ALL SET FOR FABULOUS FAMILY EVENTS The final plans are complete for Tewkesbury’s Big Weekend, which takes place on the weekend of Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd May. The line-up looks to be the best yet, with a huge variety of things to do. “On Saturday we will have the ever popular dog show at the Vineyards,” said organiser Carol Crilly. “If you have a dog we have a class for your special pooch! “There is a Craft Fayre in the Town Hall and further attractions in the gardens. The Ukulele band will be about town adding some music to the festivities. “Visit the ‘Stitch Story’ in The George Watson Hall from 10am. The action in town finishes with the street parade at 3.30pm. “The river-side activities next to Healings Mill will be on throughout the weekend. “We have children’s attractions, stalls, and SUP (stand up paddleboard) taster sessions. The Riverside stage has acts starting at 1.00pm and going through to 9.00pm on Saturday, as

well as a bar and food stall. “On Sunday the focus comes to the river with a Boat Parade at midday and Katakanu races starting at 2.30pm. Tewkesbury Festival
Later in the Summer Tewkesbury Festival returns to the Boathouse. The popular riverside venue hosted its first music festival
last August, and after such a fabulous response from local people, the organisers have scheduled a second event this year (Sat 27th/Sun 28th August). Tickets are available at www.tewkesburyfestival.co.uk Railway enthusiasts have a treat in store in June, when the Cotswold Festival of Steam returns to the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. ‘Somerset and Dorset Remembered’-themed event will be taking place at Toddington between Friday 3rd and Sunday 5th June. Guest locomotives (including Black Prince) will join residents, with a total of nine engines expected to be in steam, working an intensive timetable over the 14 mile line.
