Your Management Committee has formed a new Sub-committee called the HR & Member Services Sub-committee.
This Sub-committee comprises of:

We have already had our first meeting, the discussions were positive and the members are eager to get the committee up and functional.
The Sub-committee’s Terms of Reference and Scope are being worked on for approval by the Management Committee in the coming weeks, but you can rest assured that we will be looking at ways to improve communication between you, the members, and your Management Committee.
More information on this Sub-committee’s work will be forthcoming in future correspondence.

Let me begin by thanking everyone who came out to support our first Centenary event, the tribute to The Merrymen Dinner, Concert and After Party. It was a historic night and a fantastic celebration of a legendary band and their long-established friendship with the club.
Our next event will be the Centenary lecture and luncheon Sir Henry Fraser will be the keynote speaker and will present on the history of The Barbados Yacht Club on Friday, April 12 commencing at 11 a.m. The buffet luncheon will follow at noon.
The book traces the Club's history and its development over the years from its inception in August 1924 The Centenary book committee consisting of Sir Henry Fraser, Anne Tindale, Andrew Hutchinson, Peter Marshall, Peter Burke, and Charles “Reds” Packer have lovingly contributed to this edition The Centenary book will cost $75 to members and $100 to nonmembers and will be on sale in the Club house from 10 a.m. on the morning of the lecture luncheon.
Members can enjoy a special early bird price of $50 by pre-booking through the office before April 12th
In celebration of our 100th Anniversary, we commissioned Mount Gay to bottle their XO in our branded and collectible 750ml bottles. This Limited Edition Rum will go on sale in the Club house from 10 a.m. on April 12th and will cost $100 to members and $125 to non-members.
Our BYC Rum Punch will also be bottled and branded to celebrate our Centenary. The Rum Punch will be available in two sizes, 1 litre and 1.75 litre, and will be priced at $50 and $80 respectively
The Centenary Rum Punch will also be on sale on April 12th in the Club house.

The results of the Stansfeld Scott Regatta, sailed on Sunday, 25th February, are as follows:
1st - Bunga Bunga, skippered by Charlie Gloumeau
2nd - A-Salt Weapon, skippered by Jason Tindale
3rd - Glory Daze, skippered by Gus Reader
Special mention must be made of Undercover, skippered by 15-year-old Amabel Chase and crewed by a team of our junior sailors, who mounted a very creditable challenge to our much more experienced skippers and crews.
Following a resounding 63-25 opening victory against Ocean View at the Hilton courts on February 24th, the BYC Tennis Team continued their winning ways, defeating Summerhayes 61-35 at home on Saturday 9th March
BYC, runners-up in the 2023 competition currently top the standings leading Paragon by 22 points Defending champions, Tennis Centre, are currently 3 points further adrift in third. Six teams are participating in this year’s competition which runs until April 20th.
