Overview of a Microdermabrasion Treatment Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive procedure that uses a diamond-tipped wand or a stream of microcrystals to exfoliate the outer layer of the skin. It can effectively treat acne by unclogging pores and removing dead skin cells. Here are the general steps for performing microdermabrasion for acne-prone skin: Cleanse the skin: Begin by thoroughly cleansing the skin with a gentle, non-comedogenic cleanser to remove dirt, oil, and makeup. Prep the skin: Dry the skin and apply a toner to help balance the pH levels and remove any remaining impurities. Prepare the microdermabrasion machine: Follow the manufacturer's instructions to prepare the machine, including setting the intensity and selecting the appropriate tip or wand.
