Matriculation Book Signing
Although Matriculation 2020 was cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions, at the beginning of Easter Term, the University invited each Durham College to a small ceremony at the Teaching and Learning Centre to sign the University’s Matriculation Book. Each Year, two students from each College – one undergraduate and one postgraduate – would sign this book during the Freshers' Week matriculation ceremony in Durham Cathedral. To mark the tradition, our two student representatives, Anton Torres (undergraduate) and Ella Mackenzie (postgraduate) processed from the Pump in College to the Teaching and Learning Centre with the Principal, Vice-Principal and JCR President. Also present at the ceremony was the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Colleges, Jeremy Cook, who welcomed the students as they signed their names on behalf of the 2020/21 cohort of students.
