhere come together. This year was dedicated to Buddy Sexton because it was his vision “To See The Smile On A Kid’s Face.” A huge “THANK YOU” to Buddy, SugarFoot, and everyone that is involved in making it possible to do this. I am very blessed to be a part of it. We invite you to join us on Saturday, December 5, 2015 for our 20th Annual Gaston County Concerned Bikers Association Toy Run.

South Carolina Bill Would Require Child Safety Seats And Belts On Motorcycles

Published by Cyril Huze December 20th, 2014 in Editorial & Events. South Carolina State Rep. Joseph Daning filed legislation that would require a standard, rear-facing child safety seat to be used for motorcycle passengers from birth up to 1 year of age and lap and shoulder belts for children younger than 7 and weighing less than 80 lbs. “We take care of our children in cars, but they’re so unprotected on the back of motorcycles” said Daning. Rep. Bill Taylor, called Daning’s proposal “government overreach” and said motorcyclists are a safety-conscious community. “The question is why do we need a law?. Who in their right mind would take a 1 or 2-year-old on a motorcycle and risk the safety of that child? I have been riding for decades and has never seen an infant placed on a motorcycle” said Taylor. When the issue was first raised, he suggested that the constituent concerns would be better handled by a family court judge instead of through legislation. H 3040: Section 56-5-3630 of the 1976 Code is amended to read: (F) Every driver of a motorcycle operated on the highways and streets of this State when transporting a child seven years of age or younger upon the public streets and highways of the State must provide an appropriate child passenger restraint system and must secure the child as follows:

49

(1) A child from birth up to one year of age or who weighs less than twenty pounds must be properly secured in a rearfacing child safety seat which meets the standards prescribed for motor vehicles by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. (2) A child who is at least one year of age but less than seven years of age and who weighs at least twenty pounds but less than forty pounds must be secured in a forwardfacing child safety seat which meets the standards prescribed for motor vehicles by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. (3) A child who is at least one year of age but less than seven years of age and who weighs at least forty pounds, but not more than eighty pounds, must be secured by a beltpositioning booster seat which meets the standards prescribed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The belt-positioning booster seat must be used with both lap and shoulder belts. A booster seat must not be used with a lap belt alone. (4) If a child is at least one year of age but less than seven years of age and weighs more than eighty pounds, the child may be restrained in an adult safety belt.” The bill was Prefiled and referred to Committee on Education and Public Works on 12-11-14

Carolina Coast Harley-Davidson Toys For Tots By: Meredith Wisniewski Sunday, December 7th, I attended one of my favorite events of the year, the Carolina Coast Harley-Davidson’s annual Toys For Tots event. The mission of the US Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November, and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. The primary goal of Toys For Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens. For more than 22 years Carolina Coast Harley-Davidson has held this event and they pull in a huge crowd. This year was no exception with right around 517 bikes participating in the ride plus those who came just to support the cause. The riders rode a slow pace together throughout Wilmington, NC escorted by New Hanover County Sheriff’s Department and Wilmington Police Department that did an excellent job of keeping it a smooth ride by blocking off every intersection and holding traffic. On the ride there were little groups of people here and there alongside the road waving and honking horns in support. Pulling back into Carolina Coast Harley-Davidson after the ride you could tell what was on everyone’s minds as we all walked briskly back into the warmth or some like myself straight in

line for the free plate of BBQ thanks to Carolina Coast who had the event catered by Parchies. In total there were 1500 toys and 58 bikes donated to Toys For Tots thanks to Carolina Coast and everyone who participated and there was also a total of $340 in cash donations. What a wonderful feeling leaving the event and as always I will look forward to attending again next year! Merry Christmas to all.

NC Policy Limits And Need For Underinsured Motorist Coverage Many motorists believe that simply having liability insurance on their car, truck or motorcycle means that they are covered for all expenses that may result from an accident. However, a deeper look into the dense forest referred to as insurance law will reveal that this often is not the case. Under North Carolina law, an insured driver must only maintain a minimum policy of $30,000 to cover bodily injuries that result from an accident. Additionally, the insured driver must maintain a minimum policy of $60,000 to cover all bodily injuries if multiple parties are involved, and a minimum policy of $25,000 to cover the property damage to your vehicle. The appropriate question to ask now is, “What does this all mean?” While the answer to that question is a complicated one, the answer is essentially this. If you are involved in a motor vehicle accident through no fault of your own, be it car, truck or motorcycle, and sustain injuries, the at-fault drivers insurance policy will control the amount of recovery you may seek for your personal injuries or property damages. As a motorcycle owner, the minimum policy of $30,000 should be especially concerning, due to the increased possibility of suffering a serious injury in an automobile accident. Medical expenses can surpass $30,000 in the blink of an eye, leaving the injured innocent party stuck with all of the excess medical bills. However, you can protect yourself with what is known as Underinsured Motorist Coverage “UIM”. UIM may be obtained through your insurance policy and its purpose is to help prevent being forced to bear the burden of paying excess medical bills that may not be covered under the at-fault’s driver insurance policy. UIM coverage is important for all motorcycle owners, not only to protect themselves, but to help protect their family members as well. To learn more about UIM coverage and specific policies, please contact your motorcycle insurance provider today.

Celebration Of Life For Barry “Ole Dog” Glenn By: Rose and Lloyd The riding community lost another family member: Barry “Ole Dog” Glenn the owner and operator of JR’s Corner Tavern. Not only did Barry with wife “Mama Kris” constantly serve their community and family bikers, but they faithfully sponsored an Annual Marine Corps “Toys For Tots “ ride. Barry served in the Navy, and was Associate Member of Marine Corps League, and A Marine Rider. There was a Celebration of Life held in his honor on December 3rd at the Moose Lodge in Thomasville, NC. Mama Kris said he had written down every detail of how he wanted this night. The biker family and long time friends packed the Moose Lodge. Food and drinks were provided as everyone shared memories and happy stories of a man we all loved. As Barry had insisted, he was there with us. I know he was smiling at all the memories. The Aries band played some of his favorite songs. Barry had always joked he would be famous when he got his picture on the cover of The Rolling Stone Magazine. A picture of Barry on the cover of the Rolling Stone Magazine was presented to Mama Kris, and the crowd all sang the song, “On The Cover Of The Rolling Stone” by Dr. Hook &

the Medicine Show from 1972. Several people got up and shared memories. Thank you to a family biker that had given back to any and everyone. As they took Barry out, they announced any that wanted to say a final good bye could step out the side door. Once outside with The Patriot Guard Riders standing in honor there was one last gesture of absolute humbling. As the car with Barry and family started to leave there was one beautiful display of fireworks from Barry’s own collection. All that had the pleasure of being his friend, knew that his life and love of Mama Kris, and the people he inspired, Barry celebrated life every day as if it were his last. I know he was smiling as he watched all who loved him celebrate the greatest gift of life. Barry was a man that will never be forgotten and will never really know how many lives he did touch. Barry you were a hero, my friend. My heart and love, along with many others will always carry you with us.

By: Meredith Wisniewski Sunday, November 9th was the day chosen by the ManleyReece VFW Post # 2573 to do their annual Veterans Day ride through Wilmington, NC. The ride left out of the VFW parking lot and security was run by the riders themselves blocking off intersections as the group headed towards the North Carolina’s Army National Guard 120th Infantry Regiment Compound. When we got there everyone hopped off their bikes and took time to walk around and read the dedicated bricks as well as the centerpiece, which was a battlefield cross. One of the bricks for instance was dedicated to Michael Murphy a SEAL who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Everyone observed a moment of silence before hopping back on their scoots to head back towards the VFW. Once back it was time to socialize, grab a well-portioned plate of BBQ, and enjoy music by The Fury. Overall it was a great ride and event with everyone’s mind on remembering and honoring those who have served and those who still serve today. God Bless our veterans here and past.

Spokes & Jokes

The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine staff screens hundreds of jokes each month. We make no claim to being politically correct. Most PC jokes just aren’t funny. If you are offended by any of the jokes on this page, take heart in the fact that we go to great lengths to offend everyone equally. This is not a hate crime! At our house we call it “pickin” and it is symbolic of your acceptance in the group. We live in the United States Of The Offended, so get over it!!

A drunken biker is riding through the city and his bike is weaving violently all over the road. A cop pulls him over. “So,” says the cop to the driver, “where have you been?” “I’ve been to the pub,” slurs the biker. “Well,” says the cop, “it looks like you’ve had quite a few.” “I did all right,” the drunk says with a smile. “Did you know,” says the cop, standing straight and folding his arms, “that a few intersections back, your wife fell off of your bike?” “Oh, thank heavens,” sighs the drunk. “For a minute there, I thought I’d gone deaf.”

A man was attempting to ride his bicycle from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon. He made it across the desert without incident, but when he reached the mountains, the steep grade wore him down. So, he decides to hitchhike. Some time later, a car approaches and offers the cyclist a ride, but admits, “Your bicycle won’t fit in the car.” So, he opens his trunk and takes out a piece of rope. Then, he ties one end of the rope to the bicycle and the other end to his bumper. “You’ve got a horn on your bike... If I go too fast, honk your horn and I’ll slow down.” This scheme worked well for several miles, until another car zooms past. Not to be outdone, the man takes off in pursuit with the bicycle in tow. Both cars fly through a speed zone and a trooper’s radar gun clocks them traveling at 120 mph. The trooper radios ahead to another officer and says, “You’ve got two vehicles headed your way and they’re both doing over 120 mph.” “10-4 good buddy,” replies the fellow trooper. The first trooper hesitates a moment, then adds, “And, you’re not going to believe this... there’s a guy following on a bicycle and he’s honking to pass!”

erything you have told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to make of your information, and the fact is I am still lost.” The man below says, “You must be a manager.” I am” replies the balloonist, “but how did you know?” Well”, says the man, “You don’t know where you are, or where you are going. You have made a promise which you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. The final fact is you are in the exact same position you were in before we met, but now it is somehow my fault.”

Subject: LIBERAL PARADISE “A liberal paradise would be a place where everybody has guaranteed employment, free comprehensive healthcare, free education, free food, free housing, free clothing, free utilities, and only law enforcement has guns. And believe it or not, such a place does, indeed, exist. It’s called prison.” Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Maricopa County Arizona Sheriff’s Office An Old Marine Gunny walks into a bar and takes a seat next to a most attractive woman. He gives her a quick glance then casually looks at his new Apple watch for a moment. The woman notices this and asks, “Is your date running late?” “No,” he replies, “I just got this state-of-the-art Apple watch, and I was just testing it.” The intrigued woman says, “A state-of-the-art watch? What’s so special about it?” The Old Gunny says, “It uses alpha waves to talk to me telepathically.” The lady says, “What’s it telling you now?” Well, it says you’re not wearing any panties.” The woman giggles and replies, “Well it must be broken because I am wearing panties!” The Old Marine Gunny smirks, taps his watch and says, “Damn thing’s an hour fast.”

When a physician remarked on a new patient’s extraordinarily ruddy complexion, he said, “High blood pressure, Doc. It comes from my family.” “Your mother’s side or your father’s?” the Doctor asked. “Neither,” the patient replied. “It’s from my wife’s family.” “Oh, come now,” he said. “How could your wife’s family give you high blood pressure?” He sighed. “You oughta meet her mother sometime, Doc!”

Three ladies are playing the 4th hole at a members-only golf club, when a naked man, wearing a bag over his head, jumps from the trees and runs across the green. The 3 ladies look and are in shock at the size of his manhood. The first lady says, ”Well he definitely is not my husband.” The second lady looks at his manhood and says, “He for sure is not my husband.” The third lady takes a good look and says, “He’s not even a member of this club!” A man is flying in a hot air balloon and realizes he is lost. He reduces his altitude and spots a man down below. He lowers the balloon further and shouts: “Excuse me, can you help me? I promised my friend I would meet him half an hour ago, but I don’t know where I am.” The man below says: “Yes. You are in a hot air balloon, hovering approximately 30 feet above this field. You are between 40 and 42 degrees N. latitude, and between 58 and 60 degrees West longitude.” You must be an engineer,” says the balloonist. I am” replies the man. “How did you know?” Well” says the balloonist, “ev-

A Jewish gentleman, fresh out of gift ideas, bought his mother-in-law a large plot in an expensive cemetery. On her next birthday, he bought her nothing. She was quick to comment loud and long on his thoughtlessness. “Well, you haven’t used the gift I gave you last year.” Bill Clinton was driving past the White House when he accidentally ran over the Obama’s new puppy, Sunny, crushing it flat as a fritter. He climbed out of his BMW and sat down on the grass totally distraught. He knew Michele would go friggin’ ballistic. Then Bill noticed a lamp half-buried in the ground. He dug it up, brushed it off and immediately a Genie popped out. “You have freed me from thousands of years of imprisonment,” said the Genie “As a reward I shall grant you one wish.” “Well,” said Bill, “I have all the material things I need, but let me show you this damned dog.” They walk over to the splattered remains of Sunny. “Do you think you could bring this dog back to life for me?” Bill asked. The Genie looked at the remains and shook his head. “This critter is too far gone for even me to bring it back to life. Maybe there’s something else you’d like?” Bill thought for a minute, reached into his pocket and pulled out two photos. “I had an affair with this beautiful young girl named Monica,” said Bill, showing the genie the first photo. “But I’m actually married to this woman named Hillary” and he showed the genie the second photo. “You see what Hillary looks like, so do you think you can make her look like Monica?” The Genie studied the two photographs and after a few minutes said, “Let’s have another look at that dog!”

The Beginning Can you believe it? 2015 is here; ready or not here we go. If you are like me it seems the older I get, the faster time passes by. This is a new beginning of a new year, time to plan the next 12 months events and make up schedules to follow. This time of year the idea of a “new beginning” reminds me of the very first words in the bible in Genesis, chapter 1, verse 1 that reads, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth”. Being a biker, I’m always wanting to build or create the perfect bike. It takes a lot of time and money and a lot of researching the newest equipment and parts. It’s nearly impossible to undertake such a task without some sort of manual. God gave us a life manual to go by, it’s called the Bible. We at His Laboring Few Biker Ministry of JESUS Christ encourage you to read your manual every day this year. It will make a difference in your life. It won’t pay all your bills or make your troubles go away, but it will lead you to the One who will never leave you or forsake you. No matter the situation you will face in the coming year, the answer is in our manual. If we commit to read and study this life manual then it makes it easier to deal with all that life can throw at us. The more we read, understand, and put into practice in our life, the more peace we will find. So, if you are anything like me, you are ready to read this book and find some peace and answers. It’s in there folks.

Give it a try. It’s a new beginning and a new life awaits you. His name is Jesus! In HIS wind, Popkorn
