CAST BIOS

MELAKU BARBIER (Drum Major/Ensemble) is an 11-year-old powerhouse with a passion for performing! Born in Ethiopia, he brings bold energy and vibrant spirit to every stage he steps on. A competitive dancer and fearless acrobat, Melaku recently took home first place at STG Nationals 2025. Whether flipping through the air or lighting up the stage with a smile, he truly loves the spotlight. When not performing, you can find Melaku enjoying his favorite food—Ethiopian cuisine. With unstoppable drive and a heart full of rhythm, Melaku is ready to dance, leap, and shine in every role!

VICTOR BRIZ (Ripper/Ensemble) is a determined and passionate child actor with experience in theater, commercials, and film productions. Since the age of 7, he has appeared in major brand productions including Body Glove for Costco, Payless, Publix, and more. This is his 4th musical theater production, following Something Rotten! JR, School of Rock, and A Christmas Story: The Musical. Offstage, Victor enjoys reading, playing tennis, and spending time outdoors.

NOAH CURRAN (Troy Bolton) is exceptionally proud to be appearing in a TNP performance for the first time! He was seen most recently at Gulfshore Playhouse as Bruce/Matilda JR and as Charlie/Willy Wonka JR. At 11 years old, he is especially passionate about singing and can often be heard singing for anyone who will listen. However, he is looking forward to learning some cool dance moves for this performance! Noah is also thrilled to have the opportunity to attend The Naples Players Academy of Dramatic Arts this year. Most of all, he loves to make people smile through entertainment, and hopes you all enjoy the show!

ELOISE FILNER (Kelsi Neilsen) has previously performed at TNP in SIX: Teen, Horton/Seussical Kids, Glinda/The Wizard of Oz, and numerous roles in showcases over the last several years. She has also appeared as Mrs. Bucket in Willy Wonka JR at Gulfshore Playhouse. Eloise has studied the violin since she was very young and enjoys performing music of all kinds. She hopes you enjoy the show!

CONNER BROWN (Mongo/Ensemble) loves acting and fishing! Born in Chicago, he spends summers at home in Pittsburgh and school months here in sunny Naples! In his free time, Conner works on crafts such as woodworking and 3D printing. Wish him luck at The Freedom Institute of Collier County! If you see Conner walking his dog Indi, be sure to say hi: he loves meeting new people. He’s beyond excited to be in this play!

COOPER FOLEY (Coach Bolton) is a student at The Naples Players Academy. He has been a part of several productions at Seacrest, Gulfshore Playhouse, and TNP. Some of his favorite past credits include Weisel/Newsies, and President Roosevelt/Annie. When not on stage, Cooper plays soccer and golf. Enjoy the show!

KALOYAN BUELOW (Zeke Baylor/Ensemble) this is Kaloyan’s 8th year performing. He started at TNP when he was only 4 years old. His very first production was The Little Engine That Could when he was 7. Other shows include Fagin/Oliver, Peter Pan/ Peter Pan, Jiminy Cricket/Ever After, Mason/School of Rock, and Randy/A Christmas Story, The Musical. He is very excited and thankful to be in the cast of High School Musical JR. Some of his favorite things to do are playing video games and being with his friends and family. He hopes you enjoy the production.

JAKE BUFFINGTON (Chad Danforth) is from the small town of Hingham, Massachusetts and started theatre in Naples, Florida at The Village School playing Monsignor O’Hara in Sister Act JR and has done many shows since then! Those shows include, Razoul/Aladdin, James/School of Rock, Schwartz/A Christmas Story: The Musical, Lord Clapham/Something Rotten! JR, and Charles/Beetlejuice JR. Jake thanks his siblings, Cooper, Emily and Abbey, and his father for always being there for him and supporting him. He hopes you enjoy the show!!!

TAO HAAS (Jason/Ensemble) is thrilled to be performing alongside this talented cast and crew for High School Musical JR! He was recently seen in TNPA’s Beetlejuice JR and was Grover Dill/A Christmas Story: The Musical. Other favorite TNPA credits include: Freddy/School of Rock, Charlie Cowell/The Music Man, Troy/High School Musical, Shrek/Shrek, and Alex/Madagascar. Many thanks to Mrs. Jen, Mrs. Julie and Ms. Kellie for this great opportunity to learn musical theatre from them. Tao hopes you enjoy the wonder of connection that this fun, upbeat musical brings to life!

HADLEY HACKER (Skater Clique/Ensemble) is absolutely thrilled to be performing in High School Musical JR with TNPA! Theatre has been her passion since childhood—a place where she can truly be herself, express her creativity, and bring stories to life. Hadley’s previous shows include James and the Giant Peach JR, Winnie the Pooh JR, Annie JR, Finding Nemo JR, Willy Wonka JR, Matilda JR, and various school productions. When she’s not onstage, you can find Hadley singing, dancing, or daydreaming about her next big role. She is so grateful for her family, friends, and everyone at TNP for supporting her theater journey.

KIZZIE HART (Susan/Ensemble) is currently a 6th grader at Mason Classical Academy and is thrilled to be doing another show at TNP. Previous credits include Juno/ Beetlejuice JR, the Wicked Witch/The Wizard of Oz, Jojo/Seussical, and the T-Rex/The Magic Treehouse. Kizzie would like to thank the amazing team at TNP as well as her family for their love and support.

SCARLETT MULLEN (Ms. Darbus) is an enthusiastic, fun-loving 7th grader here at TNPA! She has had a huge passion for theater since she was a little girl. This is her 3rd production here at TNP and has recently been in Something Rotten! JR and Legally Blonde JR! Other than theatre, Scarlett enjoys being with friends, going on walks, and listening to music! Scarlett adores Broadway and hopes to be in a show there one day! She’s super grateful to have this opportunity here at TNPA to learn more and is very excited! She wants to thank the directors, cast, and crew for making this production possible! She hopes you enjoy the show!!!!

VIVIAN JONES (Martha Cox) is an 11-year-old 6th grader at The Village School where she has studied voice privately for the past two years. This is Vivian’s second time performing with TNP after performing with the ensemble of Beetlejuice JR this past summer. Her favorite pastime is performing on cruise ships where you will find her making friends at the front of the line at every Family Karaoke night! Vivian hopes to attend Broadway Bootcamp when she turns 13 and to continue to study musical theatre. Vivian is also a member of the Competition Team with Angelic Academy of Dance and is a cheerleader. She is supported by siblings Ella and Colin, Mom & Dad, and her two pugs.

ELLIE KAPISAK (Ms. Tenny/Ensemble) is so excited to be a part of this production of High School Musical JR!! She attends the Academy here at TNP, and is in the 7th grade! you may have seen her in Legally Blonde JR, Something Rotten! JR, and Beetlejuice JR She thanks her family and friends for helping and supporting her through her journey here at TNP and hope you enjoy the show!

MATIAS PISCOYA (Ryan Evans) This 12-year-old has found a second home on stage and loves every chance he gets to perform, dance, and sing his heart out. Some of his favorite past roles include Ralphie/A Christmas Story: The Musical, Young Tobias/ Sweeney Todd, Zack Mooneyham/School of Rock and ensemble in Beetlejuice JR. He also had the chance to sing “The Impossible Dream” at The Naples Players’ Annual Gala, which was a super cool experience. Matias is grateful to everyone at TNP, coaches, and castmates for making every rehearsal something to look forward to and he hopes this show makes you want to sing along!

NICHOLAS RADOSTI (Jack Scott) is very excited to be part of High School Musical . Nicholas has an incredible passion for theatre: the stage is where he feels at home. Some of his favorite past roles include Miss Trunchbull/Matilda JR, Elisha Whitney/ Anything Goes Youth Edition, Mike Teavee/Willy Wonka JR, and Peter Pan/Peter Pan . Each production experience has meant so much to him and has created exceptional lasting memories.

SOFIA LUGO (Taylor McKessie) is an outgoing 7th grader with a passion for acting, singing and dancing. Previous TNP credits include Ensemble/Beetlejuice JR, Troupe/ Something Rotten! JR, Brooke Wyndham/Legally Blonde JR, Shonelle/School of Rock, and Lucinda/Into The Woods JR. Offstage, Sofia enjoys dancing, playing tennis and piano, and socializing with friends. Sofia is grateful to be part of TNP as a performer, volunteer, and member of the Jr. Leadership Council. She would like to thank her family, Jen, MJ, Jillian, Maddie, Kellie, and the entire team at TNP for making this all possible.

ADRIANA MARINOV (Cheerleader Clique/Ensemble) is so happy to participate in her 3rd show at TNP!! Previous productions include Ensemble/Something Rotten! JR and Ensemble/Legally Blonde JR. She is a student at Mason Classical Academy, and has been in a few other shows at the school’s drama club including: Alice in Wonderland, The Nutcracker Prince, and A Christmas Cinderella. While not performing, she likes to dance, enjoy the outdoors, and hang out with friends. She would like to thank the directors for everything, and her family and friends for their endless support.

OLIVIA RADOSTI (Cheerleader Clique/Ensemble) is thrilled to join the cast of High School Musical JR. She loves being on stage and engaging in new theatrical roles. Singing, acting, and dancing are her favorite things to do. She is also a competitive Irish dancer, winning many trophies. Olivia is one of a kind and has an absolute heart of gold!

KENNA RESOP (Gabriella Montez) is thrilled to be part of this TNPA production! Her love for musical theater began in kindergarten at a TNP summer camp, where she performed in a mini production of Moana. Since then, she has performed in many local productions and continues to grow her passion for the stage. Her most recent role was as Sky in the cast of TNPA’s summer production of Beetlejuice JR, which was one of her favorite experiences. Kenna is excited to attend TNP Academy this year. She also loves dancing, running track, and competing as a hunter jumper. She brings passion and energy to all she does!

MIA STURZENEGGER (Sharpay Evans) has always had a love for theatre and brings passion to every role. Favorite past roles include Mrs. Wormwood/Matilda JR, Nemo/Finding Nemo JR, Pepper/Annie, the Candyman/Willy Wonka JR, Anna of Cleves/SIX: Teen Edition, and ensemble in Anything Goes, Newsies JR, Frozen JR, and Something Rotten! JR. She’s trained with Broadway professionals and continues voice and dance lessons. Mia is thrilled to be back at The Naples Players and honored to take on the role of Sharpay. She dreams of Broadway one day and thanks her family, friends, and teachers for their love and support—enjoy the show!

OLIVIA YASA (Kratnoff/Ensemble) is excited to be a part of High School Musical JR She has previously been a part of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Wizard of Oz: The Deleted Scene, Finding Nemo JR, and Grease. She enjoys singing, dancing and acting. Outside of school she loves to travel and she always finds a way to have an adventure. She wants to thank her family and friends for their support and she hopes they enjoy the show!

MADDIE BRENDEL (Assistant Choreographer) is thrilled to have been able to work on this production of High School Musical JR! This past summer at TNP she cochoreographed SIX: Teen Edition. You may have seen her on stage as Persephone/ Dance Captain/Hadestown Teen, Ensemble/Dance Captain/Young Frankenstein and Ensemble/42nd Street. She hopes you enjoy the show!

DALLAS J. COOK (Lighting Designer) is thrilled to return to The Naples Players as this season’s lighting intern. He recently graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor of Arts. As TNP’s summer 2024 intern, Dallas designed School of Rock and co-designed 42nd Street. In Charlotte, he has designed Peter and the Starcatcher, Measure for Measure, and Welcome to Our Village, Please Invade Carefully, as well as countless dance pieces. He hopes you enjoy the show!

JILLIAN COSSETTA (Choreographer) is a recent graduate of University of Central Florida’s BFA Musical Theatre and Dance Minor programs. She was recently seen in New London Barn Playhouse’s Hairspray (Brenda, U/S Amber) and Jersey Boys (Mary Delgado). Some of her favorite UCF credits are Hodel/Fiddler on the Roof and Angie/ The Prom. Jillian is so excited to be choreographing for the place she grew up doing theatre. Enjoy the show!

KELLIE CULLINAN (Music Director) is a classically trained singer, actress, and voice teacher known for her cheerful and encouraging teaching style. With a B.M. and M.M. in Vocal Performance and an Outside Field in Musical Theater from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, she specializes in building strong vocal technique for aspiring and emerging performers. She has been seen in concert work, new works, and musicals nationwide, including performances at Carnegie Hall, Fenway Park, Artis— Naples, and TheatreZone. During her time in NYC, she worked as a New York PopsEd Teaching Artist and performed with the nonprofit Concerts in Motion, “bringing music, conversation, and kindness to people who may feel isolated.” With over 14 years of experience in private voice instruction, she serves as the music director for the Middle and Upper School Choirs at The Village School. A proud member of AEA, NATS, and FMEA, Miss Cullinan is passionate about inspiring the next generation of performers. Thank you to TNP, and the cast of High School Musical JR!

CALLIE HARTEL (Costume Designer) is very excited to be returning to TNP for a second season. She worked as the costume intern last season and has returned as the costume artist in residence. She is originally from Colorado, where she studied at Colorado State University. She spent the summer in Winona, MN working at Great River Shakespeare Festival as both a first hand and a wardrobe supervisor. She is grateful to be back working at TNP!

AMY HUGHES (Props Designer) is excited to be propping such an amazing production. Amy is mostly known for her credits on stage in shows such as Marian/The Music Man and Mona/Chicago. She is excited to step into the role of a lifetime as the properties director for The Naples Players and looks forward to an amazingly creative future.

BRIDGET POULTER (Assistant Props Designer) is the full season props intern and she is thrilled to be working with TNP for this season. She was born and raised in Littleton, Colorado and she is a recent graduate from Colorado State University where she obtained a degree in Theatre Design and Technology with a concentration in Scenic Design and a minor in Film Studies. She has previously worked as a designer for her college theatre program where her most recent credits include scenic designer for Into the Woods (KCACTF nomination) and the props designer for Peter and the Starcatcher. She cannot wait to continue her props career here and is looking forward to the upcoming season.

JULYSSA MEDRANO (Director) began her journey at TNP in the summer of 2024 as a class instructor and transitioned to Assistant Director of Education in January 2025. A former CCPS Theatre and English teacher, Julie is passionate about building a program that inspires young people and fosters their love for the arts. She works to ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive both onstage and behind the scenes, fostering a supportive environment where each child feels encouraged, included, and valued. Directing this show has been an absolute joy, and Julie is deeply grateful for the cast, TNP staff, and every student she has had the pleasure of working with. She thanks Jen Price for trusting her to help shape such a meaningful program.

SCARLETT MEINERT (Assistant Stage Manager) got her head in the game for her first production as an assistant stage manager, having previously performed in several shows. She hopes you live, laugh, and love this production. Go Wildcats!!

JEN PRICE (Co-Director) has been the Director of Education at The Naples Players Academy of Dramatic Arts for over a year and is passionate about expanding the program. She spent 15 years teaching in Collier County Public Schools and led the award-winning drama program at Gulf Coast High School, where her students earned numerous accolades, including a 2021 Jimmy Award nomination. Jen is certified in multiple subjects, endorsed in Gifted and ESOL education, and has been involved with The Naples Players for 16 years. Inspired by her children’s experiences in TNP’s education program, she recently transitioned from public education to focus on theatre full-time. Jen is excited to share her experience and love of the arts with the community.

HUNTER REUM (Assistant to the Director) is the current Full Season Education/ Directing Intern with TNP and is excited to serve as Assistant to the Director for TNPA’s High School Musical JR. A recent graduate of Piedmont University, he was the Assistant Director for A Piece of My Heart, The Laramie Project, and 9 to 5 The Musical As part of his internship with TNP, Hunter is also assistant directing Ada and the Engine and serving as Assistant to the Director on Little Women

FRANK MESSANA (Assistant Stage Manager) is “soarin’, flyin’” as Assistant Stage Manager for this production! He loved helping keep everyone “all in this together” backstage. His hobbies include him being a professional xylophone player and shooting hoops. He hopes you live, laugh, and love the show!

MICHAEL SANTOS (Scenic Designer) is a graduate of Cazenovia College in Upstate New York and has been a Naples resident for over 22 years. Favorite scenic designs include The Drowsy Chaperone, The Rocky Horror Show, Mamma Mia!, Guys and Dolls, Mary Poppins, and Hadestown: Teen Edition. A huge thank you to the shop volunteers for doing what they always do! And to his wife, Judith, for always being his everything :-)

ABIGAIL SPIKER (Stage Manager) is a student at Naples High School and is excited to be taking on her first stage manager assignment. Surrounded by theatre her entire life, Abigail has developed a deep passion for the craft. She was recently part of the crew for A Christmas Story: The Musical and The Play That Goes Wrong, where she gained valuable behind-the-scenes experience. She also recently assistant stage managed Beetlejuice JR and Hadestown: Teen Edition.

KOHEN VERRETTE (Sound Designer) Hired as TNP’s Director of Sound in July 2025, Kohen is extremely excited to be a part of his first design project with The Naples Players. In the midst of relocation from New Orleans, LA, Kohen is thrilled to be a part of this lively community. From working with legendary musical acts such as Ivan Neville and George Porter Jr. to mixing in some of the nation’s historical theaters, Kohen is ready to share his knowledge and have some fun with The Naples Players this season!
