“Fellow members,
As I write this column we would’ve hosted a successful Centenary Cocktail Reception and Unveiling of the Centenary Plaque under the distinguished patronage of Her Excellency The Most Honourable Dame Sandra Mason, FB, GCMG, DA, SC, LLD, President of Barbados.
While the turnout was not as large as we would’ve planned for, reports to me from the persons who attended was that it was well organized, the food was great, and the service of the staff was excellent.
I wish to thank all members who supported the event. There were some members who advised that they could not attend because of conflicting engagements, or they are travelling, but they supported the event by purchasing tickets.
We are now preparing for the Beach Fun Day and Boat Raft up on Saturday August 31st. A lot of planning and preparation has gone into this event, and it is our intention to make this day as much fun as possible. It has been designed to allow for persons to come at whatever time suits their schedule and still be part of the activities.
Members and their guests can stay from the beginning until the end or pop in and leave as required to suit their other commitments. I am encouraging all members to come out and support your Club in these celebrations. Many organisations cannot boast of being “alive and active” for 100 years. Our Club has reached this milestone and as members we should be proud of this fact.
As summer is rapidly coming to an end I hope that the children had an enjoyable summer vacation and wish them a successful 2024-2025 academic year.
As we are now approaching what is considered the peak of the hurricane season, please continue to monitor the weather reports and be always storm/hurricane prepared. Those members with yachts and boats should also check these vessels to ensure that they are not holding stagnant water, and, if there is water in the bilge, bail it so as to ensure that we are not assisting the mosquito population in its attempts to grow.
Thanks for your assistance and support.
Peter
“Fellow members,
We are delighted to share that the Centenary Cocktail Reception and the unveiling of the Centenary Plaque was a resounding success! Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making this event memorable.
As we continue with our Centenary Celebrations, we are excited to announce the upcoming Beach Barbeque and Raft-Up Event this Saturday, August 31st, 2024. We hope you will join us for a day of fun in the sun, great food, and wonderful company. Please find the flyer attached for more details.
Please note that maintenance work is being carried out on tennis courts 3 & 4. These courts will be closed for the next two weeks as we make necessary improvements.
Additionally, work on the Shot Hall Kitchen roof is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 2, 2024. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we undertake these essential updates. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events!
