EY! Check it out! This is the 200th issue of The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine. Now that’s 200 consecutive issues that have been published and distributed each and every month on time. Maybe that hasn’t sunk in, yet, but that is every month since August of 1998! I bet you cannot think of anything that you have done 200 times in a row. We have delivered magazines in snow, sleet, ice, and rain. We have produced issues when there have been power outages and when our printers have gone out of business. We have weathered $1800 per month increase in our paper costs and we are still here. We have seen numerous others attempt to do what we do. They didn’t last long. I can’t tell you why they quit, but I can tell you that here at The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine, we are dedicated to bringing you the best magazine that we can. We are here to support the biker community and our advertisers. Our staff and sales force are all riders that have their finger on the pulse of the riding community where they live and I believe that is what makes The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine stand out. There have been many advertisers that have come and gone over the years. We have been grateful for every one of them. Harley-Davidson of Greensboro is the only one that has been in every one of the 200 issues. I encourage you to stop by Harley-Davidson of Greensboro (or any of our other advertisers) and thank them for supporting The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine. Their support and your patronage is what has kept The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine free for 16 ½ years. Every time we get magazines from the printer and I look at the stacks of magazines, I see readers. Sometimes it is hard to imagine that we reach 20,000 readers every month. It makes me appreciate every one of you. It isn’t rocket science to realize that YOU make The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine successful. I want to leave you with one final number. Remember when McDonalds posted “?? Million burgers sold” on their signs? The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine has printed and distributed over 4 MILLION magazines! No one else in the Carolinas even comes close to these numbers. So, if you are thinking about advertising your business or event, consider the value of advertising in The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine. You get the most circulation (20,000 copies) over the widest distribution area (N & S Carolina) with the best on time record (200 issues) over the longest period of time (16 ½ years). It’s a no-brainer! Thanks for your support. Live life Full Throttle!

By: Rick Nail, Swap Meet Director, Charlotte Chapter CBA The Charlotte CBA Spring Bike Show & Swap Meet will be held at the Metrolina Expo Center, 7100 Statesville Road (Highway 21) Charlotte, NC on March 28-29, 2015 Spring time in the Carolinas and a young man’s (and everyone’s) thoughts turn to the Charlotte CBA Spring Bike Show & Swap Meet. It is more than a swap meet, it is a reunion of family and friends with bikes, clothes, parts, accessories, stunt rider shows, and live music. What more could you ask for? Twice a year for the last 40+ years, this show has been a successful gathering for motorcyclists up and down the east coast. The Concerned Bikers Association is a motorcycle rights organization. Unlike some big name shows that take your money out of state and nothing goes to support your biker rights, proceeds from the attendance at this show and any other CBA Chapter events go to help fund our

legislative activities in Raleigh. When you come to our show, you find friends and family and anything motorcycle related, plus you have the satisfaction of knowing your money is going to support your voice in Raleigh. On Saturday, March 28, the Community Blood Mobile will be set up at the front admission gate from 10:00 am until 1:30 pm. Stop by and give a pint of blood and receive $2 off your admission price to the show. Normal admission is $12 per day or $20 for the weekend. There are a lot of beautiful and unusual, one of a kind, bikes out there. Have some pride in your ride. Enter your bike in the bike show and show it off. $20 entry fee for each bike gets you into the show for both days. The first 20 bikes entered in the show also receive a free t-shirt. Times have changed. Styles have changed. Good times still roll at the Charlotte CBA Bike Show & Swap Meet. Will you be there? We hope so. See you there. Ride safe and free. Join CBA. The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine Fear Of February Party

By: WildThing The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine 17th Attempt, Almost a Tradition, Pre-Daytona, Valentine’s Day Fear of February Party and Oyster Roast is now in the record books! It was a smash success! Locked and Loaded Bar & Grill in Garner, NC was the host and their facility and large parking lot accommodated our grill and steamer, the vendors spots, and the bunches of party goers’, motorcycles, and cars. The weather was perfect – sunny and cool and dry. As we were setting up, the motorcycles started rolling in! We had five bushels of oysters sponsored by The Karney Law Firm and we spread out a few raw ones for those who enjoy them while the others were in the steamer. Ray Price Harley-Davidson sponsored the 200 pounds of chicken wings that we grilled that day. Thanks to Tim Nall of A & M Crane for sponsoring the grill and cooking. Also set up in the parking lot were Widow Maker Custom Design & Repair, Ray Price Harley-Davidson, Aiden’s Run, a national fundraising effort for children, Friends of Hometown Heroes, a biker gear vendor, and the local 81. Inside, Crystal Blade was setting up and they were great, playing some good southern rock from noon til 5pm. We had a table inside and were selling ‘Deal of the Day’ event t-shirts with five raffle tickets, giving away can koozies, and Karney Law calendars. The bar area and restaurant filled up as thirsty folks arrived. It was a transient crowd as everyone moved inside to get a brew then back outside to check out what was going on, and grab some oysters or wings. As our crew put the last batch of wings on the grill, and the oysters were a memory, we went inside for our tradi-

tional ‘Chuggin Contest’. Amazingly, 18 people volunteered to chug some free brewskis! Separated in to Men’s and Women’s contests, the first round eliminated all but four in each group, then down to two, then the finals. Shelly became the women’s champion, and Bruce the men’s, and then Shelly challenged Bruce. It was a photo finish, but Shelly edged Bruce out! They both received an engraved beer mug for their efforts. After a final flurry of raffle ticket purchases, we were ready for the ‘Deal’. Tickets were pulled to give away donated t-shirts from Hank at Widow Maker CDR and the Durham Hells Angels Support shirt as well as two Full Throttle event shirts. The next ticket pulled was for a beautiful red and black ladies’ leather jacket that we acquired at an auction. Donna from Raleigh was the ecstatic winner. The next raffle item was a lovely 14k gold heart shaped pendant with 1 caret total weight diamonds in it sponsored by Bruce Hayes ‘King of Diamonds’ Jewelers of Lexington, NC. John was the happy winner and when asked who he was going to give it to on this Valentine’s Day he replied, “I’m lookin’”! The finale raffle item, a Samsung 51” flat screen TV was won by Cookie, the Women’s Chuggin Runner-up! She was thrilled as was her hubby, Warren. They had no problem spiriting that big box out the door to their vehicle. We had a great time partying with the Triangle crowd, and Locked and Loaded was packed out all day; thanks Steve for hosting. As anyone who has organized a biker event knows, they cannot do it alone. I would like to take this moment to heartily thank the Full Throttle crew: Lincoln, Renea, Lydia, Tim, Ron and Kathy, and Danny and Nancy, you all are the best. If you missed it, I’m sorry, you’ll just have to try harder next February! ‘Til then, keep reading The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine, check out the Cruisin’ Calendar, patronize our advertisers, and Ride Safe

Rider Training And Education Contributes Little To Motorcycle Safety (So Says Our Safety Experts)

By: Matt Danielson, The Motorcycle Law Group Many groups, which are considered reputable within the highway safety community, have taken the position that motorcycle rider training and education contributes little to motorcycle safety. No you did not read that wrong. It is their position that rider education does not have a discernable impact on motorcycle safety, and that universal helmet laws are the only reliable method of reducing motorcycle fatalities. Do not take my word for it. Here is what the experts have to say: “While basic rider courses teach important skills, the effectiveness of training as a safety countermeasure to reduce motorcycle crashes is unclear” (Traffic Safety Facts, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration - March, 2010) “There is no scientific evidence that motorcycle rider training reduces crash risk and is an adequate substitute for an allrider helmet law” (Lethal Loopholes, Advocates for Highway & Auto Safety - January 2015) “Laws requiring all motorcyclists to wear helmets are the only strategy proved to be effective in reducing motorcyclist fatalities”. (MOTORCYCLE SAFETY: Increasing Federal Funding Flexibility and Identifying Research Priorities Would Help Support States’ Safety Efforts, U.S. Government Accountability Office - November, 2012) “Helmets are the only safety measure proven to save lives” (Motorcycle safety – How to Save Lives and Save Money, Center for Disease Control and Prevention – June 2012) Before I start to get the angry emails concerning the value of motorcycle helmets, let me be clear that my purpose in writing this has nothing to do with riders wearing or not wearing motorcycle helmets. My purpose is to question a position shared by many within the highway safety community that dismisses the value of rider education. In my opinion this position is at best illogical, and at worst dangerous. Let me use my oldest daughter as an example. She is twelve years old and loves motorcycles. She can’t wait until she is old enough to get her license. According to groups such as the Advocates for Highway & Auto Safety and the CDC, if I had to choose between having trained instructors teach her how to operate her motorcycle competently and defensively or putting a helmet on her head and sending her down the road, I should choose the latter. According to them, rider training and education is not a safety measure proven to save lives. Admittedly, the previous scenario is not based on any researched data. It is meant to demonstrate the flawed logic of the position that only universal helmet laws impact motorcycle safety, and that rider education is of little to no value. However, we can and should look at the available data in considering the value of rider training and education. According to the latest information published by the Na-

tional Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA), between 2005 and 2012, motorcycle registrations increased nationwide from 6,227,146 to 8,454,939. In 2005 there were 73.48 motorcycle fatalities per 100,000 registered motorcycles. By 2012 that rate had steadily dropped to 58.63. That means that between 2005 and 2012, motorcycle registrations increased 36% nationwide while fatality rates per 100,000 registered motorcycles decreased 20%. That is a significant and sustained decrease in fatalities in proportion to registered motorcycles. We see an even more drastic drop in motorcycle fatalities when they are measured against vehicle miles traveled. According to NHTSA, motorcycle vehicle miles traveled increased from 10,454,000 to 21,298,000 between 2005 and 2012. In 2005 the motorcycle fatality rate per 100 million vehicle miles traveled was 43.77. By 2012 that number had decreased to 23.27. That means that between 2005 and 2012, motorcycle vehicle miles traveled increased 104% while motorcycle fatalities per 100 million vehicle miles traveled decreased 47%. What could explain this massive improvement in motorcycle safety from 2005 to 2012? We know that during that time frame there was an increased emphasis on rider training and education. More motorcycle training sites were opened. More rider training coaches were certified. More riders took courses. Currently, forty-seven states have state legislated motorcycle training programs in place; the other three have private training facilities. We also know that more public and private organizations launched motorcycle awareness and “share the road” campaigns during this period. There is another important fact to consider in questioning the position espoused by groups such as the Advocates for Highway & Auto Safety and the CDC. Between 2005 and 2012 not a single state adopted a universal motorcycle helmet law. In fact, in May of 2012 Michigan repealed its universal helmet law. It is simply illogical to argue that universal helmet laws are the only proven safety measure when it comes to motorcycling. They certainly had nothing to do with the proportional decline in motorcycle fatalities between 2005 and 2012. No one will convince me that rider training and education did not play a significant role in that decline. Rider education and training focuses on avoiding a crash rather than merely surviving one. Regardless of the effectiveness of any piece of gear, there is no such thing as a safe crash. The only safe crash is the one that does not occur. That is precisely the goal of training and education, to keep the crashes from occurring in the first place. I will conclude by doing something that I have done in the past, but not often enough. I want to thank every instructor CONTINUED ON PG 20

12th Annual East Cooper ABATE Oyster Roast

By: Panhead Ron, Events Coordinator & Proud East Cooper Member On Sunday, February 8, 2015, East Cooper ABATE held their 12th Annual Oyster Roast benefiting motorcycle rights in South Carolina. The event started at 1:30pm at Richard’s Bar and Grill in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Due to the large crowds from prior years, changes were made to accommodate again the large number of bikers, with well over 500 bikers and friends attending the event, motorcycles lined the side of Hwy 17. As in the past, a $10 admission got you all you can eat oysters. There was also some other food available provided by Richard’s Bar and Grill. Live music was provided by Jefferson Coker Band. The band rocked, the chics were dancing, and the best guitar solos this side of the Mississippi were heard! The highlight of the day, besides the fellowship of bikers from all over the state and beyond, was the People’s Choice Bike Show. There was also a women’s bike show along with the men’s. A beer stein was awarded to first through third places in both classes with the inscription of “East Cooper ABATE People’s Choice Bike Show 2015”. Done in old school fashion, the names of 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners were asked to bring their motorcycles to the front of the stage for all to see and the winner was decided by the loudest cheer. Tom Israel took 1st place in the Men’s division with his ‘76 Shovel Rat Bike. 2nd place went to Chris Johnson’s 2013 CVO Breakout. 3rd place was owned by Jake Silver’s ‘76 XLCH Chopper. Melody Luznik took 1st place in the Woman’s division with her 2014 V8 Powered Trike. 2nd place went to Stephanie Johnson’s 2003 Fat Boy entry. Christy Mills took home 3rd place with her ‘07 Street Glide. Melody Luznik took the overall first place with her 2014 V8

power trike. Many Low country ABATE members were there to recruit new members and to let people know the real purpose behind ABATE of SC. Through events like this our main purpose is to expose motorcycle riders to the positive impact ABATE of SC holds in this state. Many thanks to All the East Cooper members and fellow Low Country chapters for their support and hard work to make this event such a success. The event committee has been a tireless leader for all of East Cooper ABATE events and this chapter would not be what it is today without their hard work and dedication to the freedom of the road. We hope to see you at next year’s Oyster Roast. We hope to have a few new contests in 2016. You might see a beard and tattoo show. Stay tuned.

The RDMCSE 5th Anniversary Party

could even light the sky on Sunday morning. I can’t mention any particular names, but there were more people than I can remember being in one saloon in a long time, only I remember us all being a lot younger and a little better looking. If you don’t belong to or know people in a Motorcycle Club (MC), then you probably don’t know that these men and women in the clubs do more charity work in the community than all the local churches and help organizations combined. And they don’t just show up for the holidays with toys for tots, these people help those in need all year long with fund raisers and charity events. Next time you’re broke down on the road, I would bet you that the first (and usually the only ones) to pull over to ask if you need help have a patch on the back of their jacket or are on a motorcycle. They may not be choirboys, but these are good people. Congratulations to the RDMCSE for 5 years of excellence and may you ride for a thousand more. Be sure to go to our website at FullThrottleMagazine.com for pictures from the event. If you weren’t there, then you sure oughta been.

A NEW PLACE FOR BIKERS

By: Everette “EZ” Short Though it seems like they’ve been on the beach forever, the Red Devils Southeast Motorcycle Club just celebrated their 5th year of pounding the asphalt with a thunderous roar on January 24th of this year. Hosted by ACME Bar & Grill, this gargantuan shindig was full to the brim with the whole gamut of local and interstate clubs showing up from every direction for a party that went off smoother than a fifty dollar bottle of bourbon. There was live music from the incredible sounds of Mr. Rick Cimmino, who was wailing out and getting down to some great old tunes, while over 200 bikers were drinking, dancing, and singing along with all the favorites. Like all proper birthday bashes, there were prizes and gifts from several local celebrity businesses including Bad Kitty, The Wild Horse Saloon, The Wrecking Ball, SBB, Jammin’ Leather, Fat Jacks, Momma Mia’s Pizza and so many others. In all, some serious schwag went on the floor and out the door. Chris and Billy, the owners of ACME Bar and Grill, get high marks for a party well done with special thanks going out to the ladies who did all the decorating, celebrating, and some serious clean up that went behind the scenes after the fact to destroy the evidence of a massive hoo haw birthday party. And to top it off, ACME even donated a kick ass cake that put a cherry on top of desert. In the end, there were no incidents, no accidents, no attitudes and no arguments. They came, they ate, they made memories, had fun, and they left before the sun

Steve, Tool Pouch, The Bird Man, Melton, 54, husband of Kelley Flynn Melton, died Saturday, February 14, 2015 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Born August 9, 1960, Steve was the son of Boyd Hugh and Daisy Dean Melton. He was a graduate of Spring Valley High School. Steve was a brilliant machinist. He worked at Precision Bearing and Machine and previously with Master Machine Works. He claimed he could fix anything from the crack of dawn to a broken heart. Steve was a true biker. He had a passion that few could rival and rode year round, no matter the weather. Sabrina, ‘The Biker Bird’, was his constant companion and, together, logged thousands of miles. He was a friend to all and selflessly helped anyone in need. He could always be counted on to organize and help out on any toy run, benefit, or bike game. He was a unique, free spirit and his smiling face will be missed by all who counted on seeing him at his regular haunts in Lake Lure and Lake Bowen. He especially doted on his loving wife, Kelley. And while Steve was a friend to many, he will also be remembered as a loving, inspiring, and incredible father. He raised three daughters on his own and never missed a school function or opportunity to instill his unwavering values in each of them. In past years he spent many weekends with his Borrowed Time Racing friends at various racetracks doing what he loved. He had the rare opportunity to ride an antique HarleyDavidson on the track at Daytona Speedway, and loved every minute of it. He was a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather. His presence in this world made as big a difference as his absence will. In remembrance of Steve, memorials may be made to: www. gofundme.com/mlw1ak. BidHarley’s Swap Meet MOTORCYCLE PARTS GARAGE SALE & SWAP MEET

1ST SATURDAY OF EVERY MONTH

FREE VENDOR SPOTS! EMPTY YOUR GARAGE, SHED, BARN, ETC RESERVE YOUR SPOT TODAY! Saturday, March 7th • 10-4pm

By: Gary Steelman Saturday, February 7 turned out being a decent day for BidHarley’s Swap Meet and Customer Appreciation Day with weather cooperating somewhat. Bikes started rolling in around 10am. There is no better way to start the day than with loud pipes. If you were looking for wheels and tires, look over to the right. Jackets, helmets and clothes were near the center of the lot. To find that just right bike, step to the curb. There were Sportsters, Fat Bobs, Street Glides, and some really nice baggers lined up and priced right. They even have some nice metric bikes from Shadows and Intruders to big sport bikes. John and Jessie were busy all day seeing to customer’s needs, answering questions, and selling bikes. They on hand to answer any questions on these bikes and to provide quick answers on financing for anyone interested in taking one home. Several bikes found new owners that Saturday, smiling faces all around. The food and drinks from Wilson’s Hotdogs and Wild Willies’ Wiener Wagon kept hunger at bay throughout the day. BidHarley is going to hold a swap meet and customer appreciation day on the 1st Saturday of every month. Setup is free to sell your un-needed parts and you’ll get to meet some great people while you are there. Come on by 1426 Northside Drive in Statesville, NC and check out the selection of bikes and other vehicles on the lot, or go to BidHarley.com and get the virtual edition of their selections.

RIP James Richardson

Dean “Kickstand” Summers On February 3, 2015, the CSRA Motorcycle community lost a great person, Mr. James Richardson. He entered peacefully into rest at his house surrounded by his family. Mr. Richardson was a former Richmond County firefighter and EMT for Aiken, SC. I met James when I first started with Full Throttle Magazine. I was delivering Full Throttle Magazine to Augusta Harley-Davidson when he walked up to me and asked me if he could get a magazine. I handed him one and we started talking, I say for at least 2 hours! He told me I should try to get Augusta Harley-Davidson in the magazine. James was a great guy who would do anything for you and was always there for charity events. He enjoyed riding motorcycles with his close friends and he loved his Georgia Bulldogs. James was the life of the party where ever he was and he would never say any thing that would hurt any body. He was loved by so many. I was honored to have known him. I would like to thank his wife, Dana, his son, Jason, and his

daughters Krista, Lauren, and Katy, his mother Joyce, and all his grandchildren for sharing him with the biker community. Also for allowing the biker community to be the honorary pallbearers and letting us escort the funeral precession. Memorial contributions can be made to the Augusta Warrior Project @ 4115 Columbia Rd., Suite 5-333 in Martinez. Our deepest condolences to his family. He will be missed by so many.

Bike Week 2015: A Tradition Grows

We received an e-mail from the Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and we condensed it down to the information that relates to bikers. Here is what we thought was important. The year 2015 marks the 74th Annual Bike Week. Since its inception, the rally has drawn millions of riders to the area in March. Visitors are invited to discover the new Daytona Beach and its surrounding area, a resurging destination along Florida’s East Coast comprising eight distinct communities. This year’s rally is expected to draw more than 500,000 motorcycle enthusiasts – many of them women – to the Daytona Beach and surrounding areas. Gas prices, which have reached their lowest level in years, are also expected to have a positive impact on the event. “Motorcycle events are huge economic generators in Daytona Beach,” explains Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Market Development Director Shawn Abbatessa, “And women are a growing part of that mix. Statistics and website analytics show that women as a market segment are the strongest and most influential consumer emerging in the bike event arena. We’re confident that our marketing efforts will not only enhance our motorcycle events, but also pay big dividends for 2015 and beyond.” Bike Week events are scheduled throughout Daytona Beach and surrounding areas, including key venues like worldfamous Daytona International Speedway; Daytona Beach’s

Main Street, Riverfront Park and Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard; and Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona, a year-round motorcycle complex that features Daytona HarleyDavidson’s 109,000 sq. ft. showroom, retail and specialty shops, restaurants, a concert pavilion, and an on-site hotel. Each venue offers visitors a variety of delicious foods, live music, biker apparel, and more. Nearby DeLand and New Smyrna Beach also offer activities during the festival. Visitors will see live music in hundreds of local venues and watch the pros compete in Daytona International Speedway’s Motorcycle Races. For those wanting to get a taste of the event’s history – and enjoy some fun and sun on the Original American Beach –riders can take a 10 mph cruise on the hardpacked beach in designated areas, just like rally-goers experienced back in 1937, the year of the first beach race. too, was to be removed because the cross offended this one man. This memorial was moved to the American Legion Post 290 in King. Another silhouette without the cross was made. It had a soldier kneeling before a battlefield cross. On February 7th, a rally, organized by the Stokes County Militia and 2 Million Bikers to DC, drew an estimated 1,000 bikers, local militias, and other concerned citizens to King Central Park for a rally to protest the removal of the Christian flag and a statue. We left American Legion Post 87 in High Point and rode to Post 290 in King. Shortly after arriving, the motorcade traveled about 1.5 miles to the Veterans Memorial, gathered for a moment of prayer and then proceeded to the amphitheater to listen to some very impressive speakers.

MARCH 14th

By: Mark Infield This story started back in 2004 when a monument funded by donations was built on land donated by the city of King, NC. It was a veterans memorial. All through the process of design and construction, no one objected to the Christian flag being a part of the memorial. Then ONE person complained that the flag offended him. He gave the council a deadline to have the flag removed or he was going to file suit to have it removed. With the help of the ALCU, the threat was issued and the council decided that they could not afford to pay the cost of the lawsuit and capitulated to the demands of this man, himself a veteran. The city ended up paying the ALCU $500,001 to resolve the issue. There was also a silhouette of a soldier on one knee in front of a cross that was donated and placed at the monument. It,

We are in the battle of our lives. We are under attack,” Cowan said to cheers from the crowd. Terrorism expert Gadi Adelman noted that the Supreme Court and Arlington National Cemetery displayed clear religious symbols legally as well as several other federally owned properties. “We are losing a battle in this country for the right to our faith, the same faith that made this country what it is,” he

Cassie Holcombe Memorial Ride & Benefit Dinner

By: Charles Holcombe Finding the words to describe how I feel about the multitudes of people who have jumped in and helped with the memorial and benefit for us is near impossible. Along with the Charlotte CBA Chapter combining with the Gaston CBA Chapter putting together the C & C Dice Roll Memorial Ride, which was supposed to be a benefit ride, and Stars & Bars in Salisbury, there have been many people on the frontline and many more behind the scene. First let me share some of the history that led up to these events. Cassie, my wife, was diagnosed with RSD and placed on long-term disability from her place of employment in 2013. Since this an invisible debilitating disease, not many saw the pain she lived with daily. Financially, we were OK, though. On July 9th 2014, I had suffered Congestive Heart Failure and was not able to work. Both short-term and longterm insurance refused to pay anything whatsoever. Well, SSI did kick in a compassionate allowance of $188.18 per month for 6 months. Now the financial thing was looking quite bleak. On October 6th, I went into surgery to have the upper right lobe of my lung removed (lobectomy) due to emphysema, and now I’m dealing with very severe COPD. The recovery went longer than expected and then some. On December 3rd, (my birthday) Cassie had spinal surgery on her C-3, 4 & 5 using titanium screws and mesh to hold everything together. While she was in the first day of recovery, her mother, Lou, just one mile away in another hospital passed away. The whole family was devastated and visibly heartbroken. Cassie was getting better slowly, but surely. With my COPD and Rheumatoid Arthritis I knew a chance at going back to work had diminished. On December 24th Cassie was admitted to the hospital with Pneumonia and recovered as normal. We were so looking forward to the benefit ride and dinner our friends, we call our brothers and sisters, had put together for us. On January 17th the lung thing landed me back in the hospital for a simple head cold that moved into my lungs. Not good! After nearly a week, Cassie came to pick me up and sounded like she was coming down with something. We bought all kinds of stuff to keep each other from catching the other’s germs. She went to her doctor and seemed to be recovering just fine, but on January 25th, suddenly and unexpectedly, Cassie went to be with our Creator. Most that heard the news were as much in disbelief as I was. She was just 43 years old

and in much better health than I was. Although we had just married in Maggie Valley, NC on May 2, 2014, we had been together for over 12 years. We met so many brothers and sisters within the CBA/ABATE of NC organization and had been very active. I remember taking her to her first bike rally in Hot Springs, NC put on by Buncombe County CBA. Upon entering I looked at her and said, “Honey, this will either make or break you”. She hung in there like an experienced trooper! Over the years, we attended many events to aid someone or a family, even a cause, and loved the camaraderie that one can only experience in the biker world. Bikers are some of the best people, hands down! We, along with our brothers and sisters, were always willing to help. But after our conditions had changed for the worse, health-wise and financially, we had found ourselves on the other side, the receiving end. I can’t possibly go into detail about all the love and support we received. There are just too many to name here, even just the ones that sent cards, some with a special gift. Many thanks, much love, and respect to the Charlotte members who contributed and made the transition into the Gaston CBA. The ride was awesome and had changed from a benefit ride to a memorial ride. Thanks, Gaston and Charlotte, for all y’all have done. There were also other chapters there and involved in one-way or another. Thanks to the GOC (Guardian of the Children) for your help and support. I saw some Dixie Drifters that came out to show support, also. There were so many I can’t remember them all, but one thing for sure, I’ll remember what you did for Cassie and me. There was a lot of planning that went into the Dice Ride and the food prep and serve, silent auction, and 50/50, which was all returned to the pot. The Jail House lockup seemed to be a great way to show your love! Hopefully one day I’ll get the chance to thank you all individually. Although it was in the cards that it took an hour to find my keys that morning and then the bike wouldn’t start, I had to cage it and still had a great day. The following week, an event had been planned for us (now me) at Stars & Bars Tavern in Salisbury, NC. Tim Rogers still owns it, but Lynn is the boss, ask anyone. Again, there were so many people that were involved in putting this event together that I couldn’t name them all here, not to mention all the folks and riders from several local clubs that stopped by. There was a swap meet going on there during the day, also. The 50/50, and bake sale did very well and Monkey Butt handled the auction like a pro. The food was some of the best I’ve had and,

just like the ride the week before, I saw so many of my brothers and sisters and am astonished at the outpouring of support. In Memory Of patches (by Leggz) are available at the bar or by contacting me on Facebook. I have no words to describe how much love and support all have shown us these past 6 months but I may find them, whenever I get through the grief of the loss of Cassie, my beloved friend, companion, soul mate, and wife. Love like this never ends. Pix from both events can be seen in their entirety by visiting FullThrottleMagazine.com.

By: Charlie Boone, CBA State President On February 4, 2015, 42 members of the Concerned Bikers Association (CBA/ABATE of NC) visited the NC Legislative Building to express their concerns to the members of the House of Representatives and Senate. The Bike Week Festival Task Force announced that Budweiser has been named an official sponsor of Bike Week 2015 in Daytona Beach, Florida, to be held March 6-15, 2015. Phil Maroney, Co-Chair of the Bike Week Festival Task Force, stated his appreciation for Budweiser joining in the sponsorship once again, “The Bike Week Festival Task Force is honored to have the ‘King of Beers’ continue their sponsorship as the “Official Beer of Bike Week” and we value their support.” Budweiser is once again the proud host of the Clydesdale Parade, an annual Bike Week tradition. See the iconic Budweiser Clydesdales parade down Main Street on March 7th, 8th, and 14th. All appearances are scheduled for 3:00 PM (weather permitting) and are expected to draw large crowds of enthusiastic onlookers. This year’s route starts at A1A and Oakridge Blvd, proceeding south on A1A to Main Street, west on Main Street to Peninsula, then north on Peninsula back to Oakridge. The combination of nature’s most extreme horsepower and the machine driven variety is a spectacle that few individuals are lucky enough to experience. Be sure to stop by and see the World Famous Budweiser Clydesdales at their stables at Destination Daytona and get

your passport stamped at the customer service desk of the Harley-Davidson Showroom. More information on the Budweiser Clydesdales can be found at http://goo.gl/YrRYkq. The Bike Week Festival Task Force also announced that AMSOIL® is the presenting sponsor of the 2015 Bike Week Treasure Hunt. The Treasure Hunt, an annual activity that riders enjoy, includes 10 locations in the greater Daytona Beach area. Hundreds of riders participate in the hunt by using the passport found in the Official Bike Week Pocket Guide that is distributed at the Official Bike Week Welcome Center in Riverfront Park, Daytona Regional Chamber lobby, sponsor locations, hotels in the area, and welcome centers throughout the State of Florida. The AMSOIL® Bike Week Treasure Hunt will take place during Bike Week, March 6-15, 2014. Harley-Davidson has been named the ‘Official Motorcycle of Bike Week’ in Daytona Beach for the 27th year in a row. Phil Maroney, Co-Chair of the Bike Week Festival Task Force, states his appreciation. “Having an American icon like Harley-Davidson associated with our event is ideal. Their dedication to Bike Week year after year is greatly appreciated, and we also thank their loyal base of motorcycle enthusiasts.” Harley-Davidson Motor Company kicks off its 74th Daytona Bike Week activities on March 7th at the Daytona International Speedway. The company will be at the Speedway through March 14th offering demo rides of 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycles, providing opportunities to learn more about all its great products and much more. Additional information on Bike Week in Daytona Beach can be found by visiting the Official Daytona Bike Week Website at OfficialBikeWeek.com featuring the largest online resource for attendees. For information on any aspect of Bike Week 2015, contact the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce at 386.255.0981 or email info@DaytonaChamber.com.

By Rose and Lloyd I could give a lot of details of how we meet and became friends with Randy and Angie. I could tell you stories of him standing by Angie as she fought her battle with cancer, stories of every charity event he participated in, riding almost every Sunday, having picnics at some special place, or riding the Parkway or Morrow Mountain, and opening his heart to everyone he could. No, I am going to tell you how we lost a gentle giant, and a man that took the word “friendship” to an ultimate level. A husband that knew he had found his soul mate, a father that gave his son, Dean, the ability to grow into a mature man. A daughter the way to love a man and be a loving wife Randy had some issues with his legs, but it never stopped him from enjoy his wind therapy. You could count on him calling every Sunday wanting to know what our journey for the day would be. That smile as he went through the wind, will be missed by so many. As many have, you left too early, but you will have our heart on every journey. I guess when you lose a friend it is normal to feel a void. You will be in our hearts on all our journeys, but there will always be that void. RIP Randy, you will forever be in our hearts.

By: Kathy Johnson I didn’t happen to just stop by Rommel on Heroes Day. I wanted to see who was in getting their more than deserved discount. Rommel didn’t just give heroes a discount, they also gave us an opportunity to take time out of our day and thank them. We see people all the time, but realizing you have a chance to stop and talk to someone you have never met and knowing you are indebted to them is different. Well, will you remember what you did that day? I know I will. I had a great day and a conversation with Mark Yarnall, AKA “Hero”. He was in the Navy for 23 years. He served as the leading Chief Petty Officer, weapons department on the USS GONZALEZ DDG-66. That is a destroyer named for sergeant Alfredo Cantu Gonzalez. Gonzalez was a recipient of The Medal of Honor and The Purple Heart. He was killed in action in Hue City, Vietnam. You might watch a lot of movies with people portraying a hero, but Sergeant Gonzalez was unbelievable in the sacrifices he made for our country and the lives he saved, even when wounded, denying treatment, and continuing to do battle until he was killed in action. His history is better then any made up movie because his story is real and was for YOU. I learned allot meeting Mark Yarnall and I was glad he was happy with his discount at Rommel Harley-Davidson. He currently rides with the Combat Vets Chapter 15-6. I was a bit selfish. I was most happy that after we talked, I was able to thank him for everything he has done. It was an afternoon well spent so when you see Mark riding with his club, make sure you thank them. They sure do deserve it.

American Motorcyclist Association News & Notes February 2015 Washington, D.C.: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the number of motorcyclists killed in traffic crashes declined by 6.4 percent from 2012 to 2013, and the number injured dropped 5.4 percent. In 2013, 4,668 motorcyclist fatalities were reported, down 318 from the 4,986 in 2012. Similarly, 88,000 “occupants” were reported to have been injured in motorcycle crashes in 2013, down from 93,000 the year before. The NHTSA also reported that motor vehicle crash fatalities overall decreased by 3.1 percent in 2013 and injuries declined 2.1 percent. One factor in the lower incidence of motorcycle crash fatalities was an 8.3 percent decrease in the number of motorcycle crashes in which the rider was impaired by alcohol, the NHTSA reported. The NHTSA report also noted that there were 190 fewer fatalities in 2013 among motorcyclists aged 50 to 69 years. That decline represented 60 percent of the total decrease in motorcyclist fatalities. “Motorcyclist safety is of utmost importance,” says AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman. “That is why the AMA is participating in the Motorcycle Crash Causation Study underway at Oklahoma State University. We hope that the information from this extensive examination of motorcycle crashes

will lead to better strategies for making our roads safer for motorcyclists.” The Motorcycle Crash Causation Study is the first comprehensive examination since the 1981 Hurt Report on the factors contributing to motorcycle crashes in the United States. When the project is completed in 2016, it will provide a large and unique data set derived from actual motorcycle crashes and riders with similar risk characteristics, with a focus on the unique circumstances that produce motorcycle crashes. The Motorcycle Crash Causation Study will provide up-todate information on the types of dangers modern motorcyclists face. The study is important, because it will provide new insights into which factors affect motorcyclist safety and how. AMA members contributed money to help pay for the study, and the AMA encouraged states to redirect unused federal funds to the effort. Supporting the study are the Federal Highway Administration, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the states of Iowa, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas and Wisconsin. The 2015 Easyriders Bike Show Tour Charlotte

By: Wildthing The Charlotte Convention Center was alive with activity as vendors and bike builders from all over the southeast were setting up their displays and booths the afternoon of January 23, 2015. The tunnels and ramps were full of trucks and trailers, and all manner of equipment shuffling was going on to prepare for the opening of the big show on Saturday morning. The Easyriders 2015 Bike Show Tour begins in California with shows in Long Beach and Sacramento. Then the southeast gem, the show at the Charlotte Convention Center on College Street in downtown before heading off to Nashville TN and then the finals at the Invitational in Columbus Ohio in late February. There were hundreds of ‘Sons of Anarchy’ fans excited to attend the Charlotte show and get a chance to get an autograph and photo op with one of the stars, Tommy Flanagan, who portrayed the character ‘Chibs’. Here at The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine, we have been working with the promoter and Easyriders Show staff for several years and this year they offered us tickets to the V.I.P. Meet & Greet with Tommy Flanagan prior to the public autograph session. We posted a motorcycle license plate ‘poker hand’ competition on our website to determine who would get to go to the V.I.P. session with us. We were happy to find the winner was a recent acquaintance of ours from Indian Trail, NC. We accompanied Dakoda and Luke who received 11 X 17

autographed Easyriders Bike Show Tour poster and we took pictures of them and their friends with Tommy. When the gates opened at 10 am, people flooded the escalators and swarmed onto the floor of the Convention Center. This was the largest attendance I have seen in years and they weren’t disappointed. There were tons of gorgeous custom motorcycles from wild to mild with a few antiques sprinkled around. There were spectacular paint jobs and the most prevalent model was, of course, the bagger. Maybe because Paul Yaffe of Bagger Nation was on hand and baggers

command a good portion of the awards. Some had elaborate displays and the huge front wheel bikes that are at their popularity peak these days. There were vendors galore hawking riding gear, jewelry, t-shirts, and the Easyrider Roadware truck had its latest offerings. The Geico Motorcycle Insurance Truck was on hand with an Armed Forces Tribute bike by Paul Jr. There were several Carolina bike shops and some dealerships on hand advertising their abilities and wares. There was a wonderful exhibit of motorcycle art by the inimitable David Mann. Just browsing the booths could take hours! I know we were kept busy all day at The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine booth handing out 2100 magazines! On stage, the Andy Buckner Band played sets throughout the day and the Purrfect Angelz modeled the Easyrider Roadware fashions and were available for pictures at their booth periodically. There were door prize giveaways and everyone could vote on his/her favorite bike and turn in their ballot at the ballot booth. Oh yeah, there was some pretty cool custom cars and hot rods on display, too. The grand finale of the day was the presentation of the Peoples’ Choice awards and the trophies for the Judged Classes. The big winners get an invitation to the finals in Ohio. Here is a list of the winners. Spokes & Jokes

60

The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine staff screens hundreds of jokes each month. We make no claim to being politically correct. Most PC jokes just aren’t funny. If you are offended by any of the jokes on this page, take heart in the fact that we go to great lengths to offend everyone equally. This is not a hate crime! At our house we call it “pickin” and it is symbolic of your acceptance in the group. We live in the United States Of The Offended, so get over it!!

A 25-year-old Irish Catholic girl tells her mum that she has missed her period for two months. Very worried, the mother goes to the local pharmacy and buys a pregnancy test kit the test confirms that her daughter is pregnant. Shouting and crying, the mother says, “Who was the selfish bastard that did this to you? I demand to know!” Without answering, the girl picks up the phone and makes a call. Half an hour later, a Bentley stops in front of their house and a middle aged and very distinguished man steps out of the car and enters the house. He sits in the lounge with the father and mother, and tells them, “Your daughter has informed me of the problem. I can’t marry her because of my personal family situation but I’ll take charge. I will pay all costs and provide for your daughter for the rest of her life.” He continues, additionally, if a girl is born I will bequeath two retail furniture stores, a deli, a chateau in France and a £1 million bank account.” He continues, “If a boy is born my legacy will be a chain of jewelry stores and a £25m bank account.” “However, if there is a miscarriage I’m not sure what to do. What would you suggest?” All silent at this point, the mother placed a hand firmly on the man’s shoulder and told him, “You’ll try again.”

“But you don’t understand I’m Pastor Fluff.” The bartender said, “Ah well, if you’re that far in, ye might as well finish.” An American lawyer asked, “Paddy, why is it that whenever you ask an Irishman a question, he answers with another question?” “Who told you that?” asked Paddy.

“Toothbrushes!” echoed the teacher, “How could you possibly sell enough tooth brushes to make that much money?” “I found the busiest corner in town,” said Little Johnny, “I set up a Dip and Chip stand and gave everybody who walked by a free sample. They all said the same thing, ‘Hey, this tastes like dog crap!’ Then I would say, ‘It is dog crap. Wanna buy a toothbrush?’ I used the government’s approach of giving you something crappy for free, and then making you pay to get the taste out of your mouth.”

S E K O P S & S E K O J

Two blondes were driving to Disneyland. The road sign said: Disneyland Left. So they started crying and headed back home.

The Reverend John Fluff was the pastor in a small town in Ireland. One day he was walking down on Main Street when he noticed a young lady of his congregation sitting in a pub drinking beer. The Reverend wasn’t happy. He walked through the open door of the pub and sat down next to the woman. “Miss FitzGerald,” he said sternly, “This is no place for a member of my congregation.” “ Why don’t you let me take you home?” “Sure,” she said with a slur, obviously very drunk. When Miss FitzGerald stood up from the bar, she began to weave back and forth. The Reverend realized that she had much to drink and grabbed her arms to steady her. When he did, they both lost their balance and tumbled to the floor. After a few moments, the Reverend wound up on top of Miss FitzGerald, her skirt hiked up to her waist. The pub barkeep looked over and said, “Oy mate, we won’t have any o’ that carrying on in this pub!” The Reverend looked up at the bartender and said,

A lady goes to the bar on a cruise ship and orders a Scotch with two drops of water. As the bartender gives her the drink she says, “I’m on this cruise to celebrate my 80th birthday and it’s today.” The bartender says, “Well, since it’s your birthday, I’ll buy you a drink. In fact, this one is on me.” As the woman finishes her drink, the woman to her right says, “I would like to buy you a drink, too.” The old woman says, “Thank you. Bartender, I want a Scotch with two drops of water.” “Coming up,” says the bartender. As she finishes that drink, the man to her left says, “I would like to buy you one, too.” The old woman says, “Thank you. Bartender, I want another Scotch with two drops of water.” “Coming right up,” the bartender says. As he gives her the drink, he says, “Ma’am, I’m dying of curiosity. Why the Scotch with only two drops of water?” The old woman replies, “Sonny, when you’re my age, you’ve learned how to hold your liquor. Holding your water, however, is a whole other issue.” Murphy told Quinn that his wife was driving him to drink. Quinn thinks he’s very lucky because his own wife makes him walk.

The kids filed back into class Monday morning. They were very excited. Their weekend assignment was to sell something, then give a talk on productive salesmanship. Little Sally led off: “I sold Girl Scout cookies and I made $30,” she said proudly, “My sales approach was to appeal to the customer’s civil spirit and I credit that approach for my obvious success.” “Very good,” said the teacher. Little Jenny was next: “I sold magazines,” she said, “I made $45 and I explained to everyone that magazines would keep them up on current events.” “Very good, Jenny,” said the teacher. Eventually it was Little Johnny’s turn. The teacher held her breath. Little Johnny walked to the front of the classroom and dumped a box full of cash on the teacher’s desk. “I made $2,467,” he said. “$2,467!” cried the teacher, “What in the world were you selling?”

Irish lass customer: “Could I be trying on that dress in the window?” Shopkeeper: “I’d prefer that you use the dressing room.” Did you hear about the teacher who was helping one of her pupils put on his boots? He asked for help and she could see why. Even with her pulling, and him pushing, the little boots still didn’t want to go on. By the time they got the second boot on, she had worked up a sweat. She almost cried when the little boy said, “Teacher, they’re on the wrong feet.” She looked, and sure enough, they were. Unfortunately, it wasn’t any easier pulling the boots off, than it was putting them on. She managed to keep her cool as, together, they worked to get the boots back on, this time on the correct feet. He then announced, “These aren’t my boots.” She bit her tongue, rather than get right in his face and scream, “Why didn’t you say so?” like she wanted to. Once again, she struggled to help him pull the ill-fitting boots off his little feet. No sooner had they got the boots off when he said, “They’re my brother’s boots. But my Mom made me wear ‘em today.” Now she didn’t know if she should laugh or cry. But she mustered up what grace and courage she had left to wrestle the boots BACK onto his feet again. Helping him into his coat, she asked, “Now, where are your mittens?” He said, “I stuffed ‘em in the toes of my boots.” Paddy was in New York. He was patiently waiting and watching the traffic cop on a busy street crossing. The cop stopped the flow of traffic and shouted, “Okay, pedestrians.” Then he’d allow the traffic to pass. He’d done this several times, and Paddy still stood on the sidewalk. After the cop had shouted, “Pedestrians!” for the tenth time, Paddy went over to him and said, “Is it not about time ye let the Catholics across?”

Bad Advice

Well wasn’t February typical? 70º one weekend and sub zero temperatures the next. And let’s not forget the snow, ice, and busted water pipes. I even felt bad for my old shovelhead when the 50-mile per hour wind blew the cover off of it. But be strong brothers and sisters, spring is coming soon. Lots to do and places to ride are just ahead. Now when we are getting ready for all our journeys we may receive allot of tips and suggestions from people everywhere. But don’t be like the guy in the you tube video who took some “bad” advice from a friend concerning adding nitrous oxide to his freshly rebuilt engine. The friend told him adding the nitrous would greatly improve the performance of his ride. So they got out a full bottle of the wonder juice added a hose to it and stuck the other end in the air filter housing. Now I’m no expert on the subject, but I can just about guarantee that’s not how it works. Any way, he starts the newly rebuilt motor and it sounded pretty good as he brought the rpm’s up. Then the friend opens the bottle and revved even higher. Then, yup, the new motor puked all those new parts everywhere. Now I’m sure the friend felt bad about giving bad advice, but the damage was done. The Bible speaks of this type if advice. 2 Peter 1: “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privately shall bring damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that brought them, and bring upon themselves swift

63

destruction.” When it comes to your walk with God do not allow anyone to give you “bad” advice. Read the word of God yourselves and pray and He will show you through His Spirit what His plan for you is. We are living in a changing world and need sound advice. So please find a Bible preaching church and study the Word daily so your life doesn’t blow apart like the engine in the video. Please try Jesus. He won’t lead you down the wrong path In “HIS” wind, Popkorn

Ray Price Boot Camp

SELECT CYCLE DOWNTOWN GREENSBORO

By: Samantha Hayes On February 7th, friends, family, and new riders poured into Ray Price Harley-Davidson to attend our monthly New Rider Boot Camp. Everyone involved got a bag filled with items including a raffle ticket for gifts at the end of event. To get everyone acquainted, all of the attendees, along with the staff, introduced themselves. The first stop for the Boot Camp is where attendees learn about the different classifications of bikes and what makes each one unique. Everyone is also taught how to safely mount and dismount a motorcycle. This protects riders from any injury or the possibility of dropping the bike. Following that section, everyone was led to the Winner’s Circle to learn about everything that can be done to a bike in reference to fitment and customization. Along with learning about the customization options, attendees got to learn about the H-D1 program where riders can order a fully customizable bike to be built for the rider at the factory. After learning about motorcycles, the next step was to learn about the proper clothing to wear. Clothing is extremely vital for riding and the attendees learned about which clothing is best for certain seasons or temperatures to maximize protection

along with why each item of clothing is necessary for protecting a rider. Helmets, boots, gloves, jackets, and pants were all explained in detail as to why they are important and different styles of each were shown to show everyone that there are options. The only thing left to do after learning about motorcycles is to actually get on one and ride! At the end of the Boot Camp, riders had the option to get on our JumpStart, which is an actual motorcycle mounted in place so riders could be taught how to ride without the fear of injuring themselves. As well as the JumpStart, everyone dug into their bags and found their raffle tickets hoping to win some awesome prizes. One lucky woman won a voucher for a free Riding Academy class and another attendee won a free motorcycle rental. There many other prizes such as hats, shirts, sunglasses, and more were given away. Our New Rider Boot Camp isn’t just for riders, it’s for friends and family who want to know more about motorcycles or the hobby a loved-one is getting into so they can realize how safe and enjoyable it can be! Boot Camps are on every first Saturday of the month, year-round, and they start at 10:30 am. Come on out and enjoy learning something new!

Switch To Your New Shades

By: Buzz Sunglasses are not only an essential part of your riding gear, but they are part of your “look”. So you make sure that you have some shades that not only function correctly but look good, too. I have used ‘em all, from high end Oakley’s and Wiley X to the emergency gas station shades. But you can’t just run out the door without your clears, too! I know when I get out for a ride, I’m not coming back before sundown, so make sure you have your clears with you, too. I have been known to forget my clears and then there is that awkward ride home with your sunglasses half on half off. Maybe your ride doesn’t have saddlebags and your space is at a premium and that extra pair of clears are tuff to hold on to.

Never miss a Ride! •UPCOMING EVENTS! •BIKE NIGHTS! •SPECIALS! Get the weekend events update sent straight to your inbox!

fullthrottlemagazine.com

Recently, I was put on to a new set of shades to try out that solve both these problems; The Magnetic Interchange Lens System™. I like new technology, when it works, so I thought I would give this new “system” a shot. The Switch Magnetic Interchange Lens System™ lets you adapt instantly with the world’s first Magnetic Interchange Lens System™. Switch uses high-energy magnets embedded in the lens and frame that let you swap in the lens you need quickly and easily. These lenses practically jump into place, but stay put once they’ve snapped into position. And they’re engineered to stay in the frame when dropped from a height of six feet or subjected to repeated jarring. I have to say; I thought the switch sunglasses are really cool. I like the option to change the lenses out when you want or need to. Also the lenses are high quality and don’t get cloudy when looking towards the sunset you are chasing. So, when you leave out, you can have your sunglasses lenses in, and when the light changes, you can switch to amber or clear lenses. The additional lenses come in individual compact carrying cases with corresponding magnets to hold them in place while they are in your pocket or saddlebag. Switch has a whole line of lenses and frames to choose from. Lenses range from clears, rose, ambers, polarized sunglasses lenses and all points between. You can also choose from full rim, semi rim and rimless frames to match your style. I went with the bold Switch B-7, a tuff looking black full rim set of frames, and the polarized sunglasses paired with the clear lenses. Check out SwitchVision.com to view the full selection. You can also get the interchangeable lenses with your Rx! So stop carrying around multiple pairs of bulky sunglasses and grab yourself some Switch Magnetic Interchange Lens System™ frames. You won’t regret it.
