Greetings Jadestone family,

It’s such a beautiful time of year, take time to enjoy it. Flowers are blooming and the weather is perfect. I love to see a lot of you enjoying the pool and all the other amenities here at Jadestone. Please remember you are responsible for your guests and need to be with them at all times.

Get ready for a jam packed, super fun month ahead. We celebrate Jadestone mothers with roses and chocolate covered strawberries and in an ode to the Kentucky Derby are having our first ever Derby Dash hosted by Archwell Medical. Bet on your favorite horse using funny money provided to you. Don’t forget Cinco de Mayo, last year we had a blast and I’m hoping to top it this year, bring your favorite Mexican dish and be prepared to have some fun.

As well as all our other activities you can see there’s lots to do for everyone, so come on out and enjoy everything Jadestone has to offer.

My name is Lynda, with a y as I am called in the domino group. I am Lynda Peters at lot 45 and I have lived here for about 2 years. I moved here from CO. The weather is quite different. I used to shovel snow but now I try to keep cool here.

I could not find a better place to live than here in the park. I have found so many new friends. I was born and raised in Tennessee, so I am a southern lady.

I love to fix desserts. Not much of a cook but I am a baker.

I like to do crafts and I am in the process of making hand quilted baby quilts.

I also like to garden. I have put a lot of bulbs in pots to enjoy. They are blooming or going to bloom. Maybe you can come by and see them.

I like to visit CO, CA and OR to visit with my children and great grandchildren.

As I said, I have wonderful neighbors all around. My daughter says I am living her dream when she retires, games, parties, and people. I have so many choices to choose from and I am glad to live here.

YOTM = YARD OF THE MONTH (APRIL)

This month’s YOTM goes to Jettie S. in 116. The flowers in her home are in bloom and her yard looks amazing. Thank you, Jettie, for showing pride in ownership and taking such great care of your yard. Your $50 gift card is on the way.

9 No parking on the curbs, they are old and can’t withstand the weight of an automobile

9 No parking on the street after 1Opm. A tow truck goes through our park at random and will tow your car. Don’t get caught, getting your car back is a huge headache.

9 ALL dogs must always kept on a leash when they are outside, even if they are on your property. Don’t get a notice because you didn’t leash your dog.

9 Weeds are still a problem. Please be diligent in keeping your yards looking their best. If you are proactive and spend 1O minutes daily in your yard you can stay on top of this situation.

9 The back trash area is not for dumping. If you have things to dump, you need to take them to the dump in Glendale and not place them in the back. We have to load them up and take them and it costs Jadestone money to do this.

9 You are responsible for guests at the park, this includes parking. Please instruct your guests to park appropriately, this includes not parking on curbs or blocking driveways.

SPEEDING

The speed limit in the park is 10mph. For everyone’s safety, and your own, please obey this.

I constantly see people speeding through the park and it is dangerous, not to mention against the rules. Please plan accordingly so you are not in a hurry when you leave the park and take some time to enjoy the scenery.

We’re celebrating Jadestone’s moms on the 10th starting at 10am. Drop on in for a chocolate covered strawberry and rose courtesy of Jadestone and the Jewels. It’s time something nice was done for the moms.

DERBY DASH

Archwell Medical is coming back and this time they’re bringing horses!?! Not real ones of course but come on down for our first ever Derby Dash. Place your bet (play money will be provided), and cheer for your favorite horse! We’re going to have a blast on May 17th from 3-5pm.

Bingo is sure gaining popularity, we have a full house every time! Jeanie does a fantastic job calling the numbers and makes it fun and exciting for everyone. Don’t forget to join in every second Wednesday at 10:30, this month it’s on the 8th and 22nd.

UPCOMING MAY

Dominoes: join the gang for a fun game of Dominoes, there’s lots of laughs with this awesome group, every Thursday at 5:30pm.

Men’s Group: it’s the men’s turn to get together and tell stories and tell stories they do! Join them every Tuesday and Thursday at 8am.

Coffee and Donuts: join in the conversation while enjoying a hot cup of coffee with your favorite donut every Friday at 9am.

Game night: come down every Saturday at 5:30 for a great time with even greater people and play your favorite game.

Chair Yoga: Join the ladies for an awesome yoga session every Monday at 4:30 and Friday at 1pm.

Cinco de Mayo: a fun and festive time will be had by all during our Cinco de Mayo celebration. Come on down on the 3rd at 4pm.

Jewels Meeting: there is always lots to discuss and plan every month. Join the Jewels on the first Monday of every month at 10am, this month they’re meeting on the 6th.

Coin Club: if you are interested in learning more about coins join this very informative club on the second Monday of the month. This month they meet on the 13th at 6pm.

Let’s Play Cards: join in every Monday from 10am-3pm for an afternoon of Shanghai Rummy. They encourage anyone interested to come join in.

Bingo: every second Wednesday join Jeanie for a fun game of Bingo. This month Bingo takes place on the 8th and 22nd at 10:30am.

Cooking Class: join Norma as she demonstrates how to make her amazing guacamole on the 21st at 1:30pm.

Ladies Luncheon: join the ladies at Cheddar’s on Bell this month. Join in for a delicious meal and girl chat on 15th at 12pm.

Snack and talk with Lori: this month join Lori for pie and talk about what things need to be covered before you pass away.

Mother’s Day: moms come pick up a chocolate covered strawberry and rose from Jadestone and the Jewels all day on the 10th•

Derby Dash: come on down and join in this fun game, play money will be used to bet on your favorite horse. Sponsored by Archwell Medical.

Street Sweeping: Pro-Sweep will be here on the 24th, so don’t forget to blow out your yards on the 23rd or morning of the 24th. They’ve been starting much earlier in the morning than we are used to so don’t miss it.

CA ll C ooks

Norma is making her delicious guacamole during cooking class. She has a set of ingredients but uses her special touch and adds them as she likes it and encourages you to do the same. Join her on the 21st at 1:30pm for a demonstration and some yummy guacamole after the class.

Our second annual “Cinco de Mayo” is right around the corner, this time it’s potluck.

Wear your sombrero and get ready for a great time! We’ll be serving the margaritas, just bring your favorite Mexican side dish to share.
