December has arrived! It never ceases to amaze me how much faster time moves now that I am chronologically an adult. It seems to me that last night was January 1st 2016 and here we are 31 days away from 2017. When I was a kid an hour was a lifetime! It took days to get from Breakfast to lunch and now I wake up at 7am on a Monday morning and go into the kitchen to get a cup of coffee and it’s Friday.

w w w. i s s u u . c o m / t h e b e t t y p a g e s

2016 brought many changes to our world and one of the biggest of those may be the changing of the guard at our Federal Government level. The Republican Party controls both the House, the Senate and the Presidency beginning at the end of January. It has been a full decade since this last happened Many are concerned that without a way to slow the process, much of the “over the top” rhetoric of the 2016 Presidential campaign could actually become reality. You remember? Walling off the borders, repealing health care, deporting millions of immigrants, registering American Muslims, allowing business owners to discriminate based on their “deeply held” Religious values, privatizing Social Security, withdrawing all Federal funding from Municipalities that participate in the Sanctuary Movement, allowing the States to not recognize same sex Marriage. Those things. Thankfully, there has been some backpedaling by the now President Elect on the affordable care act, and he has been quoted as saying that the Supreme Courts decision settles the gay marriage issue. Time will tell. Some of the Nation’s largest Cities Mayors have served notice that they will not go along with any effort to stop the sanctuary movement, roll back lgbt rights or register Muslims, even if they lose access to Uncle Sam’s wallet as a result. This preemptive political warning shot by the Mayor of New York, the Mayor of Seattle, and the Mayor of Minneapolis among others is not politics as usual. When Mayors instruct their budget managers to figure out away to “run the store” without Federal funds, that should at least raise some eyebrows. In the end, in my humble opinion, the best thing for us now is to practice compassion and kindness. Local solutions must be found for our problems. As Federal Programs that aid the working poor are slashed we will need to come up with local options to fill the gap. All of us have to step up to the defense of the marginalized members of our communities. We are no longer living in a time when it will be OK to look the other way when you see discrimination. If Federal protections for civil rights fall then we must have the political will to pass local laws to replace them. Remember what I said about the passage of time? I guess I am glad this is happening now that I am chronologically an adult. That means the next 4 years will be over quickly and as pain free as humanly possible. Great news on the entertainment front! Your miss Betty is returning to the local entertainment scene! The Betty Desire Show will be back at Rumor’s Cabaret Sunday Nights at 8pm. End your weekend with an hour with Miss Betty and still get home for the ten ‘o’clock news! Happy Holidays!

Prejudice

Jon Kimes via Facebook

w w w. t h e b e t t y p a g e s . c o m

w w w. i s s u u . c o m / t h e b e t t y p a g e s

Prejudice is when one sees another as different and also when one sees that other as less than. It is when you believe that in some way you are better, more deserving and somehow more blessed than someone else or a group of someone elses. It is the epitome of separation and as we have told you, separation is a falsity, it is a notion that you have created in your human experience that does not exist. When you make the decision to separate others into a group and call them unworthy what you are doing is separating yourself. If you think this allows for pure vibrations flow then you are mistaken. If you believe that the source, or as you like to call it, God, has only made you and those others are made or loved or adored by another entity, and an entity that you do not respect or do not feel needs to be thought of as equal to whomever you have given your allegiance you are so terribly confused. When you believe the color of their skin or the nature of their religion or whatever else you choose to allow yourself to identify as separation what you are doing is telling source that what has been created is a mistake, is an error in bad judgment. To say that is a ridiculous thought is beyond imagination. It is not honoring source or yourself or others. There are so many problems with prejudice. First this puts you in the belief that you should have control or judgment over others. You do not. You should not. And it is absurd that you think you do. Do you see how wrong this is? When you put yourself up front of the line and you say, “Here I am and back there are those people and they are not as good as me,” you are really making a mess of it. That is ego yelling and waving its hands, “Look at me! I’m marvelous and those people are not marvelous!” Well, this is just a mistake. And more than a mistake as this takes you away from God, from source. Imagine for a moment you are near source and for purposes of illustration let us make him that wise, bearded older gentleman you like to picture. And now, in front of God you proclaim your prejudice. “Well, they have done bad things and I do good things. That is why they are back there. In the back bleachers. You made me better than they are. Mr God I know you can agree with me in my superiority. You are like me, I am a mirror image of you and I don’t know what those things are back there.” God will stand there and hold you in love. And also hold those in love. But by your actions and your perspective you are now moving away from God. You are speeding backward, and you are trying to stop this, you are reaching out for anything as a brake to keep you from moving backward. And God stands there but back you go. Now God did not push you back, God did not reject you. But by your own thoughts and actions you moved away from God. You cannot be close and connected to God when you divorce yourself from universal connection. It was your choice to disconnect yourself. So why are there different people and why do some people think they are superior to others? Well, people like to separate themselves because they want to be believe they are more special than others. And they will use differences to highlight that separation. “Those kinds of people are not as intelligent as I am,” some will say. Maybe and maybe not. But who said intelligence is the only or most important characteristic of a people? Who said being more intelligent is the universal ideal? You all are equally intelligent in fact but in your human form, conjoined with the human animal, some are more intelligent than others. Now let us describe this to you as Jon loves dogs and dog breeds and so this will be a good way to describe it. The Border Collie is the most intelligent dog breed. They are very clever and compared to some dog breeds, they are far more intelligent. They are thus so because the nature of their work requires a quick mind and a resourceful mind. But does the Border Collie make the best guard dog? If you need a guard dog, will a Doberman Pinscher not be a better solution? If you need a dog to pull a sled in sub zero weather, is the Border Collie the best choice or would a husky be better suited for

the job? If I have an infestation of vermin, is the Border Collie the best mouser or do I want a small terrier? If I want a companion to carry around with me and sit on my lap, will the Border Collie be the best choice or will I want a Chihuahua? If I am hunting and want a dog to retrieve fowl from the water, can the Border Collie be the best dog to break the ice on a pond and bring back a large goose? When a fast dog is needed to catch a rabbit, is the Border Collie the best choice or would a Whippet be more suitable? The point is clear, every type of person is evolved to be successful in special circumstances and there is no point or value in trying to put yourself ahead of another for the other would not have been evolved if the need had not existed. The business of living on earth is difficult work. It is more difficult than the job you hold or the problems you face. You must appreciate each and every other for their own kind of beauty, for their own special qualities and not make the judgment that this one is more worthy than that one. This is pure ego and yes, it is very easy and very comfortable to sit down in that warm mud and say, “Well, this is how I am going to be.” But realize your forward movement, your choice of progression toward enlightenment is an everlasting desire. You can certainly choose to make this lifetime experience less than helpful or wander off on a path that will take you on a long hike but bring you back to same the same place eventually. But if what you want to do is move forward, then you must learn to see the beauty in every person. Their shape and formation is unique and when you do not take the lazy way and compare to some standard that you created in your mind, you will know what we are saying is correct. No one needs your permission. No one needs your blessing. Every one already exists as a full spirit, a full member of the universal family. Your challenge is to listen beyond what your human animal wants you to hear and to see beyond what your human animal wants you to see. In each you will realize that God is manifested and as you open your heart and open your mind and open your eyes, you will and can see this. And love when given will surround you and make your existence so much better. Love vibration is the best vibration, and from it you experience the wonders and the marvels that your earthly experience can allow you. Prejudice is fear in action, it is the killer of positive vibration, it is stagnation.

Show Up For Racial Justice By E O’Connolly

I am writing this in the hopes of agitating that people like me, that is, white queer people and white transgender people, will step up our anti-racism. We cannot take for granted much longer that our privileges might allow us to make it through life with our heads down and our mouths shut. Regularly when I’m in the Washington Gender Alliance support group I hear people talk about how they’re “not causing any trouble”, how they’re not like “those people” (whatever that means), and they “just want to live a normal life.” But there is a big difference between excusing ourselves from the work that needs to be done to improve the lot of all targeted people, and wanting some peace among the exhausting cycle of survival in a world that wants us dead. This election is a vindication. It proves once again the foundations and continuation of white supremacy that this nation was created from. It proves that the right-wing backlash against public accommodations was not a temporary phase of political posturing typical to an election season, but another part of the growing threat toward transgender people and even gender-nonconforming cisgender people. We should never normalize a Trump/Pence presidency. This is not a temporary state of fear, this is our lived reality. This terrifying reality, this “American Dream” that was really always a nightmare, will affect more and more of us until we get our shit together and actively engage with groups and movements. We no longer need to reach into history for inspiration or a sense of accomplishment, instead we have a valuable opportunity to create history right here and now that we can be proud of.

My own impatience is vindicated. Over 60 million people have rewarded this country’s racism and sexual violence by electing this government into office. If we trans and queer people are silent in the face of “alarmism” and in the face of this incoming government, then we are rewarding our enemies who hold no qualms with initiating the final solution for our displacement and eradication. I will not be a scapegoat, nor will I be a servant of white supremacy. I will instead be a co-conspirator with those who will most likely be hunted down first. The enemy is coming for us, and we all must say and do something before it is too late. Pick a side. We cannot be neutral on a moving train. We know the history. We know the extensive abuses like gaslighting happening on an expanded, nationalized level trying to convince us this isn’t so bad, isn’t happening, or that we as white people will be left alone. But we must admit to ourselves finally that this fascism is indeed the reality, and that we white LGBT people will not be exempt from what amounts to a government hit list that is already in the works. We have a stake in this, and it should be used to show up for racial justice.

The terms of this conflict should not be left in the hands of the enemy. We have given decades of compassion, education, and patience, and in return we will have a racist, transphobic, misogynistic government that wants to round up POC and Muslims à la Executive Order 9066 and force LGBT people into conversion camps. It is no longer possible for cisgender people to conveniently disregard my state of alarm by portraying hate as a rarity. Now, hate is the official status quo.

COMMUNITY CALL TO ACTION

More than ever, we need to show each other compassion. The youth we serve are incredibly vibrant, dynamic humans. Many of them have complex histories and each has a unique story. Many identify as LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or questioning). Many are people of color; some are immigrants. Many are living with disabilities, both visible and invisible. Many of these young people are feeling scared and unwelcome in our communities, and in our country right now. If you feel compelled, you can write a letter to a young person in your community to tell them how much they matter and how much our community cares for them. You can do this tangible thing to build a bridge, and to act from love. Tell them what you are feeling, and share your hopes for our future. This is how we must move forward; by investing in the lives of our young community members. By believing that they matter, and by showing it, we can begin to create change. Join us tomorrow, Friday, November 11th at the Northwest Youth Services office (located at 1020 N. State Street in Bellingham) to hand-write your letter. These letters will be given to youth NWYS serves. Stationery and solidarity provided. Prewritten unsealed letters may be dropped off this week, and any time in the future. You may also send your message via email to heatherm@nwys.org. Thank you for helping us show our young people that they matter, and that they are valued

Please keep in mind when using any edible the effect of the high tends to take a good 20 minutes or more. Consume accordingly, always err on the side of caution.

These treats are powerful when you substitute weed butter so if you make them consume with care.

In The Mix Bridget Adams

It’s Christmas, Hanukkah, Yule, and time for the secular visit from Santa my friends! Which also means, in spite of everything else that’s happening around us right now, there’s a special something in the air. A something that makes it easy to want to give, to take care of each other, to help the less fortunate. Now, if you aren’t giving, can’t give, or don’t want to, that’s your business and I truly do not judge (and not in that “I’m not judging” way that your aunt has which means she’s actually judging the shit out of you, but real and genuine not judging). However, if you’re looking to give, may I suggest making your holiday giving just a little different than it has been in the past. Consider… Planned Parenthood. 1530 Ellis Street, Bellingham, WA. https://www.plannedparenthood.org/health-center/washington/bellingham/98225/bellingham-healthcenter-2454-91780 Think they’re just for straight women? Think again. Right there on their site is the fact that they offer LGBT services and men’s health services. But at this point, let’s be honest – most of the straight women who access Planned Parenthood are as vulnerable as we are. Intersectionality is a thing, people. So the organization needs support, regardless. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). The closest branch is in Seattle, and you can find more information here: http://cairseattle.org/ For many people, this one is a little scary. We’ve been taught to be afraid. Getting past that fear is important, though. Not sure where to start? The landing page of CAIR Seattle (at the time of this writing, anyway) has an article titled How to Be an Ally and a Friend. You don’t have to be perfect. You do have to care.

Want to keep it a little more in the family, so to speak? Muslims for Progressive Values out of California is openly and directly allied with the LGBTQ community. You can find them here: http://www.mpvusa.org/ NW Immigration Rights Project. https://www.nwirp.org/ Their core values are dignity, fairness, solidarity, self-determination, safety, and inclusion. If we in the LGBTQ community don’t understand the absolutely vital necessity of these principles, then no one does. Don’t let the fear mongers teach you anything else. Here’s the thing, though – some people are over being political. Or aren’t at all. Or need a break. Or just want to make a kid smile on the holiday. You can do that, too. The Whatcom County Food Bank at 1824 Ellis Street is happy to take donations. Just stop by Monday through Friday. Also, if you’re over people but want to help animals, they accept pet food donations on behalf of the Humane Society. The Northwest Youth Services (http://www.nwys.org/always-needed-items/), Lydia’s Place (http://lydiaplace.org/support/), Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services (http://dvsas.org/get-involved/donate/) are three of the many organizations that need and take donations. If none of these work for you, call the local churches, temples, and senior centers. They will have options and resources for you. It may seem very dark right now. It may stay very dark for a while. But the holidays are a time we can push back against the dark, bring in a little light. And trust me when I tell you that the people in need aren’t the only ones who will feel better if you give. Whatever you celebrate, may it be joyous and blessed. And until next month – next year – take care of you.

Having received a communication that the University of Wisconsin was seeking participants in its annual Film and History Conference, to be held this last October, I applied and was accepted. The theme this year, GODS AND HERETICS: FIGURES OF POWER, inclusive of ‘Classical Antiquity,’ ‘Worshiping the Monstrous,’ ‘Transgressive Filmmakers,’ ‘Transgressive Women,’ ‘Patriots and Traitors,’ ‘Subversive Masculinities,’ ‘Media Ecology Association,’ ‘Jewish Faith and Doubt on Screen,’ ‘Rebels and Revolutionaries,’ ‘Food of the Gods,’ ‘Divine Recognition,’ ‘The Fantastic,’ ‘The Power of Love,’ ‘Historical Perspectives,’ ‘Exhibition,’ ‘Gods of War,’ ‘Film and the Arts,’ ‘TV Network Execs, Producers, and Performers,’ and the one my paper was presented in, ‘Queer Saints and Sinners.’ Each area was in turn subdivided into panels of two or three speakers. I’ll mention here only those panels in the ‘Queer Saints and Sinners’ category: ‘Popular Culture and Queer Representation,’ ‘Queer Feminisms,’ ‘Queer Tropes and Themes,’ ‘Conservative Heresies, Godly Queerness, ‘Challenging Hegemonic Narratives: Visual Policies of Difference’ and my category, ‘Queer Global Cinema.’ My paper was named “Indian Queer Cinema: Not Many Sinners,” of course, because at the present time almost all queer characters in Indian film (except in commercial cinema in the Tamil language) are, in an attempt, overtly or subversively, to overturn the infamous Indian Section 377 outlawing “unnatural sex,” i.e. anything but vaginal sex. My paper was aided considerably by our excellent Area Coordinator, Bridget Kies, having arranged for another speaker on Indian cinema, Hrishikesh Arvikar, of India’s Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) to precede me. Hrishikesh’s topic was “Queering the Saint: Gender, Stardom, and Desire in Devotions of Prabhat Studio.” This was perfect for me, as the great Indian filmmaker Satyajit Ray had once told me that the proper study of Indian cinema should not start with its first silent films, but with the early sound films of Prabhat Studio, in Pune. Those early saint films had featured at least two former stage female impersonators, who were so popular that they had set the fashions for Indian women of the time. Now in roles of male saints, Sant Eknath and Sant Tukaram, their androgyny remained intact. It was necessary for me to thank Hrishikesh, Bridget and Carla Bernava, of the University of Sao Paulo, Bridget’s co-host, for this lead-in to my short history of the passive male image and queerdom in Indian cinema to the present time. Not only that, Hrishikesh’s paper was on films in the Marathi anguage and thus I was able to bypass Bollywood cinema almost altogether in favor of India’s myriad regional cinemas, at least Marathi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. I ended by describing a short film shown at the VIBGOYR (an anagram for all the colors in the rainbow) Film Festival in Thrissur, a small city in South India, Manu, Shivani and Thejus’ TEAPOY, in which a guitar teacher attempts to seduce his male student. The student resists and quits the teacher. This was particularly appropriate at VIBGYOR, a festival each year dedicated to a different social or environmental cause and, on its tenth anniversary returning to its original mandate of cultural diversity. TEAPOY had been balanced at that festival by Akil Sathyan’s THAT’S MY BOY, a documentary on a female-to-male transsexual and by Sopan Muller’s MY CHILD IS GAY AND I AM HAPPY, a series of interviews with parents of LGBT youth. These two presentations on India were followed by independent scholar Maya Florence Adelman Cabral’s study of a queer Cuba film, “VESTIDO DE NOVIA [THE WEDDING DRESS]: Saintly Queer Identity in Contemporary Cuban Cinema.” Not that there were no other presentations on Indian cinema: in the area ‘Worshiping the Monstrous,’ Narin Islam of JNU presented by Skype “The ICCHADHARI NAGIN [THE SNAKE WHO TAKES A HUMAN FORM] in Hindi Cinema and the Politics of its Corporeality on Screen;” in ‘Studio System’ Salma Siddique of Freie University in Germany presented “Studio SETH of Lahore and the Indian Partition” and in ‘Media Ecology’ Apurva Shah of the Antarnad Foundation presented “DilSe [sic, Fom the Heart]: Love, Fantasy and Negotiation in Hindi Film Songs,” including the most erotic clip ever from a Hindi song sequence, the actress Mandakani bathing near a waterfall, her arms out stretched, her large nipples clearly visible under her thin muslin covering in Raj Kapoor’s RAM TERE GANGA MAILI HAI (GOD RAM, YOUR GANGES IS DIRTY) while Lata Mangeshkar sings “I Want to Embrace You.” There were other papers in other subdivisions of ‘Queer Sinners and Saints,’ for instance independent scholar Gabriel Dor’s “The Flaming Jazz Singer: Queering Canonical Blackface and Gendered Jewface in Cinema’s Transition to Synchronized Sound,” David Stephans of

Bowling Green State University’s “A Family of One’s Own: Reconstructing Queer Families of Color in Film,” Bridget’s own “Straight Saviors and Guardian Angels: Glamorizing LGBT History in Recent Film and Television” and Carla’s “Popular Culture, Queerness and Transnational Queer Representation.” (I’m not listing the papers on television.) With seven panels running simultaneously, in five shifts a day, for three days (that’s 175 panels or approximately 437 speakers) it was impossible to concentrate only on the queer ones. Particularly because several speakers in other areas intersected with the queer one: in ‘Classical Antiquity’ from Bar-Ilan University in Israel Lisa Maurice’s “God(s) Made Flesh: The Physical Appearance of the Male Divinity on Screen,” from Trinity College Vincent Tomasso’s “The Representation of Greek Gods in the Peplum Genre” (alongside Steve Reeves’ Hercules the Gods do not actually appear, as the emphasis is on Reeves’ demigod corporality); in ‘Adaptations and Remakes,’ from the Savannah College of Art and Design Chad Newsom’s “Jane Wyman and the Loneliest Look in the World” (she made two films with Rock Hudson); in ‘Stardom’ from Indiana University Ashleigh Curp’s “’Are you ready to be worshiped?’ The Men Women Desire in MAGIC MIKE XXL,” in ‘Manifest Destiny and the Godless Frontier’ from Indiana University Katherine Johnson’s “Calamity Jane: Trespassing the American Western,” and especially in ‘Independent Film and Media’ from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Chelsea McCracken’s “Seeking Out Audiences: Fine Line Features and the Profit Potential of LGBT Films.” Several other papers in “Classical Antiquity” discussed films of Arnold Schwarzenegger (HERCULES IN NEW YORK), Steve Reeves (HERCULES) and Vanna White (GODDESS OF LOVE). Friday, after all the day’s panels, two days before Halloween, a group of us from the ‘Queer Saints and Sinners” area dined out and most then headed for a lesbian bar, Walker’s Pint, where each of us was handed a witch’s hat. I spent much time with Carla and Hrishikesh, but returned to the Hilton Hotel when I realized they wanted to commiserate over their respective disastrous governments, in Brazil and New Delhi. (Besides, they wanted to smoke cigarettes. I never smoke tobacco.) Little did I realize that in less than two weeks the U.S. government would also face a disaster. Two days later, on Halloween itself, I flew back to India. You can imagine that I was full of stories of gods, heretics, Milwaukee, film and history. I felt as if I had finally caught the brass ring. Until two days before my 79th birthday, November 8, 2016.

Astrology By Matt Keller

Pluto: December 2nd The Moon and distant dwarf Pluto motivate metamorphosis and trigger changes needed for personal growth. Aries and Libra will be fighting these transitions, especially if your birthday is April 5th or October 9th. Taurus and Virgo are experiencing their changes through positive events, and birthdays of May 5th or September 8th can anticipate good fortune. If your birthday is January 6th or July 7th. Something is reaching a culminating point and today might be the day you figure it out. Lucky numbers: 10,16,29,24,17,20,9,7

Mars: December 5th Aggressions run high each time the Moon and Mars align. This guy creates not only hostility, but also drives us to do something productive. Aquarians feel these energies the most, and if your birthday is February 8th expect some action. Difficulties are in store for Taurus and Scorpio. Rash behavior will cause injuries for those born on May 8th or November 11th. Air signs Libra and Gemini might actually show some responsibility. Anyone born June 9th or October 12th will finally finish something. Lucky numbers: 13,19,3,27,17,18,20,9,16,7

Uranus: December 9th Uranus is the misunderstood genius who invents the light bulb while trying to discover gunpowder. Brilliant inspirations come from the strangest of places and even dumb people are occasionally smart. Maintain a keen mind your if you’re an Aries or Libra. Birthdays of April 9th and October 13th have a wonderful idea in store. Fire signs Leo and Sagittarius also possess creative ingenuity today. August 12th or December 11th are the duo of birthdays latching their brains onto something. Massive headaches are in predicted for Cancer and Capricorn. If your birthday is July 12th or January 10th consider staying close to home. Lucky numbers: 18,20,8,2,22,9,16,7 Jupiter: December 22nd Gentle Jupiter is known for benevolence, and his optimism is matched by none other. Your spirit may call you towards something new and exciting which is meant to expand the horizons outside your box. If your birthday is April 9th or October 13th try getting along with someone you usually don’t. Education will be important for air signs Gemini and Aquarius, and individuals born June 10th or February 9th should pick up a book or magazine with more words than pictures. Circumstances may prove confusing for Cancer and Capricorn. January 10th and July 12th birthdays need to wait things out until their minds can straighten up. Lucky numbers: 1,20,14,17,2,9,16,5

Saturn: December 27th Life is a cycle of ups and downs, and unfortunately the monthly Saturn transit is one of the downs. A few lucky people will pull themselves from the depths of adversity, and all Sagittarius birthdays, especially December 11th, will be feeling some inspiration. Solstice darkness always increases your depression, and solitude will be needed for Pisces and Virgo. If your birthday is September 12th or March 10th remember too much isolation is worse than not enough. Family issues are always the focus for Cancer and there may need to be some restructuring if you’re born on July 10th. Lucky numbers: 6,20,8,22,6,9,16,5 Mercury December 28th The childlike qualities of Mercury are brought out each time he aligns with the Moon. Many times people resort to behavior best displayed in middle school or act like bumbling babies. Quite often you become emotional towards situations you normally wouldn’t care about and respond inappropriately. Capricorns are strenuously accepting their feelings and those with December 27th as their birthday might just break down and cry, while Pisces and Scorpio are shedding tears of happiness. Emotions have been brewing for individuals born on February 25th or October 29th and today may be the culminating point. Earth signs Taurus and Virgo should be well grounded, although those born April 25th or August 29th may be neurotically set in their ways. Lucky numbers: 7,6,24,7,20,21,9,16,4 Monthly overview The Solstice week of December 18th-24th is the darkest of the year, and the fabled struggle between the Oak and Holly kings will reach its climax. Our days start getting longer and the New Year is right around the corner. Rising around 7:00, Orion with his faithful dogs Canis major and minor are easily spotted along with Leo tailing shortly behind. The Gemini twins drape their legs over his head, and clear nights will provide a phenomenal skyscape. On the 22nd at 3:00 am the Moon aligns with not only Jupiter, but the magnificent blue star Spica, the brightest in the Virgo constellation. The full Moon on the 13th won’t be as spectacular as November’s, and it makes the Geminid meteor shower very difficult to see. This yearly cosmic downpour takes place between the 4th and 17th, peaking on the 13th, just in time for the Moon to screw it up. With possibly over 100 meteors an hour you can still see some, just wait until the wee hours of the morning once the Moon has had a chance to set a little.

Venus: December 3rd Some say love is the greatest emotion of all, and nothing makes you feel butterflies like when the Moon and Venus align. Their cosmic complexion nurtures unconditionally and is always tumbling into emotions. Capricorn and Cancer may see domestic circumstances take a decline, and if you’re born July 17th or January 15th expect a family fight. Issues for Taurus and Virgo are in the healing process, and squabbles should be ending for those born on May 14th or September 17th. Aries and Libra also face household difficulties. Birthdays of April 15th and October 18th can expect the trouble. Lucky numbers: 11,25,0,18,17,10,9,16,7

Neptune: December 6th Neptune makes you quite delusional, like last month when I stated the Pisces born March 29th when I meant February 29th. Junk like that is typical Neptunian confusion, and you only see it when you look for the subtleties. Sometimes, it’s like trying to make Kool-Aid and not knowing how to fit two quarts of water into the tiny little package. Because reality so disorienting artistic inspirations are what function best, and this monthly perturbation has been affecting those born around March 1st for a while. Birthdays of April 28th, June, November or December 29th, September 30th, along with August or October 31st are also receptive to Neptune today. Lucky numbers: 15,9,5,29,20,17,18,9,16,7
