ABOUT THE CAST

*Denotes first appearance with Theatre Arts Guild [TAG] “Georgia State University | Perimeter College” is abbreviated GSU|PC

Monterio Caldwell (Doctor Stockman) he/him was born in an Atlanta, Ga. His previous theatre work includes principal roles in The Crucible, The Harlem Renaissance, and The Real Inspector Hound. He now credits An Enemy of the People as one of his highlights thus far. His previous film work includes principal roles in All That Glitters, dir. Noah Meister and The Prayer, dir. Dennis LA White. He will continue to balance work in both theatre and film as his career progresses.

Taye Cheatham (Simon Brown) he/him is a student and theatre major at GSU|PC in his senior year. Taye is originally from California where he started his theatre path. His most recent TAG credits are Musidorus in Head Over Heels and light board operator for Silent Sky. He also has a background in a capella assembly. Taye would like to thank his theatre instructors throughout his acting journey.

Marcus Lewis (Morton) they/them is a theatre major at GSU|PC. The arts, and in particular, theatre, can be described as a garden where the plants can change but the beauty never does. Marcus’ love for theatre only grows the more they learn and perform. They would like to thank their parents, Kadynce and Cory for their never ending love and support of dreams. Marcus also wants to thank the faculty of the GSU|PC theatre department for the kindness and the opportunities they present.

Jael Lyons (Captain Forrester/Peter Stockman u/s) he/ him is a GSU|PC alum. He made his TAG debut in The Minotaur as The Lawyer. He has experience in voiceover work ranging from audio dramas to video games such as Tyrese Roland (Chronicles of Eden), Dick (Ventures of Dick and Billy), and Earl (Saloon Simulator). He thanks his dad and family for supporting him and is grateful for the friends he's made along this journey.

Mark A. Marston (Peter Stockman) he/him is a graduate of GSU|PC with an A.A. in Theatre. He continues to hone his craft, working in film and theater. Mark is honored to be on the Jennifer Jenkins stage again with such a talented director, crew, and cast. He is forever grateful for the love and support of his family and friends. *Grace Mitchell (Petra) she/her is delighted to make her TAG debut as a guest artist in this production of An Enemy of the People! She is a SCAD alumna with a degree in performing arts and a minor in fashion design. Her previous work includes playing Ismene in SCAD’s production of Antigone and appearances in many short films. When she is not acting, Grace enjoys writing, singing, and drawing. She wants to thank her friends and family for always supporting her passions.

*Lauryn Packer (Annie/Isla Laken & Petra Stockmann u/s) she/they is currently studying theatre at GSU|PC, focusing on acting, play analysis, and stagecraft. They’ve been passionate about performing since they were young, and have since participated in theatre workshops to develop their skills. After graduation, Lauryn hopes to pursue a career in acting and continue growing as an artist. She is incredibly grateful to her family and teachers for their constant support and inspiration along

Austin Richardson (Howard ) he/him graduated from GSU and is an actor and musician. He made his TAG debut in The Minotaur. He’s also appeared in Rumors, David and Lisa, and It’s a Wonderful Life. Austin would like to thank everybody who supports him!

*Alex Spira-Savett (Nathan/Morton Keele and Howard u/s) he/him is a theatre major at GSU|PC. His previous credits include Grimsby in The Little Mermaid Jr, Francis Flute in A Midsummer Night’ s Dream, and Eugene in Grease. He also has crew and technical experience. Alex has had a passion for theatre since his elementary school debut. He would like to thank his parents, sisters, grandparents, extended family, and the remarkable cast and production team of An Enemy of the People.

Hikari Viator (Mrs. Stockmann) she/her is a GSU|PC student majoring in theatre. She made her TAG debut as Mrs. Drudge in The Real Inspector Hound (2024). She is proudly biracial, with a Japanese mother and American father. Fluent in Japanese, she hopes to one day become an internationally successful actor. Her hobbies include singing, playing piano, and cosplaying . Hikari would like to thank her family for supporting her. (IG @youngsushicosplay)

*Sophia Wells (Miss Isla Laken) they/them is in the theatre pathway at GSU|PC, and has been pursuing theatre since they were young and have been involved in community theatre productions at Momentum Arts in Snellville since 2021. Sophia has experience mostly in musical theatre, and their favorite shows to work on are always “new works projects.” They hope to go on to receive a BFA in acting after earning an associate's degree. This is Sophia’s TAG debut, and they are thrilled to be a part of this show!

Sulaiman Rahman As-Salaam (Lighting Design) they/them graduated from Columbus State University in 2021 after completing a BFA in Theatre Design/Technology. They also studied design in 2018 at the Seattle Rep Theatre. Sulaiman returned to Atlanta in 2022. Having spent the past year and a half designing across the Atlanta and Columbus, Georgia area, they are happy to return to the GSU|PC Stage.

J. Ashley Butler (Graphic Artist) she/her is a theatre artist serving on the faculty of Auburn University’s Department of Theatre and Dance and formerly on the faculty at Georgia State’s Perimeter College. Throughout her career she has worked as an educator, performer (actor/dancer/singer), director, dramaturg, and choreographer. Ashley is also a creative director and graphic designer specializing in performing arts marketing. She holds an MFA from Ohio University and a BFA from Auburn University, both in acting.

Lindsay M. Bytof (Director / Adapter) she/her has been a Lecturer at GSU|PC since 2017 and she holds a M.F.A. in Acting from Florida State University/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training as well as a M.A. in Applied Theatre from University of London, Goldsmiths College. Previous directing credits with TAG include: Much Ado About Nothing, Eurydice, Triumph of Love, Jury of Her Peers and The Minotaur. Thanks to Phil for all he does. (IG @FearlessPhoenix)

Dyanna Cosby (Deck Crew) she/her is a sophomore theatre major at GSU|PC. She is training to become a professional actor/artist. This is the 5th production Dyanna has been a part of at TAG, and she is planning to graduate in the spring of 2025. Dyanna is grateful for every opportunity she has been given and is excited to see where she goes from here. She would like to thank her family for their love and support and everyone here at Theatre Arts Guild for making this possible.

Karl Dickey (Set Designer) he/him is a scenic design and technical direction graduate student at the University of South Carolina. Karl is excited to be back in Atlanta, where he received his BA from Oglethorpe University. He has built, painted, and designed for Georgia Ensemble Theatre, Theatrical Outfit, Synchronicity Theatre, Theatre Burford, Aurora Theatre, Serenbe playhouse and numerous independent projects in Georgia, South Carolina, and Arizona.

Aaron Gotlieb (Prop Designer) he/him returned to Atlanta a 'Complete Fool' after completing his MFA in Physical and Devised Theatre at Accademia dell'Arte in Arezzo, Italy. In addition to creating, directing, and performing in his own work, he has been performing and building props at theatres across Atlanta and the Southeast for over a decade. Currently, he is the Technical Theatre Specialist at GSU|PC.

Jillian Haughey (Sound Designer) she/her is a GSU|PC alumna. She is thankful to have had such wonderful mentors from her time here. Jillian's sound designs with TAG include Much Ado About Nothing, The Minotaur, Mr. Burns, a post-electric play, & prop design for SGGTC and Two Acts of Murder. Her prop designs have been seen at Aurora Theatre, Serenbe Playhouse, Synchronicity Theatre, and Theatrical Outfit's Summer Stage. She would like to thank her family for their love and support.

Kiya Hauser (Associate Stage Manager) she/her is an engineering student at GSU|PC. She made her TAG debut as Margaret Leavitt in Silent Sky (2024), and most recently appeared on stage as Nurse Ruth Kelly in Harvey (2024) with Main Street Theatre. While Kiya is no stranger to the stage, she is beyond excited to take on the stage manager role for the first time. She thanks her loved ones for their support and TAG for this wonderful opportunity to expand her theatre experience.

James Hennessey (Technical Director) he/him has been with the Fine Arts department for five years. After graduating with a B.A. in theatre from Winthrop University, he moved to Atlanta to begin his technical theatre career, where he worked as a general technician with a focus in carpentry, rigging, run-crew, and technical direction before finding his current home at GSU|PC.

Nancye Hilley (Costume Designer) she/her is a GSU|PC alumna and has been costuming since the mid 1980’s. Her designs have been seen at the Georgia Shakespeare Festival, Theatrical Outfit, Horizon Theatre, Essential Theatre, and more. With TAG, Nancye has designed many shows including Intimate Apparel, Nunsense, The Secret Garden, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and many more. Awards include the 2015 and 2017 MAT award for Best Costumes.

*Cassandra Hollis (Costume Crew) she/her is a working actor and theatre major at GSU|PC. She attended the Yale University Conservatory for Actors summer program. She appeared in a recurring role as Medical Examiner, on the first season of TV One’s true crime series, ATL Homicide, and in the vertical short form series, Falling for My Divorce Lawyer. She has had lead and supporting roles in theatre productions, independent films, and commercials. Cassandra is also director of the dance ministry at her church and dances professionally.

Lavendar McGinnis (Stage Manager) she/her is a theatre major at GSU|PC. She made her TAG debut as a Watchman in Much Ado About Nothing (2017). She appeared as Buddy in The Diviners (2018) with Main Street Players in Griffin, GA and Lewis in Pippin (2018) at Bard College. Lavendar reignited her passion for theater last fall on this stage as Frankie/Scarbunny in “Sillytime Square” (2024) and is delighted to take on this new challenge of Stage Manager.

*Vanessa Morgan (Sound Board Operator) she/her is a GSU|PC student and theatre major. Her dream is to be a playwright. Through the arts, she wants to tell meaningful stories to encourage, inspire, and entertain. This is her first opportunity to work backstage in a production and is excited and eager to learn skills to help her move forward in her theatre career.

Sally J. Robertson (Artistic Director) she/her has been working in educational and professional theatre for over 30 years as an actor, director, sound designer, and producer. Sally is Professor of Theatre and Chair of the Fine Arts Department at Perimeter College.

Sophia Nino Ticozzi (House Manager) she/her is a dedicated theatre major at Georgia State University where she immerses herself in the art of performance and production. With a passion for dance, makeup, acting, and tech production, Sophia thrives in the dynamic world of theatre. She extends her heartfelt gratitude to her professors for their unwavering support and guidance, helping her grow as an artist and individual.

*Ranier Truesdale (Crew Chief) he/they is a freshman at GSU|PC. They have been a carpenter about town for the past three years and are now working as a student assistant here at our very own Marvin Cole Auditorium!

Sunny Vidrine (Production Manager) she/her has been producing and participating in theatre for over 25 years. She holds a BA in theatre and an MEd in secondary English education, both from UGA. As a professional theatre technician, she worked in the costume department of several Broadway shows and touring companies. She is also a former theatre educator and is a current board member for the Georgia chapter of the International Thespian Society. She would like to thank her family for always supporting and believing in her, especially Daniel and Harrison.

Scenic Scavenger Hunt

Henrik Ibsen (March 20, 1828 – May 23, 1906) was a major 19th-century Norwegian playwright, theatre director, and poet. He is often referred to as “the father of prose drama” and is one of the founders of Modernism in the theatre. His major works include Brand, Peer Gynt, An Enemy of the People, Emperor and Galilean, A Doll’s House, Hedda Gabler, Ghosts, The Wild Duck, Rosmersholm, and The Master Builder.

Theatre Arts Guild is dedicated to enhancing the educational development of the Perimeter College, Georgia State University student through theatrical productions which demonstrate an understanding of the importance of the arts in the human experience. To achieve these goals, Theatre Arts Guild produces a wide range of theatrical genres from classical to contemporary theatre and provides opportunities to experience a theatrical environment of professional standards involving the Atlanta Theatre Community.

For nearly 60 years, the Department of Fine Arts at the Clarkston campus of GSU has a history of offering an Associate of Arts Degree in Theatre, with classes in acting, directing, technical theatre and dance.
