Summer SOAR 2022
TLC recognizes the critical opportunity that summer provides for students, thus we have worked to develop a comprehensive summer program with various opportunities. We have expanded our summer efforts to serve Pre-K through 11th grade students. The SOAR program is the core of TLC’s summer, providing an intensive math and literacy program for exiting K-7th grade students for eight weeks.
In addition to SOAR, TLC also offers tutoring and Practice Kindergarten programs during summer months.

Student Story
Thatcher has been attending our TLC summer programs since 2020. At the beginning of our SOAR eightweek program, Thatcher needed a lot of teacher encouragement in completing reading or math class assignments, would often be seen
“shutting down” and lacked confidence in math. Excitingly, Thatcher returned to SOAR in 2022 and over those eight weeks, Thatcher managed to make seventeen months of growth in math, and four months of growth in reading! He ended last summer 3 months ahead of grade level 1.Thatcher truly thrived in the program, standing out as a class leader and consistently diving into challenges that allowed him to be (and feel) successful.
