MANAGER’S CORNER
by Anita PoggendorfHi everyone!!
As the old saying goes, April Showers bring May flowers and WEEDS!!!! HAHA
This is my favorite time of year the mornings are cool and crisp; the daytime hours are warm and then in the evening it cools back down where you can actually open your windows and doors!!!
The Club House has been very busy with residents coming in and enjoying the activities, cards, DJ Andre, National Grilled Cheese Day, Yoga, and the monthly sport tournaments, just to name a few!!!
In May we will have our Cinco de Mayo Taco Bar at 4:00pm on Saturday, the 4th. We will be handing out roses to all of the mothers on Friday the 10th, all kinds of card games (check the calendar for days and times), Bible studies, and as always Coffee and Donuts every Friday Morning at 9:00AM.
Happy May!
Your Community Manager, Anita Poggendorf

MONTHLY CHUCKLE
FROM YOUR COPPERSUN ACTIVITY DIRECTOR
Joanne AyotteHello everyone and welcome to spring and the beginning of our warmer summer months. Our April Activity calendar was full, as is our upcoming May calendar. April brought us a new Bible Study Class with resident Pastor Ernie. His studies are held the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 1pm in our clubhouse. Everyone is welcome to attend and participate.
Our St. Patrick’s Potluck was a very nice meal and was a fun time to spend with fellow residents. Our Easter Jelly Bean Contest was won by our own Bobbie Bevars, who’s guess of 512 was the closest to the 516 jelly beans in the jar. Our Girl Talk at Nan Jing was a lovely lunch out that was enjoyed by several of our women residents.
We began our 2nd quarter Charitable Event on April 1, 2024. We are collecting new and gently used items such as jewelry, clothing, and small housewares. The donations will be taken to the upscale thrift store called “Glorious Treasures” which is run by Advanced Independance which benefits persons with special needs. Residents have been very generous and I want to express my gratitude for your donations.
MEET YOUR NEIGHBOR
This month we would like to introduce Ernie and Charissa (pronounced cha-REE-sa) Haines, in Lot 353 to the community. Here are the responses to our interview:
When did you move into the community? We moved in here February 15, 2024.
Why did you decide to live here? We wanted to live somewhere with more space and a neighborhood where we can meet new people and make friends.
Our special craft project in April was so much fun. Artist/ Instructor Erin Denton taught us how to make the cutest birdhouses out of wine corks.
Our indoor activities of games and cards continue to be a big draw, as well as our outdoor sports. Again, thank you to all of the residents who help and who host all of these fun activities. Without volunteers, we would not be able to enjoy all of our activities.
Upcoming events for May include our Cinco de Mayo Taco Bar and potluck. Also in honor of Mother’s Day we will be handing out roses to our resident Mothers on Friday, May 10th at the office.
Most Sincerely
Joanne Ayotte Coppersun Activity DirectorWhere have you called “home?” Give 3 or 4 facts about your home state that are not common knowledge: We are from Colorado. Some interesting facts about Colorado are
1) Colorado is called the Centennial State
2) The state fossil is the Stegosaurus and
3) It has snowed in July!
What interests do you have?
We love to play cards and games. We are very involved with our church and do Bible Studies. Of course, family is very important to us.
What do you think would make this community even better? We love everything so far!
Is there anything else you'd like add?
We have felt very welcome here and are excited to meet everyone. Also, our faith is important so if anyone needs prayer for anything, please feel free to contact us.
