Welfare

The final term of University for me was the most stressful term I’ve experienced whilst at Durham yet also the most fun term I’ve ever had over the 3 years. Dan and I planned our ‘Stress Less’ week which entailed a variety of COVID safe activities such as: free smoothies, the petting zoo and free welfare goody bags. We had an overwhelming turn out for each of these events and it made both of us so happy to see all year groups getting involved and taking some time away from revision to do something different.

My highlight of the year was by far our self-love campaign and creating a piece of artwork for this despite the lockdown. I think it demonstrated what a strong community John Snow holds and how much we all look out and care for one another. I’ve adored being Female Welfare for the past year and I feel really fortunate to have had the opportunity to help so many people over the year, whether that be through our online campaigns, activities or personally messaging people. Stress Less Week

As part of the John Snow Welfare Stress Less Week, our students were able to enjoy some down time during the exam period, stepping away from their revision to be able to pet some sheep, goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ducks and chickens.
