Stephen Jennings Initially attending Photography Studies College Stephen went on to gain a BA (photography) from RMIT University. After working from various Melbourne studios as an illustrative photographer for over 20 years he now resides in Rye on the Mornington Peninsula and is our very own gallery manager at & Gallery. “The camera employs a single glass eye that exclusively bears witness to a flat field, a plane of reflected light that exists but for a moment. A flash of photons recorded by a 12 megapixel sensor that does not distinguish as I do. Through reduction, disassembly and reassembly he explores what is and what may be. The recollection and recognition of moments, memories of place or objects are not generated from a single perspective, nor in a singular time frame, our pattern making mind stitches together a myriad of sensation to make a single memory which is unique to each observer.
