Judges Bull, cow/calf and heifer show judge Kyle Gillooly, Wadley, GA is the Manager of CES Polled Herefords and Smith Angus Farm. A native of Indiana, Kyle is an Animal Science graduate of Purdue University and was a member of the 2001 livestock judging team. Kyle grew up in both the Angus and Hereford junior associations, and that’s when he met his wife Jennifer. They have two children, Grant and Diana Kate. Kyle is the Past President of the Georgia Cattlemen’s Association and has judged cattle in 25 states and Canada.

Showmanship judge Scott Burks is a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a BS in animal science. He is the manager of Green River Embryo transfer in Glasgow, Ky. His family raises Angus and Hereford cattle. Scott has raised and shown four national champions in the Hereford breed. He has judged all across the U.S. Scott is married to Kim Proffi tt-Burks, who is a school nurse and they have three children, Bradon, Tristann and Avery.

Ownership rule Each entry, must be owned solely by the junior exhibitor(s) and in his/her recorded ownership before June 1. Siblings may jointly own animals, provided both are members of the ABHJA and meet ABHJA age requirements. No animal is eligible to compete if recorded in joint ownership (other than the sibling rule), and no joint ownership with farm name or family name.

Age breaks for people Age as of Jan 1 Peewee 6-8 Juniors 9-12 Intermediate 13-16 Senior 17-21 Team fitting rules • Teams will be assigned by Jr. Committee members.

• Each team will be comprised of 3 members.

• Teams will be announced at least 1 hour prior to contest • A team member must wear a show harness to display a team

number assigned by contest officials.

• Contestants must bring any and all materials needed to the

fitting area. This includes the animal.

• Contestants may not use inappropriate fitting methods.

• Time Limit: 30 minutes • Clippers may be used at the discretion of team members.

• After time limit one team member will hold the animal in line for

final viewing and judging of judges.

• Judges will base placing on both fitting technique and final results.

In the event of a tie, teams will be allowed back in the chute for an additional 5 minutes.

Judging contest • Each age division will be scored separately • The juniors, peewee will have to answer one set of questions • Intermediate and seniors will answer one set of questions and give one set of reason • Each class will last 12 minutes Showmanship rules • Each age division will have a class • The show officials will decide on how to break each division if needed

• A $10 fee to sign up for showmanship is due with entries but will be given back to the kids after they show Entry rules • Entries will be mailed to: Austin Cole 1268 county Rd 168 Killen Al 35645 • Entries must be postmarked June 1st with $30 per head • $10 per head bedding fee • All animals must be registered with the ABHA prior to sending in entries • Make sure you mark on your entry if the animal is Bred and Owned • Ownership deadline is June 1st Stalling rules • No cattle will be allowed on the ground until 5pm on Wednesday June 28th • No cattle or tack will be allowed in the barn until 8am on Thursday June 29th • Cattle stalls will be preassigned General rules • All cattle must have original ABHA papers at check in • If you can’t show your animal in the show due to the having another animal in the class or division then another junior member may show. If there is a medical reason the show officials have the final say on if it can be excused. If excused the junior member with the medical problem must be present in order for someone else to show.

Junior’s member must wear official t shirt during the ring. No tennis shoes, shorts, or baseball hats • No alcohol allowed on the grounds • No dogs allowed in the barn • Protest 25 dollars 1 hour after the show • Cows that are nursing must show in the cow calf show and are not eligible to show in the heifer show • We will check tattoos during cattle check in • All cattle must meet the Kentucky health regulations • The exhibition of cattle displaying false hair will not be allowed • No pumping of the animals • No dying at the show •Cattle will be released at the conclusion of the show on Sunday Show rules • Heifer show will be broken down into f1, percentage and purebred 6
