Family Literacy Program LIT LAB PRESCHOOL, PARENT EDUCATION AND IMAGINATION LIBRARY
Teton Literacy Center’s partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library provides free, high-quality books for young children in our community. The missions of both organizations passionately focus on literacy and access to books. The Imagination Library partners with local affiliates, like TLC, to mail free books each month to children all over the world, in Spanish and English. Families can enroll online at tetonliteracy.org or through the Imagination Library website. Families can also come to TLC to complete a paper registration form. All families in our community are welcome to enroll in this free program.
TLC works with community partners to promote this opportunity to families with young children. In collaboration with St. John’s Health, newborn babies will receive a new book and information on how to enroll in the program when they leave the hospital.

Family Focus
Cheila and her son, Bryan, have been coming to TLC for six years since her son began preschool at TLC. Upon beginning at TLC, Cheila was at our lowest English language level, unable to speak or understand anything in English. She worked in a local businesses and often expressed her frustration on not being able to understand her manager or her child’s teachers. In her spare time, Cheila continued to diligently practice her English language skills, and slowly increased.
Through the support of our extensive Parent Education programming she was able to learn how to create her first business plan, resign from her past employment and last March, began her own housekeeping business. Today, Cheila is at our highest English language level, attending both ESL and our Language Exchange program and attending every Parent Education class she can fit into her busy schedule. Bryan, her son, looks forward to our SOAR summer program, our afterschool clubs and tutoring every year.
TLC has been an enormous support for me and my family - I know I wouldn’t be where I am today without them, and I truly feel they are there in anything my family or I need in order to not just learn, but reach for the stars.”
