DREAM HOLIDAY WIN FOR LOCAL SCHOOL Pupils from Tewkesbury’s Tirlebrook Primary School flew off to Mallorca last month, after winning themselves the ‘ultimate school trip’ in a competition organised by Jet2 Holidays.

Chris Tomkins, from the school in Brensham Road, said: “We saw a competition from Jet2 on social media about the chance to win the ultimate school trip. To enter, pupils had to create a promotional piece of material for the Katmandu Theme Park in Mallorca. “We were going to enter the competition as a whole class just before Christmas, but localised snow and pipeworks meant the school had to close for different reasons - and our time was disrupted. “So instead, we ran an after-school club, of which about half of the class managed to regularly attend. “We had all sorts of entries, from stop motion animation to Minecraft videos to posters to logos and everything in between! “All of our entries

their school - but our children were obviously keen to win the top prize too.” “The competition then went to a public vote and our whole school community got behind us – it was incredible! “From the children to their families and friends and beyond, we literally got votes from all over the world! I cannot thank our community enough for making these childrens’ dreams come true!” Tirlebrook Primary School won the vote by a considerable margin, and flew from Stansted Airport to Mallorca on Friday 20th April. As well as free time at Katmandu Theme Park, they attended the Genius Science Show (hosted by TV presenters Dick and Dom), enjoyed arts and crafts with CBBC’s Angelica Bell and performing and dance with Diversity’s Jordan Banjo.
