A Gentle Gathering è una collezione di oggetti lenti, realizzata con antichi telai che tessono al ritmo del corpo. Racconta una storia di memorie rurali, tempo sospeso e tradizioni.

Una serie di coperte e cuscini che avvicina e riunisce le persone, avvolgendole in un’atmosfera familiare e calma.

Nasce dal bisogno di allontanarsi dalla frenesia moderna per ritrovarsi a contatto con la semplicità, la materia ed il saper fare, con consapevolezza e cura.

A Gentle Gathering is a home collection of slow objects made with ancient restored handlooms that weave following the pace of the body. It tells stories about rural memories, tranquility and artisanal rituals.

The series brings people together, slowly embracing them in a warm and intimate atmosphere. It springs from the need for re-setting our values with something simple and familiar, disconnecting from a hectic modern life to be in touch again with matter and craft. Consciously, and with care.

A Gentle Gathering è interamente fatta a mano in un distretto tessile del Nord Italia, utilizzando filati scelti da un archivio dimenticato.

Disegnata con i toni della terra dal gusto mediterraneo, la collezione re-interpreta il classico motivo a scacchiera, dove ai blocchi densi e morbidi in mohair si alternano superfici ruvide e primitive in lana grezza. Semplice nell’aspetto, ma sofisticata nella manifattura e con una qualità tattile ricca e pregiata.

Ogni pezzo ci parla di un rituale artigianale fatto di gestualità esperte e pazienti, dove il disegno e la trama raccontano la tecnica, mentre le mani lasciano tracce di imperfezioni che rendono ogni pezzo vero e unico.

Its blankets and cushions are entirely handmade in a textile district in the North of Italy, using wool yarns chosen from a forgotten archive.

The making of each piece goes through manual and slow processes, where expert, immersive and repetitive gestures leave a trace of imperfection that makes every piece authentic and unique.

Drawn from an earthy palette, the collection is reminiscent of the Mediterranean landscape. It describes the traditional checkerboard motif, organised in a tactile grid play where the dense and soft mohair blocks are gently framed by relief lines and placed on a rough and primitive wool surface. Simple in aesthetic, but rich in tactility and made with a sophisticated method of manufacture.

16 Tessitura la Colombina

On their premises it’s possible to relive all the most important steps of the antique process of weaving, following a ritual that leads the thread through its journey in becoming product.

Their working looms are heritage of a territory rich in traditions, symbol of the authentic Made in Italy. The hand-made production has a slower rhythm and allows to realise truly unique pieces.

Il nostro passato è il nostro futuro.

Tessitura la Colombina è un’azienda dallo spirito artigianale che affonda le sue radici in un percorso di quattro generazioni, unendo innovazione e dedizione.

L’anima di questa realtà risiede nel mantenere vivo un “saper fare”, un know-how storico, e continuare a renderlo presente.

La sinergia di competenze, design e ricerca è il loro prezioso strumento per rimanere al passo coi tempi.

Nei loro spazi è possibile rivivere tutti i passaggi più importanti dell’arte della tessitura, seguendo un rituale che accompagna il filo nel viaggio da materia prima a prodotto, sotto forme e sfumature diverse.

I loro telai funzionanti sono patrimonio di un territorio ricco di tradizioni, simbolo dell’autentico Made in Italy, e la produzione fatta a mano dal ritmo lento, permette la realizzazione di pezzi realmente unici.

Manual warping mill — (03) Cantra, dove vengono posizionate le rocche di filo secondo un ordine preciso per preparare l’ordito. The spool rack is used to place the yarn cones in a specific order to set up the warp — (04) Passaggio dei fili in un pettine che servirà poi durante l’orditura per inserire le verghe di incrocio.
