Evolvi Rail Systems gained RDG accreditation for its split ticketing functionality in January ‘24 and this functionality is available in both the Evolvi GUI and API
Through new travel policy settings, TMCs can give their clients the ability to request split tickets, which are returned where they are cheaper than a regular through fare All split tickets offered are single tickets, whether for a one way journey or for dual singles to form a return
TMCs can configure whether clients can split their tickets on advance fares, flexible fares or a combination of both. They can also configure whether tickets are split at board/alight stations or at train calling stations.
Information is provided throughout the booking and confirmation processes to ensure that bookers and travellers are fully informed of the impact – i e whether to stay on the train or alight when changing ticket and also when to change seats should it not be possible to reserve the same seat for the duration of a journey.
The functionality supports multiple splits, although this is currently limited to one Ultimately this will be increased upon TMC request, and in turn TMCs will be able to configure the number of splits available to their clients
Prior to being able to use Evolvi’s new functionality, any TMC that uses the Evolvi back office handoffs must ensure that their back office provider has upgraded to V23 of the handoff schema
TMCs that use Evolvi can find out more by contacting Evolvi Support, support@evolvi.co.uk

Domestic hotel bookings on the rise according to the HotelHub Index for Q1 2024
HotelHub, the leading hotel technology solution provider for travel management companies and their corporate customers, has released its Q1 2024 HotelHub Index, an analysis of over 15 million hotel bookings
The findings reveal that companies are sanctioning more domestic travel in place of international trips, which have declined by 19% compared to the same time last year Domestic hotel bookings are rising as a proportion of corporate travel and now represent 62% of all transactions, up from a 52% share in Q1 2023
This decline in international travel marks a stark break with the gradual recovery of overseas business travel seen since the end of the pandemic and suggests that companies remain cautious in an uncertain economic environment
Other key findings from the index include:
• The average room rate per night has grown by 8% globally compared to Q1 2023, increasing from an average of $164 to $177 per night
• The average spend per hotel booking has increased by 7% from $414 in Q1 2023 to $442 in Q1 2024
• Business travellers are condensing some trips to stay within budget For example, in Asia, the average duration of stay has decreased by 8%
• However, the average international length of stay has increased by 5 3% overall, indicating that travellers try to accomplish more when they do travel overseas

SilverDoor frequently receives requests for Mumbai, New Delhi, and Hyderabad Demand in Pune is also rising rapidly, as it gains recognition in the IT sector, alongside Bengaluru, known as India’s ‘Silicon Valley’ and the nation’s leading software exporter
Bengaluru hosts 1,400 IT companies and employs over 4 million people It is the second-largest tech hub in AsiaPacific after Beijing, with companies like Mercedes Benz, Adobe, Airbus, and Boeing having global R&D centres there
India’s market is evolving, and the current general election could bring further changes With 969 million eligible voters, it is the largest democratic event in history A change in government may reflect the younger generation’s demand for more employment opportunities, potentially altering the workforce and corporate landscape
“Clients frequently ask about the Indian market and the current serviced apartment scene There’s a short supply of quality serviced accommodation, so availability is challenging as clients are interested in the same options We’re working to raise the profile of corporate housing and expand our portfolio, with some clients inquiring about reserved housing agreements in cities like Pune to guard against supply shortages,” says Sophie Brinsley, SilverDoor’s Executive Vice President – APAC.
