The living area aesthetic is due to its bare minimal theme and enchanting voids within the furniture pieces. The bespoke customised metal shelf accompanied by a wooden trunk is part of the design to inculcate the souvenirs around the world.

The grey tones diffusing all over the space with the natural hues of wood play a key role in maintaining the harmony of the space. The dining area includes similar tones with a clutter-free layout and clean finishes.

The aim was to achieve materiality with a minimalistic approach. Wood is a versatile material irrespective of its shade and pattern which helps to transform a piece into timeless, classic art.

This space is a depiction of a modern, functional warm space with minimum furniture pieces. Home is where the edge of the world resides, keeping the warmth of home in mind.

The principal designer of Muse Architects decided to keep the neutral colour palette and materials as the core design goal.

The master bedroom has also imbibed a similar theme with meticulous details of furniture.

The mirror here works as a piece of aesthetic that breaks the geometrical barriers and the flow of defined lines in the space.

The other bedroom is designed to keep the future perspective and changes in the family pattern in upcoming years. The play of white and blue is rooted in a color palette as a future kids room.

Similar to the other room the arched shape shelf breaks the rigid geometrical play depicting the fluxional nature of the kid.

The guest room has a biophilic enchanting theme to keep the warmth of the natural environment that surrounds the home..

A round window in the living room pulls in nature’s beauty into the house. Hesed encompasses the modern fabrications and furnishings needed to maintain a contemporary lifestyle, at the same time keeping in frame the traditional stance in which the family grew up.

The house is divided into two levels, a double height living room is designed along with a semi open courtyard With an uneven contour, it was a challenge to develop the site without making any major changes to the topography and nature.

Built upon 1213.8 sqm of verdant terrain, this house was placed over an existing plateau in the highest point of the lot, to make best of the views over the hills.

Hanging plants suspend a green curtain over the front entrance of the house and protect the main entrance from heat and dust.

The vision originated from the owner’s wish to embrace the natural terrain and at the same time offer modern comforts to his joint family. The client’s family consists of 8 members. So, the design was focused on providing enough space for all purposes.

The dining area given for a feel of openness and for augmenting natural cross ventilation on all sides.

Conforming to the natural contours of the terrain, the outside landscaping provides a cool siesta area around a lotus pond. Hesed also promotes a sustainable lifestyle with a dedicated 5KW hybrid solar system, biogas from kitchen waste, cultivation of vegetables and fruits on-site and the reuse of harvested rainwater for sanitary and irrigation using a 30,000-litre capacity of underground tank.

The kids room has a built-in bunk bed with cabinets to utilize storage spaces.

Leading off from the first-floor bedroom is the balcony ensuring a panoramic view beyond the misty hills.

The lower level has three bedrooms, office, living and dining; and the first level has two bedrooms and a reading space. A steel-wood combo staircase and simple wireframe furniture is selected to maintain a sense of lightness.

Natural brick cladding provided on the exterior wall prevents direct sunlight on the wall and thus minimizes heat transfer inside the house. The red brickwork also contrasts with nature’s greenery and gives a rustic living vibe.

A sloped roof on top of the concrete slab with louvers in the front and back was constructed for heat reduction. The louvers exhale out the hot air through the air passages.

Natural stones from ‘Kota’ and ‘Kadapa’ have been used in the flooring to provide cooling and slip resistance.

The terracotta lattice in the living and dining rooms aid in good cross ventilation, making use of nature’s air, which is so essential in the warm humid tropical context in which the house is located

From creating a new interior design language for the old space, to arousing a cheerful ambience – the design intent worked on several layers to make the resto-bar a vibrant public place for the city. In line with the current trend of health food and probiotic beverages, the Brewery offers a selection of special home-brewed kombucha.

In fact, a plethora of the industrial building’s original fermenters and exposed distillation equipment are preserved and used as brewing tanks to churn out fresh, bubbly kombucha – taking the design intervention one step further into the menu itself.

The design approach taken by The Crossboundaries was to begin a conversation between the old and the new; while respecting the building’s original skeleton and structure, but infusing a new soul through valueadded activities.

space full of lustre and laughter…These are vignettes from The Crossboundaries’ fresh offering ‘The Brewery’.

The story of The Brewery, a delectable new restobar in Vadodara, is one of a classic building reincarnating into a second life. The Brewery is located in the reinvented city-centre of Alembic Art District, in the company of a museum, art-galleries and public spaces which have readapted the city’s industrial heritage.

The bar counter is a spectacular Modernistt statement piece in itself, designed with fine onyx, lit up from within – reminiscent of Jazz bars in New York. In this vein, metal casks and other brewing equipment are exposed behind the bar, from which fresh kombucha is filled on tap.

The kitchen area, with a pizza dome is visible behind a clear glass partition.

Services such as a/c ducting and pipelines are exposed but painted in matt-black, keeping the industrial look and feel intact.

On this wall, a trio of arches with full-scale mirrors creates the illusion of

depth, reflecting not just the open bar, but also good times, infinitely! The thick blue walls stand tall and proud, the roof almost floats in sunlight, arches dance and open the way to the outside – while inside, textures and flavors, nostalgia and memories keep the conversations brewing

The mezzanine with metal railing is a playful addition, from which live music and events can be viewed in the comfort of plush couches and portable seating. Furthermore, in signature The Crossboundaries style, lighting and lamps become pieces of art in themselves, whether as a customdesigned three-ringed chandelier or ball & chain ‘globe’ lights.

A careful coordination of hanging yellow lights, vintage lampshades and circular arched openings evokes memories of Art Deco bars of the last century, rekindling the building’s old soul
