WELCOME Welcome to our summer 2017 season which sees Theatr Brycheiniog celebrate our 20th Anniversary. To mark this celebration, we will be focusing on improving facilities for our visitors and performers. The first stage of this will commence early in the season as we refurbish the Waterfront Bistro in preparation for opening in mid-summer. The Waterfront Bistro will, for the first time, be run by the Theatre, meaning that you can come and enjoy amazing food and drink at the beautiful canal-side location with all proceeds from the Bistro directly supporting the artistic work we do. The first floor Waterfront Bar is now open from 10.00am each day, seven days a week, serving homemade light snacks and beverages; it’s a great place to meet friends or family. We also have free live music in the bar every Saturday for you to enjoy with Live @ The Waterfront, making a great addition to the day. This season has a great variety of performances from artists across the globe, including a special Gala performance featuring members of the Zulu Royal Family in King Cetshwayo: The Musical, as we continue to provide our audiences with the best in high quality entertainment. And don’t forget our monthly comedy nights which are proving to be hugely popular, so booking early is recommended.

Over the coming months we will also be welcoming some new faces to our team. The first to join us is Lewis Gwyther, our new Head of Fundraising & Communications. Lewis joins us from Sherman Theatre, in Cardiff, and will be helping to raise the profile of all that we do and generate new funding for the theatre. The end of April saw us celebrate the first year of our Friends & Patrons scheme. I would like to thank all of you that have joined and hope that you will renew for another year. Punch Maughan, our Volunteer Co-ordinator, has worked hard to develop the scheme, offering excellent social events, discounted car parking and many other great benefits. If you haven’t joined yet and would like to know more about it please contact Punch at friends@brycheiniog.co.uk. We continue to look at new ways of diversifying our funding and we need your help to make sure that Theatr Brycheiniog can carry on for another 20 years, providing opportunities for future generations to participate in and experience the arts. Theatr Brycheiniog is here for everyone and with your support we will make sure that young people in particular have the same opportunities in the future that we have all enjoyed for the last 20 years. For ways you can support please visit brycheiniog.co.uk/support-us. We have some fabulous shows, classes and activities and great food and drink, there is plenty in store for the summer and I look forward to seeing you over the sunny summer months.
