Our Community Center is now open. Woo-hoo. A long yet very welcome process. I hope you are all as happy about the outcome as I am. I could not have asked for a more beautiful outcome. Now we can look forward to some great gatherings.

The lighting has gone up and the fence is in progress (when this was being written). The cornhole cement pads have been poured and ready to go. We will work on getting current pictures on the website. Residents have been playing put and bocce ball. I have yet to see anyone using the driving range cage. Who wants to be the first?

The TVs have gone up in the gym and billiards room. Everything is coming together. Next time I hope to report that the landscaping and front of the community center will be done.

I will try and keep the updates coming since a lot of you are not here at the moment.

SUPERSTITION COMMUNITY FOOD BANK

Between 3/1/24 and 3/31/24 Rock Shadows residents donated 285 lbs. of various food items to this organization!!

Rock Shadows has a box for donations in the Recreation Hall year-round if you would like to participate in “Working Together to Feed the Hungry in East Valley Communities.” Please remember to check expiration dates and only unopened food items.

Most-needed items:

For safety reasons, we are not able to accept opened packages, homemade foods, dented cans, glass containers, perishable foods, or foods with an “expired date.”

We also accept:

Perishable items such as Milk, Eggs, Cheese, Bread, Fruits, Produce, and Meat. These items should be brought directly to the Food Bank during donation hours. For more information visit www.superstitionfoodbank.org

Saint Patrick’s Day Celebration

The only thing that could have been better was the weather! We had a lovely baked potato bar and Stiletto’s who rocked the house even though it was freezing cold! Thanks to all who came to celebrate with us!

Bon Voyage Dinner

The Bon Voyage Dinner was so much fun! The weather was just perfect, and the hamburgers were juicy and delish! A SPECIAL THANK YOU to Scott and Bree who managed to cook those baby’s to absolute perfection! I couldn’t have done it without you two. Thank you to the residents for bringing the lovely side dishes for us all to share! What a great event!

A reminder regarding the forwarding of your mail when you return home. We have placed “Forwarding Cards” in your park post office box. Please check to make sure the address we have in our records is current and that we have sufficient mailing labels. Fill in the date you are leaving and Return Forwarding Card to Rock Shadows Post Office.

For New Owners and Renters: Please fill out a “Forwarding Card” with the address you want your mail forwarded to and provide us with mailing labels. IT IS ESSENTIAL that you provide us with mailing labels. The Rock Shadows Post Office can prepare labels for $1.00 per sheet. Give your

This was a special event and very enjoyable to be a part of. There won’t be another solar eclipse until 2044 making this very special! I loved surprising you all with the pizza. Thank you for making this event memorable!

Life in the park is quieting down and the heat is rising. Lots of you are on the route to your summer homes! I will try to hold the fort down for your return. This doesn’t mean the fun is stopping. I plan on us enjoying a few happy hours throughout summer and you know me, we WILL be crafting!

We are currently packing and getting things organized for the new Community Center. I actually feel a little buzz in the air! I’m very excited to have a nice kitchen to work in and plenty of room for events. My meteorologist hat is off, and I can finally focus on better things.

Thanks for all the love and support this season and I am looking forward to the next!
