Welcome to SEASON 72
As the curtain rises on our 2025–2026 season, we are filled with immense pride and gratitude for a remarkable year of growth, celebration, and reconnection.
Last season marked our return to our newly renovated home on 5th Avenue South—and what a homecoming it was. From several sold-out productions to an explosion in class enrollment and education offerings, our theatre was once again filled with laughter, learning, and the unmistakable energy of a community coming together. More than just a physical transformation, our space became a launching pad for new ideas, renewed relationships, and a reimagined future.
Through powerful partnerships with hospitals, schools, law enforcement, and local organizations, we expanded our reach beyond the stage—bringing the healing and connective power of theatre to places where it’s needed most.
At The Naples Players, every seat, every story, and every applause is part of something bigger—a shared commitment to building community through exceptional access to the power of theatre. Welcome to Season 72!

SPOTLIGHT ON
CHRISTIAN SYDNEY
Young Couple Finds Family at THE NAPLES PLAYERS CONN
Christian and Sydney Conn may have both grown up in Naples, but for years they walked right past The Naples Players without ever stepping inside. That changed in December 2021, when their plans to celebrate their one-year anniversary took an unexpected turn. Their original idea — a holiday murder-mystery train ride — was canceled. Instead, they bought tickets to A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder at TNP.
What they didn’t expect was to be swept into a world that would soon become central to their lives. The glow of holiday lights, dinner downtown, and the charm of the TNP Festival of Trees in the theater’s lobby made the night unforgettable. “We were enchanted,” Sydney recalls. “It felt like discovering a whole new part of Naples we hadn’t known existed.”
The Festival has since become one of their favorite traditions, and readers can find
more information about this year’s Festival of Trees in the ad on page 29.
Sydney’s Path Backstage
When Sydney, an English graduate from FGCU, wasn’t cast in a show on her first audition with TNP in 2023, she joined her husband in a stage management class. She quickly discovered the energy of stage management and volunteered behind scenes with 42nd Street, leading her next role as assistant stage manager for Death of A Salesman.
This fall, Sydney returns as ASM for And Then There Were None, working behind the scenes every night to ensure rehearsals and performances stay on track.
Christian Steps Onstage
Christian’s TNP journey began in 2023, when he landed a major role in Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley. In 2024, he appeared in Harvey — both productions
staged while TNP’s season was hosted offsite at Naples United Church of Christ due to renovations at the main theater.
That summer, he stepped into the newly renovated Kizzie Theater on backstage crew for 42nd Street, his first time back inside the refreshed building and the very first production in the new theater. Since then, he’s embraced both onstage and backstage opportunities. This fall, he appears as Byron in Ada and the Engine.
He also joined TNP staff as part of the Box Office team, where he shares his enthusiasm with visitors strolling along 5th Avenue. “For many, it’s their first time in our beautiful theater,” he says. “I love telling them about our productions, taking them into the Kizzie Theater, and watching their faces light up. A lot of them come back as season ticket holders or even volunteers. It’s so rewarding.”
More Than a Stage
For Christian and Sydney, TNP has become much more than a place to volunteer — it’s become a second family.
“We spend four or five nights a week here during a production,” Sydney says. “It’s a huge time commitment, but you come back because of the people. When I returned to crew And Then There Were None after being away for six months, it was like reuniting with old friends.”
CONTINUED ON PAGE 16 >
Christian adds, “The community here is joyful and supportive. It’s fulfilling to be part of something that brings people together and creates lasting memories.”
Shared Passions
Their love of storytelling stretches beyond the stage. Both are avid players of Dungeons & Dragons, which Christian jokes has made him a better actor. “You have to improvise and build characters on the fly — it’s great training for theatre.”
They also share an interest in medieval history, costumes, and fantasy. Renaissance fairs and conventions like Miami’s Florida Supercon are part of their calendar.
And while Christian is drawn to performance, Sydney pours her creativity into writing. She has completed a novel and several plays, setting herself the ambitious goal of collecting 50 rejection letters from publishers. She’s already at 37. “She writes a thousand words a day,” Christian says proudly. “I know she’ll be a published playwright one day.”
Looking Ahead
As a young married couple, Christian and Sydney see their time at TNP not just as volunteering but as building a shared life around creativity, community, and friendship. Even between productions, they find themselves talking about their theatre family at home.
And this fall, their connection deepens even further. With Christian on stage in Ada and the Engine and Sydney backstage for And Then There Were None, The Naples Players truly will be their home away from home.
“The Naples Players is redefining what community theatre means. The quality is outstanding, but the heart is what keeps you coming back. A performance can make you laugh, cry, or think differently about the world. Sydney and I are just grateful to be a part of that — and we hope to inspire others to come experience it too.”
Christian Conn
STILL AMAZING After All These Years!
Has it really been more than 80 years? Based on the 1939 novel, the first stage version of And Then There Were None debuted in 1943. As they say, do the math!
How do we account for the enduring popularity of this play where all but one character dies a terrible death?
Firstly, the plot is masterful. Agatha Christie’s ingenious closed-circle mystery keeps audiences engaged and enthralled. The idea of ten strangers stranded on an island being killed off one by one creates unrelenting suspense.
Christie’s story is carefully structured: each character’s fate builds more tension, suspicion, fear, and paranoia. Who will be next? And why? And who’s the murderer?
The brisk pace keeps us enthralled from start to finish.
The play’s exploration of justice, guilt, and morality allows it to resonate across time and cultures. Each stranger harbors a dark personal secret, bears its shame, and fears exposure. The idea of inescapable fate and torment elevates the play far above the typical whodunit—it’s a deep psychological thriller.
Over the decades, productions have modernized the staging and direction to appeal to new audiences. Some revivals use the darker original ending, while others keep the 1943 happy ending. Innovative directors have played with lighting, sound and set design as well to heighten the play’s eerie atmosphere.
Despite the modifications, And Then There Were None is as alive today as it was when it was first produced in 1943. However, the same can’t be said for the cast!
We are honored to be a part of the renovation team, thank you to The Naples Players for your partnership.

Meet THE CAST
Female Understudy
JO ATKINSON (Mrs. Rogers) first joined The Naples Players in 1977. Her favorite roles with TNP (in that century) were Eliza/My Fair Lady and Corie/Barefoot in the Park. More recently, she has enjoyed being a part of the ensemble of Love, Loss and What I Wore; Always a Bridesmaid; Calendar Girls; and Laugh, Cry, Pee, Repeat. Love and thanks to all her family for their continued support of “mom’s/“grandma’s” need to be creative – especially her husband’s patience with “Dinners…and then there were none!”
BOB CAPPETTA (William Blore) is thrilled to return to the TNP stage following his recent performances in Death of a Salesman and Clue: On Stage, the latter of which was clearly inspired by this very story. Other recent SWFL credits include Saturday Night Fever (Belle Theatre), and both Jekyll and Hyde and Into the Woods (New Phoenix Theatre). Favorite Chicago area credits include Stage Kiss, The Book of Liz, Dangerous Corner, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He extends heartfelt thanks to his wife, Kathleen, for her unwavering love and support, and to his students at FSW for inspiring him every day.
ANDREW CILIBERTO (Fred Narracott) is delighted to be back in his third production on TNP’s stage. His previous TNP performances were in Barefoot In The Park and Our Town. Andrew’s acting pursuits in our theater communities has led to multiple performances at The Studio Players’ Joan Jenks Auditorium and Marco Island Center of the Arts. “My sincere thanks to Marcus Dean Fuller for the opportunity in my return to TNP’s stage. Additional thanks to the crew and support staff in making this classic production a success; and very special thank you to Deborah and Mac for their neverending support over the years.”
ALANNA DACHILLE (Vera Claythorne) is so excited to be back on the TNP stage! Past TNP roles include Cassie Cooper/Rumors, Diane Lorimer/42nd Street, and Nurse Kelly/Harvey. She is excited to be back doing work here in town and hopes you love the show as much as she does.
MASON FULLER (Anthony Marston) This is Mason’s first performance at The Naples Players, and first production ever! He’s excited to get up on stage and give acting a try in And Then There Were None

AGATHA CHRISTIE (Author) Born in Torquay, England in 1890, Agatha Christie is the best-selling novelist of all time. With over one billion books sold in English and another billion in over 100 languages, she is outsold only by the Bible and Shakespeare. She wrote 80 crime novels and collections of short stories, over 25 plays (including The Mousetrap, the world’s longest running play), and six novels under the pseudonym Mary Westmacott. Her first novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, introduced the world to the Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, followed a decade later by the shrewd and often-underestimated Miss Marple.
NOTES ON SENSITIVE TERMINOLOGY
Language used by the author in the stage directions and by her characters to de scribe religion, gender, sexuality, race and class is of the period in which the play was first performed. We are confident that the author’s intention was to be neutral within the stage directions - not to convey anything other than the facts of the characteristics relevant to a character’s portrayal. The dialogue, however, is the embodiment of the character speaking and must express his or her intentions at that point in the play. This means that the author will have chosen terminology to be spoken with varying degrees of precision, sensitivity and, possibly, deliberate insensitivity according to the character and the circumstances in which he or she is speaking.
