Ensure that the people of Kibwezi have access to affordable and effective health care services at all times

A

ccessible medical facilities are key to any meaningful life. People of Kibwezi have for a long time been trekking for long distance to access medical care, at times succumbing to illness before getting medical attention. Hon Kaloki is now putting up maternity wards, constructing new dispensaries, expanding health centres, equipping existing medical facilities and constantly consulting the District Medical Officer of Health on issues touching on the performance of all medical institutions in Kibwezi Constituency.. Hon Kaloki has sought donor support for drugs and the response has been extremely good, noting that in October 2009, he received two (2) forty (40) feet containers from the United States of America with clothes and medical equipment which complimented a consignment he had successfully lobbied for from KEMSA through the Minister for Health. Hon. Prof. Kaloki's vision for this sector is to ensure that the people of Kibwezi have access to affordable and effective health care services at all times. Among other key strategies, the MP has focused on are:Constructing new health facilities for easy accessibility and devolved community health services Rehabilitation of public health care institutions and support from government and Non Governmental Organizations. „ Establishment of strong partnership and inter-stakeholder linkages to motivate the staff to serve the communities. „ Development of strategic partnerships with Non-Governmental Organizations working on health care in Kibwezi Constituency and ensuring adequacy of staff, essential drugs, and equipment. „ Collaborating with medical professionals in the provision of specialized care and referrals. „ Promoting and supporting various development initiatives by PLWHA (People Living with HIV and AIDS) and reducing stigma. „ „
